You hear footsteps approaching the door, before it opens.

We did ... and I am as sure as one can be that we were not followed.

The night passes relatively peacefully. There is the coming and going of a number of militia sirens (that is how they refer to the police here) but you do not hear gunshots. Come morning, you head out to where you saw the shops yesterday. There are crowds milling about...

Well I assume we start by checking the planet's news... then head out to find some acceptable breakfast and listen to the chatter.

The news channels are silent on the matter, only reporting that police raided the homes last night of several extremest groups making wild public claims of atrocities committed by Allied sectors of Dingir.

But talk on the street about the use of nukes on Vilani subjects is rife, but kept under hushed breaths. Most folk stop talking and smile when they see you, and ask how they can help you.

Breakfast is hearty...you find some local avian eggs and a side of some creature that make one of he best substitutes for bacon and eggs you have seen for a long time, and they actually have real potatoes here! Mashed, it goes great with some local sausages, though you do not ask what is in the sausages.

The juice is, well, more like a ginger beer, and the coffee is disappointing, to say the least. The tea, on the other hand is much better. Clear now why you see very few barristers.

We will stick with the tea... Potatoes and sausage... maybe some eggs and a bit of "Bacon"... We listen but offer no information.

We do wonder if our contact is alright, but do not go anywhere near his house. We do some light shopping and poke around for news and bits... also to see what sort of feeling the locals have and if it has changed much. How are the Anukundu reacting?

Detect lies only works when people are telling you something possibly untrue. It does not reveal why they are lying.

Observation are that people are generally not happy about the Anukundu, who are largely keeping to themselves. They are rarely seen off base. Streetwise tells you the video has been seen pretty widely, and does little to endear the Anukundu 'overlords' a term you hear on a handful of occasions.

But your street senses take you and Gardner to an underground bar, where you hear more talk that seem discontent with recruitment taking the local lads on those 'fools errands'. Concern that nukes could be turned on them is also voiced...

We order something mild (not a good time to get drunk) and check it carefully before drinking... we listen and chat with those around, but don't  say anything definitive, just sort of agree and acknowledge the treatment.  we'll spend 30 min to an hour and move on...
