Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

"Yehudit has had my back from the first day we met," Sileas stated matter-of-factly. "She has a good heart and to be truthful she kept me and Larrigan on the straight and narrow. She's never given up on me, no matter how down I have gotten. None of us are on the streets now. The actions you mentioned no longer matter."

In reply to Difyr Bateman (msg # 85):

Difyr began picking out rubble and cleaning blood from Shawn's chest wound.

"Do you know if you're injured anywhere else?" Difyr asked, wishing she had someone to help her.

"Everything hurts," Shawn admitted. "No. My nose doesn't hurt." He winced as she cleaned the wound. He could feel blood seeping from his back as well.

Difyr sighed, dreading the other seriously injured victims in the wagon. She pressed a wad of bandage to the chest wound. "Hold this here." She instructed and began working on the wound on Shawn's back.

Shawn obediently held the cloth in place. He closed his eyes, missing the rest of his family and wishing they were there. A shiver shook through him.

Difyr hoped Shawn was not developing a fever. She did not need any more trouble than she already had.

Re: The Keep - The Healing Room

A fever was on Shawn's mind as well. A fever usually meant infection and with as much debris in his wounds as he had. "Please tell me I didn't come here and raise Sileas's hopes for no reason."

"I don't know about the strong," Shawn admitted after a moment of silence. "Brie had been after me to come see you. The old injury has been bothering me more as of late. But aye, I will fight as hard as I can for my daughters."

Aislyn poked her head in the doorway. "Difyr? Here are Ila's clothing. Millie did the best she could with what was left."

"You're not going to die, Shawn." Difyr said sternly. Her lecture was interrupted by Aislyn coming with Ila's mended clothing. "Thank you, you can leave it... Somewhere."

The problem with having all her patients in one room, there were two men and one female patient, and the female patient was almost naked. Difyr would need to at least get a curtain to give Ila privacy, she had been through enough already.

Not wanting to get in the way, Aislyn set the stack of mended clothing inside the door. "Let us know if you need anything else."

"Your cousin might want you to say 'hello'." Difyr said distractedly as she worked on the wound on Shawn's back.

Liadan was still wishing Brighid had survived instead of Shawn. She also wished that her husband was sober. She looked at Aron and was tempted to kick him.

Ila peeked from the borrowed cloak. Those were her clothes. But Ila remembered how the conversation had gone badly, and that Nelek's wife did not believe her.

The knights who had gone to the village with Wulfsen began bringing the remaining patients, five in all. A frazzled female elf on the edge of exhaustion followed them. She was covered in dirt, her clothing torn.

Difyr had just finished treating Shawn when five more patients trooped in. One of them looked like an elf. "Aalyssa?!"
