M3: At the Ship

16:55, Today: Forim Luk rolled 1 success using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 1P 2A 3D 1S 1B.  Rolling Mechanics.

Forim says "I am going to try to cobble together a mini drone.  Something that can fly into the ducts and follow the slime trail.  I will rig it up with one of our cameras, so we can follow along and control it remotely.  You two droids see what you can find while I build this thing."

Putting actions to words, he found an old blaster trainig remote that he had meant to fix up.  Pulling it apart he removed the affected circuts, added a camera, and then hooked that into the tiny machines remote transmitting circuit.  It was not pretty, but it could be easily controlled.

About 10 minutes later, Forim had the thing working.  "Roger, you can tap into channel one-alpha-six-niner.  No encryption, standard video encoding.  That should let you see what it sees at least."  It was a short range transmitter, the hull would block the transmission easily, so there was never any need for encryption on such a device.

He then fires up his console, and pulls up the video feed.  Next, he sends it off to follow the slime path, catching up with what Roger has found in the process...

The little remote flies erratically through the pipes, banking and weaving. Forim follows along on the monitor as Roger pilots the little drone. It isn't hard to follow the trail. A bright green slime is streaked along the pipes.

Forim notes that you seem to be following the ship's organic reprocessors: the plumbing.

Moments after entry you find what you are seeking. An oozy green blob, dripping fluid as it bumped its way down the narrow channel. Although largely amorphous, its translucent body seemed to reveal a crude skeleton inside that gave it shape. It had one external orifice, a toothy mouth. This mouth bumped along the reprocessor main line.

Channel one-alpha-six-niner, roger roger.”   Roger moves to a panel and dials in the channel, watching the grainy image as the drone moved along.  “If that thing breaches the reprocessor line, there’s going to be one awful mess to clean.”  Roger ties his comlink into the ship comms, “I’m going to catch that thing before it causes more problems.

Roger climbs down into the access spaces and begins following the trail, shining his glow rod to find the way.

Roger crawls down the access tubes, lined though they are with wiring and pipes. His minimal frame allowed him a much easier time moving around in the tight quarters than a full-sized humanoid, but there's still not a lot of room to dodge.

It doesn't take long to catch up with the slime-creature. The blobby thing 'turns' and extends pseudopods towards Roger.

While Roger works his way through the cubby, Forim spends some time trying to track the path to find the deckplate that it is currently under.

He gets all the tools ready to quickly get the plate off, but does not want to spook the creature.  He watches the monitor closely, and will remove the deck plate if needed.

Forim has been following the action with the remote, and from listening to the clanking beneath the plating he is fairly sure where things are going on. Then the noise indicates that Roger has found something. Forim prepares to open the plating.

(Vigilance roll to be ready to act.)

Blob's Soak value is 3
All Roger's attacks have 1 setback while cramped in the tunnels.
Roger's Soak value is Brawn x 2 against Blob's attacks due to being inorganic

OOC - my plan is to try to squish it, but I probably won;t have time until about Friday (unless I manage some time to sneak a peek at the rules) to figure out the combat dice pool until about Friday.  Hopefully I'll post sooner, but I may not :P

You roll your brawling skill, with 2D difficulty.  GM has added 1S to your dice pool for the cramped quarters.

With 1 Brawn and no points in the Brawl skill, your Dice pool is 1A. 2D because all close-quarters attacks are 2D. 1 S because tight quarters. Total dice pool is 1A 2D 1S. You're like C-3P0 trying to do a judo flip while trapped in a plastic bag.

Forim uses the distraction to remove the deck plate screws, but not lift it up just yet.  He uses his own weight to ensure it stays down.

The Force rolled 2 successes, 1 threat using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3A 2D. Blob attack!
takes 1 strain.
Inflicts 7 damage pre-soak.
Subtract your Soak value from this damage to determine how much damage you take. Remember that for this fight, Roger's Body is treated as x2 due to his inorganic nature.

The blob monster extends its pseudopod towards Roger. It loses a little intracellular fluid doing so as it stretches its membrane to the limit.

Forim holds the plate down with the weight of his body, ready to lift it off at a moment's notice.

Forim, watching the comedy that is the B1 battle droid try to grapple with the thing, wonders if he could make a few creds selling the video.

Pushing that thought aside he lifts the floor up, draws his weapon and fires a stun bolt into the creature.

ooc:
Maneouver: Draw Floor
Maneover: Draw Gun (2 Strain)
Action: Boom town. 3 successes, 4 advantages, 1 triumph.
Using Stun to prevent damage to the ship, and to the droid.

09:05, Today: Forim Luk rolled 3 successes, 3 advantages, 1 triumph using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3P 1A.  Holdout.

Forgot to add Difficulty.
10:10, Today: Forim Luk rolled no successes, 1 threat using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 1D.

3 advantages to trigger a crit
1 Triumph to have the stun bolt affect its locomotive ability, so he is unable to run away.
11 Stun damage pre soak.

The blobby creature becomes disoriented. It succumbs to gravity, collapsing in a neat round puddle. It violently extends a pseudopod in the wrong direction, then withdraws it. It tries again, this time aiming in approximately Roger's direction.

The Force rolled 1 success, 2 threats using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3a 2d.  Blob attack reprise. 6 damage pre-soak

The creature's pseudopod again strikes Roger's cranium. However, the creature's poor 'footing' leaves it unexpectedly overbalanced. The blob creature lodges itself into a crevice between two pipes. It shrieks and flails a dozen tiny pods, trying to gain purchase.

3 advantages to trigger a crit
1 advantage to pass a boost to Roger (add 1B to your roll)
11 Stun damage pre soak.

I also forgot to roll the crit!
Crit 1: Head Ringer: The target increases the difficulty of all Intellect and Cunning checks by one until the end of the encounter.
Crit 2: Distracted: The target cannot perform a free maneuver during his next turn.

The blob shudders and begins to disincorporate. Much of the goo oozes off the creature, leaving a smaller, more solid pouch of silvery-grey goo around its 'skeleton.' It ceases attacking and moving.

He checks the display to see if he can ID them.
