Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Dienton nods at Ikki, "I suggest two of us head to the cantina and make contact.  The rest can hole up here in the meantime.  Once our friend here is off our hands, we can scout for Caddy".

OOC
I think onyx and ikki should go.  Two humans should be less noticable than a Chadra Fan and a Duros who walk into a bar - insert punchline.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

"Ikki would be best to lead the Caddy rescue" Forim agrees "And A Duros looks at home in any spaceport.  But I spent some time playing cards with Jabba's thugs so I might have been maid."

Forim lets out a deep sigh and says "We need to get the cargo off planet.  Dienton and I found ourselves pretty useless on ground missions, so I suggest we split up.  Dienton and I can get the cargo off planet and come back for you.  Anyone without ground combat abilities should come with us.  Ikki can lead the rescue operation with Onyx as heavy support if needed."

With a short pause he says to Ikki "Scout out and see what you can get.  Don't move just yet, as we can perhaps strike two birds with one stone - you stage your resuce after we get the cargo loaded on a ship - you smash, grab, and we swoop in on the ship and then make for space - everyone aboard."

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Dienton growled a little as he was described as useless.  He had taken care of multiple enemies alone before the Duros had bothered to even show up!

His thought had been to leave the Verpine with Cole, per the mission briefing, since sneaking him through the "locked down" spaceport would be difficult at best.  But if Ikki could find a way in, then . . ok.

He remembered the comm unit he had taken from Jabbas thugs.  With a moment to breath, finally, he took another crack at breaking the encription.  With his previous attempt and the tools available in the shed, he felt his chances were better.

With a shrill squeal the comlink came to life.  He listened to the chatter for any sign that their route to the shed had been made.

Beaming, he turned to the group, waving the commlink "Idea, what if we use Jabbas encripted channel here to lead Jabba thugs to believe the Verpine was captured by the imperials and they have detained him at the starport?  Think they would try to get him back?  Giving us a distraction to use a side entrance?  This has the side benefit of covering our tracks."

Dienton manages to snap the encrypted commlink's signal wide open. Aside from a quiet hum, nothing seems to be broadcasting right now.

In reply to Dienton (msg # 276):

I'd definitly be down for that, but the problem is by now the hutts have probably disabled the comms from the guys we took out. Even if they haven't It won't be easy to convince them that the guys who got taken out at the moisture farm know what happened to Verpine.

Back in the groundtruck...

Caddy struggles with the drivers, but before she can stop them the door opens wide. A dozen stormtroopers stand with blasters leveled. The seargent who shot her earlier levels a pistol.

"Don't move, Rebel," he warns.

Ikki looked over to Dienton "I get the feeling that the Imperials are working with Jabba around here..." He gave is own two credits before turning to the Duros "Got it, let's finish this up before things get too hot around here.....no pun intended..." Ikki added as he remembered what planet they were one althought it was hard to forget the heat.

Turning to Onyx "Ready to scout around?"

Caddy cowered in fear as the storm-troopers levelled their rifles as her.   If they search her, they'll find no weapon, no ID and no reason to believe she is a rebel, "Please... don't shoot me again!  I just want to get away, to live!"

[OOC: Please roll a Deception - for them to believe she is innocent (rather than a rebel): 1A 2P.  No doubt she'll have some negative - setback - as she's attacked the storm troopers vehicle, but they had shot her - an innocent - once before and her story is 'plausible' if northing else - which could be a boost.]

The Storm Troopers refrain from shooting their new captive. Whether they believe her or not is immaterial, as they immediately arrest her. Caddy is searched, cuffed, and blindfolded. She hears the trucks door case closed with an ominous sound.

Dienton moves over to Onyx using strips of cloth to bind his wound.  He applies salves to dull the pain using the little material he had on hand.  He needed to save his one remaining stim pack for the battles ahead.

The alliance had failed to equip him with a proper medkit so this was more difficult than it should have been, but even so, using his ingenuity, he made some progress.

I need some better equipment soon - sheesh

She doesn't struggle, trying to keep up the confusion of her 'play' and accepts being blindfolded, whimpering as it is done but saying no more.  Hopefully one of the Stormtroopers might take pity on her.   For now, she has to hope that her team have taken the Vespin away and that her delay had given them enough time to do so.

Dienton looks towards Forim, Jeron, and the Verpine "Shall we go", he moves towards the Verpine and makes a series of overly complex, yet subtly obvious hand gestures to indicate a ship leaving the planet.  Hoping he got the message, he heads towards the door of the shed and peeks out scanning the area before stepping into the sunlight.

OOC
My intention is to head to the cantina to see if Cole can either arrange passage or offer suggestions as to how we can get into the starport.

Ikki nods back to his fellow outdoorsman "Sounds good to me, if not we can follow their tracks if they left any..." Ikki agreed as he pull his collar up and attempted to hide his face a little more "Let's get our teammate back and get off this dustbowl." He nods to Onyx as he prepares to find out where they took Caddy.

The former moisture farmer Cole is still waiting by the cantina. When you arrive, he greets you.

"Oh, good. I was worried you got caught up in the riot."

Meanwhile, Caddy can hear the rest of the stormtroopers pile into the truck. Now it's packed tight in here. The groundcar begins moving.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Dienton, who had not met Cole yet, moved up with Forim in tow for introductions.  "Sir, well met" he beamed up at the tall human (all humans being tall to him), "we have accomplished much of what we set out to do, but we need to arrange for final delivery.  Can we speak here?"

OOC - Assume Cole either agrees to talk here or we move to a secluded corner of his choice - END OCC

Dienton continues "The spaceport may be in lock down and we want to avoid any imperial entanglements." He again smiled, this time a bit nervously.  "Can you arrange transport for one passenger back to our mutual friends?  If not, perhaps you could help us put him up in a safe house for a few weeks until the pressure dies down and use simple commercial transport?"

After some discussion with Cole, Dienton also asks, "do you have access to a translator droid that speaks Verpine?"

Cole takes you through an alley door to the the backroom of a cafshop. The owner pokes his head in to the backroom. When he sees who it is, he closes the door without saying anything.

He looks at the verpine and nods. "Yeah, I think we can get him out safe. But I don't speak verpine," he cautions.

Then the verpine speaks up. "Eggs-cuze pleeeeeze. I speak some Baaaaazic." It turns to you and clasps its hands together before its face. "Thank you for szzzavingk me."

Dientons perma-grin broadens as the Verpine speaks.  He chuckles and says to the Verpine "thats good to know!  And you are welcome.  This man" Dienton inidicates Cole " is going to get you off world to a safe place.  I hope to see you again.  While you travel, please think about joining us.  The injustice of the empire and their Hutt lapdogs needs to be opposed.  You could help in that fight"

Dienton sweeps his hands through the air " we are all in this together!"

Turning to Cole, "what have you heard about the spaceport?  We overheard it is in lockdown"

OOC
My duty is personel, so hopefully this recruiting attempt will work out.  Let me know if you want a roll.

Cole gives a sardonic laugh. "Oh, right. The 'lockdown.' There's only one stormtrooper squad in this town. I guess the civilians could do something, if they weren't dealing with a riot right now."

The verpine shakes Cole's hand and sits down on a box.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

The Rebels make their way to the starship landing field. They are scoping out the situation to ensure no surprises await them when the roar of an engine catches their attention.

The rebels have occupied an abandoned building across the road. It's only a few hundred meters away from the entrance, but no-one wants to use it because of the noise of starships landing at all hours.

The Rebels conceal themselves from view when the same groundtruck they just escaped comes rolling up at high speed. It stops in a swerve, throwing up clouds of sand. The rear door begins to open.

All Rebels except Caddy roll Stealth with 2 Boosts.
Each advantage on the Stealth roll adds 1 Boost to Initiative roll.

All characters roll initiative: Vigilance or Cool at your discretion.

Ikki quickly taps the person next to him and points out the groundtruck, it looked exactly like the one that showed up at the compound. Quickly and quietly he pops his head down and draws his rifle, as he prepared for an ambush, looks like there would be one more round of combat today after all. He moves to a position close to a window and looks at his teammates and gives them a nod to show he was ready when they were.

Ikki Sorlock rolled 2 successes, 3 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 1p 2a 3b with rolls of 2(P), 6(A), 6(A), 3(B), 6(B), 1(B).  Stealth.
