He notes the weapon, then lowers the bat, but does not back down.

Interesting , where did you get that from?

He keeps moving until he is about 8-10 feet away, then motions them to step aside.

"Oh, I don't know, maybe the local news feed? Word on the street is that you were covering the judge that prosecuted them. Was not very subtle, but effective..."

You do know some of these events made it to the news, but you hoped some of the details were lacking...

They guy behind is approaching quickly, though you see no obvious weapon.

"Hey, we don't want to pick a fight with you. We just want to talk...or more to the point, my boss wants to offer a proposal."

He back off a little, but stays in front of you, making getting past him difficult.

OK, Call Jurelda, tell her what's up and that I need to pass a card to her... set my phone so it will show my location if she asks for it, but silent otherwise.

Not so happy about this idea, you didn't mention being alive or healthy.

"As his guest, that is assumed unless you decide not to follow customary protocols."

They wait while you make the call, allowing the one behind you to catch up with you. He hangs back about 10 yards.

You make the call to Jurelda, and within a few minutes she and Gulzina come down the street, clearly armed. They are cool, but surprised to see you on the street.

I move to Jurelda and pass her the card I am supposed to have a breakfast date tomorrow at 8:30 AM in this breakfast place, where i hoped to slip her card back into her things... it's already been a long night and now looks longer.

"A breakfast date, huh." She frowns.

"Right. I will make sure this card works. Perhaps Gulzina should go with you to make sure you are OK?"

Her tone is less than impressed. She takes the card and moves away, without waiting for an answer. Tomorrow could be a long day as well.

OOC - I am not sure why you are having Jurelda act "Cold", since she knew what we came to do; it just turned out to be a girl, so Sdian was the mover. Had it been a guy, Jurelda would hve had to be the mover in order to get the card we need. Our roles could have easily been reversed.

OOC: I know that, you know that and she knows that. But after you took Gulzina to bed, and then some other bimbo, she is feeling like to take anything that moves. I know that is part of your nature, but it does cause some reaction rolls, and they do not all go so well...

Not so sure that Logic is in favour of being with a playboy, but it is the current situation...

But for now, you are a guest for your new 'friends'. You are taken a few blocks, before they ask to cover your head, as they do not want you to know where you are going. For your own protection, of course. You know it may we be at least partially true though...but usually they do not ask!

Re: The Minnow II

In reply to Sdian McGuire (msg # 940):

They place a hesian bag over your head and continue on. After about 15 minutes, they pull up to a house and usher you out of the car, bag still on head, and you move a bit, before the bag is removed in a large home. You are then taken into the next room, a large conference room, where a number of well dressed gentlemen in suits are seated, waiting for you. They indicate a seat, and wait for you to be seated.

"I guess you are wondering why the precautions. In normal times, we might not deal with lawkeepers, but these are not normal times.

We are one of the oldest organised crime families in the region. I looked up your name, but found instead an old ship 'Minnow' commanded by a guy named Darren Spucketti. Ironically, Jamie here dealt with him, and reckons you are the spitting image of Darren. Seeing you are flying Minnow II, we figured we could take a chance trusting you, especially since you are already on the bad side of they guys we need to deal with.
"

They pause to let that conversation sink in.

"So we have suffered under Homaker. They are taking our customers, but more importantly, they are intent on blaming us for their crap. So we have found out about the operation, and where they are doing it. But that is enough of what we are about, so before we continue, can we count on your help to deal with these pricks?"

You recognise the face of one of the men off to the right hand side, who is smiling quietly. He smiles a little more as you look at him.

It was a long time ago, and only a fleeting visit. A short run of questionable goods for a local criminal gang. Weapons, maybe?

Jamie responds "Johnny was the one who worked with him. A close relative, I am guessing? Whatever happened to him?"
