Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

A mistake, but Yehudit's rages were far too dangerous to ignore. Liadan didn't know what to do.

"None of us were, well, crippled." Liadan looked at Yehudit's walking stick. Her ankle refused to heal. "We could run away if we had to, Yehudit can't. But Sileas still lets Yehudit follow her into trouble."

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

"Truthfully, I don't think it's so much a matter of lets as it is giving in to the inevitable. I don't think there's anything Sileas could say that would make Yehudit leave her behind or let her go off without her. So even if she had lost time in saving Millie by bringing Yehudit back here, you know full well she would have just followed Sileas when she went back. It wouldn't be fair to ask Sileas not to do what she feels needs to be done."

"Sileas keeps leading her into danger." Liadan shook her head. "I've forbidden Yehudit from being around Sileas."

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

"That didn't answer the question. Not that question, anyway, but now I understand why Sileas was upset when she was here earlier. And of course you're going to expect Sileas to be the bad person and force Yehudit away. I don't see how that's going to work unless you're planning on keeping Yehudit prisoner. Especially with everyone living in one spot right now."

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

"If she didn't keep leading Questa into danger I wouldn't have forbidden her." Liadan tugged on her ear. "Sileas used to protect Yehudit, until Yehudit got her ankle broken by Andy! It's never healed!"

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

"Why, I didn't know you cared about Questa's well being. And you think Sileas doesn't blame herself everyday for what Andy did? Yet, she didn't lead Yehudit into that situation, now did she? If she could heal Yehudit, she would." Brie glanced away. "There's just no reasoning with you. None what so ever. If the merman would have been grabbing Yehudit and Millie had been injured and with Sileas, you certainly wouldn't have wanted Sileas wasting time getting Millie to safety. Therein lies the proof of the problem. No one's safety matters but Yehudits. Not your other kids, not Millie, not Lek, not even Sileas. Never mind that Aislyn just lost all of her other children, no matter if a merman dragged off one of her remaining two."

"Yehudit is a child still! She shouldn't be risking her life and well-being for anyone, even for other children in the family." Liadan said. "She should be safe at home."

"Then it's on you to keep her there, not Sileas. And I will remember this, and will tell Shawn also, when Yehudit manages to find trouble all on her own and you want Sileas to help her. We will not allow her to risk her life for her."

Liadan was angry. "All the danger Yehudit gets into is from following Sileas so she won't need Sileas rescuing her!"

Brie was equally angry.  "Make sure it stays that way. In fact," she saw Shawn nearing them, "Not that it's right that I leave the village since I was born here, but maybe we should just go to Shawn's parents and leave all of you behind. You've never seen us as family anyway. We can leave years of bad memories behind."

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

"Mrs. Buckley," Brie sneered, "Has ordered Sileas to stay away from her daughter. Because every thing that's ever happened to her that's bad, including parchment cuts, are all Sileas's fault. I refuse to put it on Sileas to be the one to keep away, and since Lia's never recognized us as family and doesn't believe our daughter should be the one to help family members, I think it's high time we left and put all these bad memories behind us."

"You have NO SAY over what our daughter does. NONE! Sileas is an adult. Leave! GET AWAY FROM BRIE AND MY OTHER DAUGHTER. AND DON'T EVER, EVER, EVER, SPEAK TO SILEAS AGAIN. EVER." Shawn was ready to pull his sword and run her through.

"$(*@# STOP IT!" DIfyr burst out, beating a metal bowl with a ladle. "Both of you! You are upsetting each other, you're upsetting Yehudit, and you're upsetting my patients! My patients really don't need this on top of everything else that has happened to them! Hell, I don't need this! I've been working nonstop ever since the raiders struck, trying to make due with bootlaces and a handful of herbs, and patients are still piling up!" Difyr was at the breaking point.

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

Difyr's face burned, she was tempted to throw the who Buckley clan, the Spenser branch included, out of the healing room. Would be the only way to get some peace and quiet. Ila looked frightened, and Pinja was so terrified Difyr could see fresh blood leaking from the wounds on her face.

"Your stupid family used to band closer together during trouble, not tear each other apart like raven over a corpse." Difyr snarled. She looked to Aislyn, hoping she could talk some sense into these morons.

In reply to Liadan Buckley (msg # 797):

"I didn't say you had to leave the room, just get away from us. You're upsetting Brie and I won't have it. Bad enough you've already upset Sileas."

He looked at Difyr. "I said I'll find a room for us as soon as Brie has calmed. Lia doesn't recognize us as part of the family any longer."

Aislyn wandered over, not having any idea what was going on or how little Lia cared if she had nearly lost one of her only remaining children. "Lia, come over here with us." She had never seen Shawn so angry.

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

Shawn sat down next to Brie and pulled her into his arms. "You should probably go over with your mother," he said gently to Yehudit. He rested his head against Brie's, speaking gently to her.
