Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

Ila remembered a very drunk client saying that right before he passed out cold on her bed. Ila let him think he got his money's worth after he woke up and sent him on his way even though he never even touched her. Aron was more sober than that, but he still was tipsy. "Maybe we should wait for the healer to come back. She was going to see Mazi."

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

Aron scowled. Why did everyone insist on treating him like a twit? Without a word, he strode from the room and went to search for Xavier.

"Aron Buckley! What are you doing wandering about?" Difyr scolded when she found the former innkeeper leaving the room. "We have enough trouble without you wandering around inebriated."

"I am going to find Xavier to have him come speak with Ila. Whether Aislyn believes him or not, this is something best handled by him and his men."

Despite being younger than Aron Difyr gave Aron her best mothering frown. "You're drunk and I am not sure of Ila's sanity. But I will speak to Xavier about what she said about Nelek... Who, besides his head being shaved, still looks like himself."

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

"I want both of you to rest until- until I say you can stop!" Difyr was frazzled. So many sick and hurt people, limited resources, and she was alone to treat them all. Difyr gave the two a warning glare and went to find Xavier.

->To the Main Hall.

"Of course." He knelt down next to her so he wouldn't seem imposing. "How are you feeling, Miss Ila?"

Ila's head ached and she ached in several places, she did not feel like going into that.

"How I feel doesn't matter. Did she tell you, that Nelek is not really Nelek?" Ila asked anxiously.

In reply to Ila (msg # 65):

"She did but I fear it doesn't make much sense to me. I've never met this Nelek before but everyone seemed to believe it was him."

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

"I met the real Nelek once, he was polite and treated me kindly. He was very worried for his wife and children. The real Nelek is a prisoner on an island." Ila said. "The one everyone thinks is Nelek isn't not even human. When he swims he has a tail instead of legs. His name is Mazi. He drinks a potion that makes him look like Nelek. But I smashed the bottle." Ila smiled weakly. "He won't look like Nelek without his potion."

Xavier's eyes rounded. If the girl's words were true, the King would not be pleased to learn of magical beings running around the kingdom. "Is he a danger to my men?"

Ila pulled her legs up in front of herself, curling into a ball over her knees. "The healer told me he was in chains, that he can't hurt me anymore. I thought that meant he couldn't hurt anyone."

Xavier accepted her at her word, although he had some concern. If the person they captured was not human..."I will return," he said before heading out into the hallway.

Sileas gave Difyr a half smile. "I believe Wulfsen said there was at least one more wagon with survivors on their way," Sileas explained. Olivia wailed loudly, waving her arms. "Apparently Mama was able to hide Olivia before she..." Sileas's voice broke.

"Please sit down... I'm afraid I don't have much furniture." Difyr picked up Olivia and began unwrapping her to make sure she was not hurt. "A wagon full of injured? Oh dear." Difyr was overwhelmed. It was just her to treat countless injured people, she had lost almost all of her supplies, and she did not even have a cot for patients to sleep on.

Sileas nodded but noticed her father was propping himself against the wall, almost as if he was willing the wall to keep him upright. If he was reinjured in the same place, his back was probably hurting like mad and was afraid to try to sit on the floor.

After Difyr took Olivia to examine, Sileas went over to him and helped him to ease himself down on the floor.

Ila made sure that the cloak was covering herself. She curiously looked at the new people and the baby.
