Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Jeron slipped back in to the cantina, but he did notice his two companions coming up behind him. He gave a nod to them but kept his face serious. He had a feeling that the Gamorrean might work for Jabba the Hutt. If he was right, this might be a chance to find out something for the mission. He took a seat and tried to look casual as he kept an ear out.

In reply to Caddanra 'Caddy' Manitu (msg # 48):

Ikki nodded to Caddy "I may of started a small riot....but we can see that the Imperials aren't doing a good job here from that." Ikki explains as he follows her along to the Cantina.

"I got...papers. I couldn't get into the safe, I can always try again but I think they'll be more catious after what happened there. Any success on your end?" Ikki asks Caddy as he kept one eye on the Cantina. He didn't want to get too much attention at the moment.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

As Caddy gets a drink and has a quiet word with Ikki, one of the Gamorrean's henchmen spies them. A malevolent grin crosses his face. He murmurs something to the one sitting beside him, and they walk over towards you.

"[Language unknown: Ut, aienss. Ant mowe oulany'evehat nc]?" he says, addressing Ikki, although he is making challenging eye contact with Caddy. His compatriot snickers. Both glance surreptitiously back towards the thickly-muscled gamorrean. The big creature is currently drinking out of a pitcher, with two more waiting on the table.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Ikki looked blank as once again he was spoken to in a language that he didn't understand. Perhaps he should of learnt more in his travels as he noted this lack of skill. With Caddy looking expectant of him to understand, guess she didn't know what he was saying either.

Sighing inside his head as he once again had to ask for basic "Sorry, I can only speak Basic..." although it seemed like they were looking for trouble, he decided to keep up the niceties until he knew for sure.

The thug with him struggles to explain. "My friend he is asking. He asking, is this girl person bothering with you?" Both thugs have predatory looks on their faces, and keep glancing back at the gamorrean for approval.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

A man of little thought and considering they were struggling to 'speak' or even direct their conversation, Caddy answered.  "No thank you.   The girl-person," she motions to Ikki, "Is not bothering me - although you can tell your boss that I'm here on behalf of Clebdir and that time's ticking."

[The aim here is to firstly confuse then with Ikki, then confuse them further with the Officer's name thrown in.  I figure a suitable deception roll will do it?  2P, 1A for me.  And I'd suggest as I'm using a name and big words I might confuse them easily - Boost dice?]

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Jeron tensed slightly but tried to stay still and seated. He knew that the thugs coming over was intended to try and start a fight. He was ready for one, but hoping it wouldn't be necessary. He didn't think Caddy needed him to rescue her, she seemed very capable, so he bided his time and stayed quiet - but favored the two thugs with a slight smirk and cold eyes, not a challenge just yet, just a warning sign.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

The two men glance at each other and then start laughing. One wipes a tear from his eyes as the other points at Ikki and laughs.

The gamorrean looks over at the sudden outburst of laughing. He stands up sharply, knocking the chair over and upsetting one of the pitchers on the table. The big creature ponderously walks over towards the group.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Jeron played his part perfectly and despite the spike of irritation at the laughing thugs she remained silent only to be rewarded by gamorrean standing and moving over towards their table.  She therefore purposefully ignored the pair in favour of looking at their 'boss' and carefully nodding to him - making sure to make eye contact as she does.  Respect for an equal - no more and no less.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Jeron let out a quiet sigh as things progressed. He took notice when the gamorrean stood up suddenly and began heading their way. Wonderful.

He shifted his leg slightly so he could surreptitiously draw his blaster pistol but keep it hidden under the table. It was set for stun already so he didn't have to try and fiddle with the setting without looking at it, which might have looked awkward or caused him to set it incorrectly. He aimed it under the table at the gamorrean, knowing it would take more than one shot if it came to that. And he didn't intend to start a fight unless he had no choice. He'd try to intimidate them first if Caddy didn't handle it.

OOC: That's 3A for Streetwise, if that would be applicable (and the same for sleight of hand or something if you want that too).

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Before Ikki even has a chance to respond, he's made the butt of a joke.Looking at Caddy with disbelief before staring right at her with a look that could kill as the thugs start laughing at him. He becomes increasing tempted to pick up the chair and smash it over his dumb face. Pushing his teeth so tight they felt like they might break, he settled his clenching fist under the table. As he prayed that it would come down to a brawl....maybe he'd 'accidentally' knock the table in Caddy as well.

Simmering in his humiliation and anger, he dared not say anything as anything that would come out of his mouth in this state, would be more an colorful.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

The gamorrean approaches and stares at Caddy. His huge eyes narrow as he stares her down.

The Rancor rolled no successes, 3 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2A 3D.  Coercion: Krumrush v. Caddy.

The creature snuffles the air, its immense nostrils audible in the near-silence. Meanwhile, Jeron eases his gun out under the table.

The gamorrean Krumrush, who styles himself 'Rancor,' blinks and looks away. He turns and stalks back towards his table.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Unphased by the rather pathetic attempt at intimidation, Caddy then looked back at the other two - specifically the one who'd spoken to her already, "Tick Tock, tick tock.   Clebdir isn't a man to be kept waiting...."  Maybe they know him, maybe they don't - but Caddy has demonstrated her own will in front of the larger of the three so hopefully the other two will toe the line.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Jeron watched the Gamorrean walk away and then turned his gaze back to the other two. He gave them a quiet stage whisper. "In case it was unclear, this is the part where you two walk away without tryin' t'look like you're backin' down." He made a quick shooing motion with the hand not holding the blaster, and then smiled widely at Caddy. "Hello, pretty girl."

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

The two thugs facing Caddy look at each other in confusion, and then back at their gang leader. He seats himself at the table with his back to you, and resumes drinking. The bartender is hurriedly filling a pitcher to replace the one he knocked over.

"Who is Clebdir?" the thug that speaks Basic says wonderingly. "Is he one of Jabba's men?"

Gah.... I got the wrong group!  Though maybe this can still be salvaged.  She raises an eyebrow, "What do you think?"  Spoken with some venom.   Let him think what he thinks but as leading as that question is, she hopes he'll react appropriately.

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

Jeron watched the confusion spreading on the thugs as Caddy tried to dupe them. At least he thought that's what she was trying to do. He wasn't sure where she was going with this.

He very quietly spoke to her out of the side of his mouth as he kept his eyes on the thugs and the gamorrean. "Hope you know what you're doin', darlin'. Let me know if you need some intimidation or blastin'."

Caddy smiled and looked to Jeron, her reply being similarly couched in softly spoken tones for those at the table, only, to hear: "You're doing just fine.   While there appears to be some confusion as to who I was supposed to be meeting, let's run with it and see where it takes us.  We're definitely short on info about the Huts and these guys seem to know a thing or two."

Re: RJ: Mos Espa

The thugs leave their leader behind and congregate in the centre of the cantina. They have a powwow there, glancing out at Caddy & Ikki, and occasionally at their leader. He continues to ignore everyone, and finishes the second pitcher. He belches loudly.

One of them makes for the door, trying to avoid making direct eye contact with Caddy. The others affect an impression of disinterest, looking all around. They glare haughtily at the nearby spacers & moisture farmers, who glance away.

Jeron frowned a bit at the strange behavior of the 'minion thugs'. He wondered what they were up to.

OOC: Is there any sort of roll we can make to translate their intentions from body language or anything?
