Your description leads me to see issues,such large creatures might have serious dexterity issues and need special arrangements for their place in the ship. People from Primitive backgrounds will struggle with all this technology, so I am less excited about these sorts, although the rock people might be good at storming ships.

To move things along a little, Inspector Liken confirms there is a bounty to find the rest of the crew of the pirate ship (Standard $10,000 per individual involved in piracy, with evidence), which are still missing. Other than that, there have been reports of another ship reputedly having set up a drug farm in a very remote location (with covers about 98% of the planet). This pays $50,000 for shutting down the farm, plus the above rates for each individual in piracy. If they are only farming illegal drugs, the bounty drops to $5,000 per individual, and if they are farming legal drugs but selling them on the black market (such as medical drugs, which often attract high taxes) then the bounty drops to $1,000 per individual, with evidence. No guarantee the two are not related.

There is also a missing local lad, for whom his parents will pay $40,000. All they could muster. Boy went out from the family farm on the outskirts of the town and just disappeared. He was riding an offroad bike.

Finally, there is a scientific expedition that would like to pay $100,000 for a three month expedition to survey local life on the planet. They are looking for a ship and crew for that time to act as guards and transportation.

Other than that, there is not a lot the local boys can't handle.

Well given our contract, the three month gig is impossible.
We ask about what is to be done with the old Iiken we captured.
It could allow us to take on some of these missions/tasks.

They are still holding it as evidence. The prisoners are being held until evidence from Girii can be brought to bear. You took the request back with you when you returned from that mission, but they still expect it to take another month. Court date is set for 23 Mar 2184.

But Likens believes most of these tasks can be accomplished with little more than a shuttle, as they are fighting mainly on the surface for the most part.

You could take up to a week here without undue interruption to the schedule.

If that is the case, let's get the shuttle out and go looking. Somehow I suspect the lad may have come across the druggies... hopefully they did not off him.

You have the last known location, but the country is quite wild with long grass growth had heavy woodlands. From the shuttle, it is hard to see much, but if you had someone who could track you might be better off...such as Leticia

Leticia is fine (in all respects) , but i thought we also had sensors of various sorts as well.

You do, but it has been 2 weeks since he disappeared, so using sensors will be like looking for a needle in a haystack, even with extensive re-calibration. The hills are many and the overgrowth thick, with many caves and rocks. That is what the locals initially relied on.

No argument, but fires and creatures are thermally active and quite noticeable, even if back in a cave a ways for fires

Yes, fires are noticeable. There are none you can detect. Nothing obviously human for creatures either.

OK, So we land off slightly from the last location for the boy and see if Leticia can find anything ... we have a couple of guys go with her.
The ship then goes back up for over watch and fire support if needed
