OK, so the fighters are headed back to the ships being repaired. Any steps taken to stop the Imperial fighters doubling back?

Let's just roll anew, and say those rolls were getting into position. At 35,000 miles, you have beams that hit on precision attacks on a 6 or less, and a HPC that would hit on a precision attack of 6 or less, plus size modifier for a regular attack. Out of plasma range though. Predict the enemy will target heavy fighters, of which you have just 5, so you can roll dodge (10) for them just in case.

Our LF are moving with the Vilani fighters, keeping them at bay, if they double back, I expect our fighters would do likewise.

I am unclear as to whether I should just roll once per ship/weapon or multiple times, but for now will do one per system on each craft type.

OK, noting the second heavy fighter survival roll, should I assume that was the second roll I asked about for the ones destroyed, or should it have been Dodge? Feel free to roll damage for the HPC as well if you want.

Your fighters 'escort' the Imperial fighters away from the fight most successfully, as you close in on the capital ships.

You manage to shoot at the enemy cruiser, and despite poor targeting, some damage is still done.

For the HF, one was for their targeting, the other for their survival, which they excelled at ... pity they can't shoot as well.

Not sure how many die to roll for HPC Damage so rolled 3 and you can choose as many as you need

The HPC has 8d damage at this range, -22 DDR (220/10). The heavy fighters do 7d/2 before DDR, like all other beams, x3 for each turret/fighter. Survival is only used if a fighter is destroyed... dodge to not get hit!

The exchange is once again with little result. They cannot close the range to damage the fighters, and you do a little damage to the cruiser.

"You planning to kill me with paper cuts..." they taunt.

You notice they are reverting to precision attacks with the pulse weapons.

You sense some frustration in his voice as the exchange continues to do minor damage, but it is accumulating, as shots fired by the cruiser this time target the Madame Fourcade, clearly for precision but lacking in accuracy.

The beams of the Madame Fourcade, however, manage to cause some confusion. Taking out the maneuver drives of four of the Gashiddas, the entire formation slows to 2G rather than break up.

[Private to Gloria Flake: Rather than precision targeting on the cruisr while beams do half damage, I figured that beams would target the Gashiddas, where armour would not negate their half damage completely.]

OK, makes sense...  I am so frustrated with the dice roller which seems very skewed at 3D6 to numbers ≥ 10. Statistically the thing is out of whack.

The D6 on my desk have a roughly even distribution for above and below 10 (2 hi & 3 lo), the Die roller has a stronger proclivity to roll high (4 out of 5 are 10 or above).

I didn't think the pulse laser would do much vs their (the HFs) armor ...
I'm sort of stuck, can't really get away and can't seem to dispatch these bastards.

How is the captured Gashidda coming along?  It will offer us a bit more zing vs the fighters and give our fighters a few more options.

They have worked out that they need to use precision attacks to get through the armour, a you have demonstrated. Fortunately they are not great shots...perhaps do 2 rounds?

The attacks this time were not much better, though they did dodge effectively.

 Two rolls per item: I went with each turret / Fighter so I could get a few low rolls. With the skewed returns, it's almost impossible to succeed. May lose a HF or two because of this.

They were both rolled in the second round, and included in the second round of results. Did you notice both results? Damage was also shown on Gashiddas...

The music goes on, and you can feel their frustration mounting. Every little bit of damage does something, and the cruiser is starting to show damage. Then Madame Fourcade gets a chance at the two injured vessels, and manages to hit their engines with their turrets, bringing the vessels to a halt. The rest of the fleet stops to consider their options.

OK, Trying to follow ... 2 out of 10 Gashiddas are disabled.
The Cruiser has some serious damage at 46? 4,6? One Bridge and comms?

11 rolls (didn't think the second 15 was a new roll) and 2 results under 10, I could roll D4 and still be making rolls over 9 regularly.

The major damage was at 46 dHP, but the damage roll was sensors. Not so much fun!

The two Gashiddas had their maneuver drive shot out, but were still operational...for now. The heavy particle cannon continues to damage the cruiser, though the only turrets that seem to be able to hit anything at this range seem to be the Imperial ones. Fortunately, the pulse lasers are unable to penetrate the Heavy Fighters armour, a fact for which the pilots are very thankful!
