ADVENTURE: What to do Now?

"Felipe? Felipe?" Trager stared at Isabeau. "Did you really just... name the brain with legs?" He shook his head, keeping his eyes on the dangling thing.

"I don't know that it's a good idea to trust anything here," he finally said. "But if we somehow have a way of ensuring it is no danger to us..." he trailed off.

He didn't like this. This place made his skin crawl, and something was tickling that place in the back of brain that told him something was wrong. Of course something is wrong, he thought. There's an endless sky outside, she's holding a brain that can talk to you in your mind, and you have a slug in your left eye. No, all of that is completely normal.

ADVENTURE: What to do Now?

Trager spoke the words Adora was thinking. You don't name a thing you're planning on killing.

She looked at the druid incredulously for a moment, her right eye twitching. Then she straightened up and ran her hands over her hair, smoothing it out. It was a mess from being taken, but she tried for some semblance of dignity. Once she felt just a little better about her self, she walked over to Isabeau and then leaned down so her face was on level with the brain.

"Okay, Mister Brain. I've got a few questions for you before we talk about how to get off this flying death-trap. First, what do you call yourself. You're self aware, surely you have some kind of name for yourself or your... erm... race? And what assurance can we have that you won't betray us and that you'll really show us how to get out of here? One sign of you screwing us and we'll use you for eldritch skeet shooting. Got it?"

The brain thing projects, "I only wish to escape, same as I'm sure you do. Assurance? I haven't taken over any of your bodies yet."

ADVENTURE: What to do Now?

EDi mulled over the small creatures words, nodding along to himself that the creature indeed had a point in that regard, none of them had been taken over yet...at least that he could tell. Gun still drawn he slowly approached the creature, still in Isabeau's outstretched arms, with Adora peering over her shoulder at it, both looking intently at the creature. This was most assuredly the kind of situation that required a delicate approach.

"Pardon me, ladies..."  He smiled politely as he spoke softly at them, his eyes locked on the brain-like creature, still wriggling and dripping the odd bit of whatever onto the floor. His voice got a little louder as he addressed the.....thing.

"Basura says 'No.'..."   He shrugged, almost noncommittally as he twirled the old and damaged pistol around his finger a few times before reaching beneath the creature pressing the cold steel barrel of the weapon facing straight up in the center of what he hoped was a delicate underbelly. There was a split second before...

BOOM!!!

The roar of the shot died down, but EDi was more than a bit surprised by the fact that the thing was indeed still alive...very much alive...

"Huh...?    He said convincingly.  "Oh!  OhWhoa!!"    He shouted, dancing back quickly, opening up some room between himself and the creature.  He flicked his weapon down, opening the breach as he struggled to reload amidst his own shock. It was supposed to be dead!  This was bad.

Trager shook his head, his ears ringing. The sound of the gun in the enclosed space, even this large a room, was loud. The brain wiggled violently in Isabeau’s hands. He raised his shield and shifted his grip on the hammer. He paused, not wanting to hit the Elf holding it, then readied to hit it the moment it left her hands.

Adora was willing to attempt parlay with the brain thing and almost said so, but then EDi let his gun blast the thing."Shit! Holy Fuck!" she cried, jumping back and pulling eldritch power to her hand in case the brain tried ro attack Isabeau or anything like that.

21:36, Today: Isabeau Thorne rolled 16 using 1d20+2 ((14)).

Isabeau wasn't fazed by EDi's kaboom. She just stood with her hand still outstretched. With a look of disappointment for two reasons. One, EDi didn't actually kill the brain thing and Two, why would he kill it if Felipe maybe the only thing that can or could get them off the ship.

She sighed a long sigh. "Did you really have to do that EDi? Hmmm..." Giving EDi a glare.

Isabeau gives EDi the glare.

ADVENTURE: What to do Now?

She was still holding it? Why was she still holding it? He closed the breach of Basura once more aiming at the brain-like creature in the strange Elfs hands. The bard...Brad maybe?...was still on his knees, screaming, so EDi moved off to the side for a better angle, and to keep an eye on him. He hoped that it had nothing to do with the slug thing that other strange creature had put in everyones eye.  He was still in a bit of shock that his first shot had not killed the creature entirely, this thing was appreciably tougher than he originally thought for something made out of someones brain.

"Put it down!  Put it down so we can kill it!"

He aimed once more at the creature, keeping it in his sights.

Isabeau gave EDi another glare. "What do you think you are doing?" She waited a moment before adding a "Hmm." Her arms still out stretched with the Brain in her hands. "If you shoot me, you and I are going to lock horns. Beside if shooting it the first time didn't work, What makes you think that you will be able to shoot and kill it a 2nd time."

She looked around. Realizing how much she wanted to get off this bloody ship. "Can we come up with a way to get off this ship that doesn't involve pew pew-ing things."

ADVENTURE: What to do Now?

Adora looked at Brad writhing in pain. Then she looked up at the brain in Isabeau's hands. Was this a wood elf thing or a druid thing to be so obstinate?

She felt the energy for her held spell fizzle and shook her hand not holding her sword. EDi called for Isabeau to drop the brain and the latter called for parlay.

"Devil's advocate is not usually my style, but I have to side with her, EDi. Hey, Brain! If you're hurting Brad, stop it. If you don't, I will retaliate."

She moved to stand beside EDi. "Look. I get what you're doing. I really do, but strange circumstances make for strange allies. i meant what I said about blowing it to oblivion. Lets just stay on our toes and blow it away at the first sign of treachery. Okay?"

-----
Held action, Edritch Blast if the assault on Brad doesn't stop.

Trager looked back and forth as the argument before him took place. He shook his head and growled from his chest. He sheathed his hammer as he took the step to reach Isabeau's outstretched arms and reached to grab the brain.

Trager struggled against Isabeau’s grip on the brain. She’s stronger than she looks, he thought, before he finally wrested the thing from her with a grunt.

He turned and took the few steps to the edge of the platform, lifted the brain overhead, and threw it at the hole in the side of the ship, out of which was still visible the vast expanse of that eternal abyss.

OOC: use my Action Surge for the throw, which lets me take an extra action.

"Well that happened" Adora said. Her held spell failed again. Oh well. At least it wasn't one of the good ones.

She edged toward Brad and used her toe to try to determine the man's state of living. By prodding him experimentally.

ADVENTURE: What to do Now?

EDi watched the brief struggle between Trager and Isabeau. Now they were fighting over the damned thing? His momentary confusion was drastically reduced when the old soldier promptly threw the creature out of the hole in the far wall, leaving it to disappear off into the distance. It suddenly felt appreciably safer there in the damaged ship as far as he was concerned. He watched Adora move to check on the fallen human....Brad, was it? Now the new elf was questioning Trager? Now she was concerned that the creature was no longer here...was she really that trusting of anything that climbed out of a dead mans head? Plus...she claimed to have horns, he was fairly positive Elves didn't have horns. At least none of the male ones he had seen had.

He took a good moment to calm himself down...gunslingers always had to stay calm, but this was his first really big adventure and he was trying to do his best. A quick check to ensure that Basura was indeed still loaded, and a follow up twirl of the weapon returned it down to its coinpurse holster.  He adjusted the moldy rug poncho into something at least attempting towards decently placed and moved over towards Trager.

"Well....at least that parts over, yeah? Nice toss."
