There was a wicked smile upon her face as she then allowed her spell to take hold of his Evocation spell.  As she noticed he wanted to grab hold of her daughter and pull her to him, but instead she wanted to manipulation him magic in twisted and creative ways.

As the storm was brewing outside and the lightening was flashing, she focused on the elements of nature of Lightening itself.  Sending his Invisible strings of magic to wrap around the lightening and let him pull that down to him, with a good amount of force.

You quickly overpower his spell, it was only about 2 SP more than enough to lift a child. Your next move to redirect the flows of energy to backfire by drawing upon the energy of the clouds. Indeed a bright flash of light erupted in the room, and the window shattered at the lighting passed it. The other wizard was fast enough to throw bolt (which he had some minor control over since it was his spell) down on the ground rather than take the hit.

He redoubled his attack again, casting another spell quickly, this time though it was odd. A combination of sorcery and evocation, what was worse is that the sorcery's purpose seemed to be to hide the evocation spells so you couldn't interfere with them!

((was he able to cast two spell at once?))

The Arbiter:
Quick tip when it comes to Discipline.

Lets say you make the spell "Make Rock Float". For 1 SP

Remember one of the ways to make it last longer than 1 round is to concentrate.
You Discipline comes into play here. You can squeeze out a little more time equal to your discipline (1 round).

So with a discipline of 2+ you can cast: Round 1: Make Rock Float for 1 SP with a push to make it last as long as you can. Round 2: Cast Throw Fireball a dumb wizard watching the rock. Round 3: Re-concentrate on the Make Rock Float spell, taking it back into your mental reins.

Quick tip on Sorcery.

Also my you might have noticed my ruling before on sorcery: You have to match the SP to do anything. You must Double the SP to make it x1.5 as strong. Double that to make it x2.

This means a 1 Mana spell with 1 Form +1 Str = 3 Sp.
You must spend 12 SP to get it to 6 SP.

What you can also do is cast a field of Mana-empowerment. This can last Instant + X Rounds where X is your discipline. This means with 1+ discipline you have time to cast THROUGH the Mana-empowerment spell. (Security note: So can other wizards, so be careful with that around them). It costs 10 SP to raise your Mana multiplier +1, 20 SP for +2, 40 SP for +3.

This means if sorcery is higher than the school you want to use, perhaps it might be wise spend Mana on that if you have the time.

Of course someone with a high Evocation + Str is going to say "fuck all that" and just blow up anything they want Round 1.

Also instead of +1 to the Mana Multiplier field, you can make a "magic stabilizing", you can have x2 the spell length for 10 SP, x3 for 20, x4 for 40 and so on.

Sadly since Lore isn't used to cast (but is instead you knowledge of magic and magical things) sorcery can't really affect it. (Invocation can!)

((Nope, he's casting a single spell. Two spells at once would take a very high talent, but there was never a rule banning combined forms. They are trickier, you have to have the discipline for it. In this case, he's performing a cloaked spell, which while the spell effect is evocation the fact that is it hidden from normal magic-senses is sorcery. Your correct that it's not traditional, but it is possible. You can still counter-spell at this point though, duel-Form spells take longer to cast generally.))

Her eyes sparkled slightly when she noticed the Wizard using the Form of Sorcery to cast his next spell.  Closing her eyes and looking down to the ground for a moment she was preparing herself for the twisted effect of the oncoming spell.

But she also was preparing her own spell and as she watched his spell form with a bit of hidden Evocation it would surely cause some damage upon her but she had to be strong, she had to take what was coming to save her daughter.

As the spell came closer to her she raised her head and looked at the Wizard and made eye contact with it.  Surely it was looking at her and she was looking at him.

Her own spell was intricate as well, for she used the Mana flow from him to aid her in her own effect.  Sorcery was surely a Form of Magic that was tricky to deal with for it was Mana the mystery.  Her spell followed the flow of Mana back to the Wizard spell of Sorcery.  Her own Sorcery spell was laced with Enchantment.

As her spell followed along the flow of Mana from the Wizard it bypassed his own wards and directly flowed inside of his body.  And that was when Queen Titania's true form of spell took shape.

The Enchantment was her only chance of winning this battle, if it succeeds then she would be rid of him and the life of her child would be safe for now.  Until the next foolish Wizard would come to try to claim what they don't own.

Her Enchantment was a simple spell but powerful.

This Enchantment spell was to put him to sleep.  That would be good enough for Queen Titania to move quickly to his body and place the dagger on her hip deep into his heart.

While your intent was genuine and your method would have defiantly caused some issue to himself or if not that then his wards, there wasn't a time to try. He had begun his casting before yours, and your own spell, as it too was complex as well and took additional time to complete.

This time as the spell was unleashed with the final words his own spell, an the child behind you was cast yanked upwards from behind you and soared to him where a hand of white with nasty purple boils reached from out of his robes and strongly grabbed the girl.

You were able to unleash your attack on his Ward right after though, at this stage it was a matter of over powering the ward. Your own sorcery flushing out every twist and turn, straightening the lines of power that lead to the enemy wizard, so that your encapsulated enchantment would get to him.

His ward did slow down your effect though, and he was able to shout a command word and a blast of sorcery shot out towards your own strings of magic. His was simple though, a counterspell which the sorcery laced enchantment attempted to hit. The sorcery part of your spell was indeed affected and ripped to shred, the shell broken. But the Enchantment encapsulated within wasn't hit at all, and filled his ward to the bring before affecting the wizard himself. While indeed you had been looking into his face, and he towards you the pure eye contact wasn't there for a clean shot either, but it was enough!

There was a locking of minds! Yours with your own Mana verses his own Discipline and natural metal defenses, which he was not without. The ward had stopped a good third of this spell, and the lack of good contact had stopped another third, but the last third plus your own Discipline and your mental perception was very fast indeed. Your mind zipped around as his own attempted to force you out, or worse rebound the attack against you. He did have additional mental defenses as well, and it came to a quick draw inside his mind, but the fight was not yet loss, you were past his ward, and could use this link to cast another enchantment if you were quick about it before he used another counterspell to break the connection.

Things were moving way to fast and she could only hope that she was able to siphon some Mana to fuel the next spell to send the same spell into the Wizard but this time without making it complicated, seeing that she has made connection to his mind.

A simple spell of the mind, all you are doing is mouthing words and looking into the depths of this man's black void of a face. His own sorcery spell being uttered was fast as well, but your mind was used to operating at incredible speeds, and you are done before his. The surge of magic hitting his mind was like a cloud of fog rolling in. It rolled over his active thinking processes and suddenly his spell stopped. It was slow at first, he tried to resist it with all his being. But the spell cast overwhelmed his mind, but with his last bit of strength he was able to do something, and you felt something strange happen. Like a snap your mind exited his.

His body went limp, which unfortunately meant your daughter felt to the floor under him, crying, yelling for her mother she crawled out from under him crying she walked towards you slowly reaching her arms out. Now that you were out of his mind and back into the real world you could see what had happened. There was not a sleeping wizard before you. Instead you see a body it had about 30 Mana left in it, which you could easily gobble up once went there. The ward around it was still active, and the armored cloak he had worn was still magical as well. It seemed you had won... and the Wizard would rather be dead than helpless... but then you would know that Wizards don't stay dead that easily either.

Queen Titania or who ever this body she was in was able to overcome the Wizards mind and she moved at a fast pace to complete her action but suddenly she was thrown out of the mind of the Wizards.  Only one way that could of happened so fast.  He was dead.

"How dare you come into my home and try to kidnap my daughter, how dare you come and threaten me and kill my guards.  How dare you deprive me of my victory of making you my slave.
her face twisted in rage and anger as she moved toward the Wizards body.

It was the sound of her daughters voice that brought her back to reality, to calm her rage and it seemed the forces of Nature was about to come to life.  Taking her daughter in her arms. "Are you alright my dear? she asked as she placed a kiss upon her forehead.

Once she had her daughter in her arms and safe she looked down at the body.  It wasn't what she wanted to see but it was someone who came into her home and threatened her, threaten to take what she hold dear, her daughter.

She looked more intense at the Ward, wanting to discover its abilities and powers.  Once that was discovered she didn't want to risk any harm befalling upon her for being boastful in taking what was left.

Opening her hand as she allowed what remaining Mana that he possessed to flow into her and then into  her Foundation Cube.  Seeing that she was sitting upon it.

Using her foot she kicked back the cloak that was covering the face and wanted to see who was her attacker.  Was it another Wizard from the Parliament or was it another version of her own past or future.  That was what she really needed to reveal.  As she did this she made sure her daughters eyes was covered and she didn't see the face.

Then there was that magical armored cloak that would be needed to be Identified as well.  Something that she was well capable of doing.

The child was happy to be with you once more, but still surrounded by dead bodies now, it was not a comfortable situation. As soon as they deemed safe, one of the two nursemaids went running for more guards.

The ward, with your magical senses, wasn't able to be unlocked. You would have to use a sorcery spell (even just 1 mana) and play with it over time, like a thief learning a new lock to pick. As for the Mana that was easy enough to grab from the dead body of the wizard. As you begin to investigate the body itself many guards show up running in. "Queen ******* are you ok? There's been report of an attack!" Seeing the other dead guards, and a dead man in a cloak they only got more on edge. Their captain came out shouting "Search the shadows! I don't want any other intruders getting in or out of this palace alive. My lady, your husband is safe in his rooms, please follow us to meet him." You are able to look at the face before the guard threw his own cape over it. You didn't recognize it from anyone your current parliament. But the face was strangely familiar. It was bleach white with large, almost mutative purple welts on his face, where you could have seen it before you couldn't place. "He stole you... He made you... He owns you..." why couldn't you shake that feeling.

There was blast of lighting outside that rolled through the clouds... and you could sense it before it happened, enough time to shield your daughter and move away from his body but not fast enough to cast a spell.

As lighting struck through the window you had previously broke with your own bolt, it streamed down towards the body before you. At it struck, the body burst into flame right there. A wizards body was not something to be left for another... too many horrible things another user of Mana could do with it. Still this meant that your opponent had reincarnated. The lighting strike itself you could trace upwards and to the cloud, it had been a long-ranged attack. Likely using divination to target his body from afar. (He would after all have a sympathetic connection to his body to use Divination on. Now unfortunately, you did not.)

The guards now were in a frenzy, grabbing at you attempting to pull you up to what they considered a safe-room.

Standing over the chard body she looked down at it in disgust.  But maybe there was a way of getting something out of it still.

"Collect everything from this area and do not let one bit be missing. she ordered the guard.

If anything she was a mysterious creature herself and she would unravel the essance of that being in do time.  Even a Phoenix rises from its ashes and there is always something left behind, one just needs to know where to look or how to look.  Her Sorcery would unravel the secret that he so dearly didn't want her to have.

It was just the odd feeling that kept lingering in the back of her mind.

"He stole you... He made you... He owns you..."

I will own him in the end. she softly said as she walked next to her daughter.

"Take us to my  husband she commanded as they left the room she knew that she would surely be seeing that Wizard again.  But for now she struck a nasty blow to him and he will surely come prepared next time.

((There is more of course.))

Moving back with the guards through the halls toward the king's and your bedrooms you hear more lighting strikes and subsequent screams of agony as the wizard began his rampage through the castle. No mortal man would be able to stop you, of that you were sure, but at least they might cull the amount of mana he would bring to the next round of fighting.
"**********" you heard your name called out as your husband saw your enter the room. "The guards are saying there is an attack, oh thank Kenish our daughter is alright!" You could see that he himself was being dressed in his old armor. The blue flag with a red gryphon on the front reminded you of his earlier years when he was a young spry warrior prince... but still even then you didn't love him truly. Your false husband, I wanted to be pretty, and young, and important... this host, this past life of yours was holding back memories from you. Shame? This wasn't right. Your past life was supposed to know nothing of you! How could it! But then when another Wizard is involved almost anything was possible.

The roar of a massive explosion shook the very foundation and rocked your wizarding mind to the fore-ground of thought again. He was closing in, but this time you could prepare. Currently there were 6 skilled body guards in the room and another 2 servants, all of whom were willing and likely would die for their king and queen. But you also had time to cast a few spells in preparation.

She looked around for a moment, and that was all she had before things would get very deadly and dangerous in here.

Yes, in here.  He has to come in here but where. she thought.

She didn't raise any Wards against him yet, she did something very different.

Invoking a spell of Divination would grant her some insight on what is to come in the upcoming moments.  And that is where she was going to determine her strike.

Suddenly the door flew open, followed by a burst of magical lighting that hit all in the room except for you and the child, including your husband. At first it worried you, but your realized that this was just a vision of the most likely future. They would all be dead that moment you guessed from the intensity of it. The wizard apparently was done fucking around with others it seemed, but once again, his attacks were not lethally directed towards you. You saw him enter the room and his mouth opened as if he was talking, but it wasn't a spell he was casting, apparently he wanted to chat. The vision faded.

Suddenly the door flew open, deja vu, followed by a burst of magical lighting that hit all in the room except for the child, yourself and husband included, it was more than enough power to kill you in this body. Your vision faded... another equally possible future.

The door exploded open! Shrapnel wood flying outward putting everyone in the room on their ass. As the wizard walked he muttered some words and suddenly you felt a vice grip on your throat before a twist and a snap of your neck, and your life faded quickly, but not before you saw one of the guards run at him and stab him in the chest, he only looked at the wound and laughed before readying another spell... another possible future.

There was a powerful shield that appeared between the doorway and the rest of the room. Then the door unlocked itself and opened neatly. The pale white, veiny, and boil covered wizard began to talk directly to you while a guard charged and bounced off the force-shield... another possible future.

The actual reality of it was hard to gauge, predicting the future of a Wizard was very very hard because of what they were. They were the controllers of fate, not it's puppets. But still you could see enough possible future to gauge something: while extremely pissed off at you, he was still willing to talk at this point. You weren't sure about what or why, but you knew it didn't have to come directly to violence at this point. Why would he kill me? He made me... I was his, he doesn't want to kill me, he wants to use me. I promised him I would give her to him, but I can't, I can't, I must get my child away! Take her, take her out of here! There it went again your own mind pulling back information from you. It was annoying to say the least, that the shame of some past life stopped you from getting all the information you could about what was going on.

Your vision returned to the room you were actually in. You could still hear and feel the pulses of magic as the wizard made his way down the corridors. Time was not on you side, but you could still prepare some more. ((You have time for 1 more spell 2 if your quick about them.))

((So remember that Evocation Magic != Effect, Magic is the Cause the Effect is as real as nature. If he casts lighting that arcs towards people in the room you will need a Physical barrier to stop it (like an evocation force-wall).

That being said, your spell can totally work, as the effect (the lighting in this case) is still guided by magic. Your spell is a wall which causes the targeting part of the magic to turn around and aim at the caster. This still will require that "wall" to beat the SP of the spell cast just like all sorcery spell alteration.))

Your daughter got behind you and the guards braced themselves for the inevitable assault. It seemed to be a combination of two of your visions.

The door exploded open! Though not with as much force as you vision had warned, instead it had blown off it's hinged and slammed in to the nearest guard who happen to be by it. The second spell in rapid succession was indeed the lighting effect. It hit your wall you were concentrating on and suddenly arced upwards and down. You had enough power to nullify the targeting and the lighting, but not rebound it. Still it instantly targeted the floor and wall rather than people in the room. The second guard who's life you had just saved with your spell wall charged out the doorway, spear point out, screaming a warcry. This gave you time for another spell while the opposing Wizard delt with a raging vanguard in the hall.

The rest of the bodyguards began to get in formation around yourself and the king who's armor had finally been snapped on. "The six hells was that. Blasphemy of nature." He remarked on the lighting as he drew his sword.

Seeing the door blown off the hinges was something she foresaw but hitting the guard wasn't part of her vision.  As he fell to the floor she watched as the next thing happened.  The Lightening Bolt that came through the door hitting the invisible barrier and dying off.

This brought some joy to the Queen and now she watched as the one guard ran out screaming to attack the Wizard.  Shaking her head she knew it was a foolish act and his life was forfeit when he encountered the target.  But in truth it wasn't his life that the Queen was concern about, it was her daughters.  With the few remaining guards and servants moving closer the Queen wondered if she was able to allude the Wizard by casting a illusion spell upon her daughter.

The Queen wondered if she still had contact with the mind of the Wizard even if he is in a new form.  Allowing her thoughts to reach out to determine if so.  And if so she would prepare her next spell.

If not she moved up to the invisible barrier and looked out the door to see the outcome of the battle with the screaming guard and to see the Wizard.

Unfortunately the mental link had been broken upon death, and your next sight let you know another mental strike would be much harder.

Moving up to observe brought a cry from you husband to get back, but you ignored it. Instead you saw the man charge up and impale the wizard. While indeed the black cloak he wore was enchanted once more, it was not against physical weapons. The spear went right through him in what would have been a fatal blow to anyone else. The man didn't even flinch. But upon the strike the guard himself suddenly had blood spray from his own back, just as if he had been impaled. The wizard then pushed the man back to let him die on his own. Oddly you didn't detect any magic in this shared damage... an Aspect of the wizard himself perhaps.

This time instead of a cloak and hood which blocked physical weapons, you could see that it was enchanted so that the user's face was hidden behind a supernatural darkness. More importantly, you would be unable to get eye-contact with him (you could also tell that this would help him resist other more complicated enchantments).

While he saw you past the bodyguards blocking the door way, he didn't seem to attack the others once he saw you. "Ah, Queen Titania still I presume? Perhaps you do not understand what is going on here. And you have cost me quite a bit so far, but nothing I am not willing to forgive you for. I suspected that this day might come. You are using your Codex to come from the future correct? You want to know you name, you want to know this life's name anyway. Perhaps we can help each other then?"

A soldier form the doorway took this moment to charge him with a sword in hand. The Wizard waved his hand, a telekinetic evocation ritual was activated and the man's neck was snapped like your's had been in the vision before. "These mortals are so quick to throw their lives away. Would you mind me killing the rest of the guards?"

When she walked up to get a better look at the Wizard she noticed that he had enough time to prepare a lot of spells before returning within only moments passing.  She didn't like the fact that he was able to do so many spells before returning and using up so much Mana to reach her here but still he had power.

She raised her hand to stop any further guards moving toward the Wizard.  "You will not kill any more of my guards or anyone here under my protection. her words were bold and stern.

"Queen Titania she repeated the name he called her.  She thought back and that was the name in the story book she was reading to her daughter.  Looking at the Wizard she smiled. "I understand perfectly.  she replied still showing a smile upon her face.

"You think of me as a weak Queen one that would hand over her daughter to monster.  If you think I would make this easy for you.  You were wrong.

Just hearing the name Queen Titania gave her more than enough wisdom and that alone would grant her some of her own Aspects.

She was fast but was she fast enough in removing the enchantments he had upon himself.

Your mind raced through the lines of power that connected this version of you to the one that still sat in her Codex. The lines of power we there, an innate connection from your Codex, your mind, your Blasting Rod your authority, your Body your vessel, and your Foundation Cube your soul. All were in alignment there waiting to be used. Your reached within yourself with sorcery.

All your opponent could see was the large force behind your spell. Foolishly thinking that it was him you were targeting he cast a quite darkness spell around him causing everything up to your magical wall to be shrouded in a magical target dampening darkness.

Pulling with on the threads between your body and this one, strengthening them, forcing them. Harder and harder until the lines between story and reality blurred. Your own body became a bridge between this world and your own... but there was something you didn't expect.

When you looked to your side you saw the queen that you had been just moments ago. No longer did you see things through her perspective, and no longer could that queen cast magic. Queen Titania in physical form. The air still shivered you as you made your entrance into this world. Your magical barrier was still up and behind it a veil of darkness the wizard would be inside. At this point the guards were all too stunned to make a real move.

She didn't expect this to happen but it was all that she could do to help deal with the Wizard that was about to take the child and that was something that Queen Titania knew wasn't suppose to happen.

Looking over to the Queen she nods her head then looks at the child.  As their eyes met the Queen knew that she was there to help for just a few moments their minds were one.

"Protect the child at all cost. she said as her eyes looked at the child again and granting a smile upon her face.

Once she saw that the rest of the people were surrounding the young girl she turned her attention to the darkness on the other side of the wall.

"So did you wish to see me in person, if so you will need to remove your simple spell of darkness. she smirked.

Eveyone in the room was quite shocked at your appearance. You were a good 1 foot shorter than all but the child, but still your presence in the room instantly pulled everyone's attention. Still though your former host took the child and went with her farther behind the guards now who had backed off from the horrid wizard's smoke.

"Well... not in this form, but this works for your purpose I guess. I did not know it was possible to physically enter one's past... and I do not believe it either. A mental phantom more likely. You have already proven adept at mental magics once." You knew he was wrong of course, not by any self-realization. But you really were "here" wherever this was, because your body was no longer touching the Foundation Cube (but you had access to all it's traits now). "And I can feel the pressure of this illusion on my mental barrier. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..." He heard a small gurgled chuckle.  "But it does seem you've cooled off a bit. And perhaps are willing to talk yes? Did that other mind tell you? The one native here. Did you ever see the deal we made. The Child is mine, there was a Contract created between us. If I do not receive the child, both she and the child will die by the end of dawn today. So it would be a waste of both lives and you would likely never learn your piece of this name. So once again I beseech you. Be reasonable, if we combine our sorcerers might, we can simple dig your name out by brute force. None of this crap of puzzles or games. Why follow the rules when Magic is meant to break them! Tell me... does your Time have other Wizards as well? Do you not compete against them for it's ownership? We can help each other on this, our enemies are no each other but all the others. There is no more need for wasted Mana."
