To be entirely fair, a summary would be great. While i still know what i was planning for the most part, i've lost oversight of what everyone else has been doing the past couple of turns ^^;

Edit: On that note, i still know of a few ongoing deals, but in case anyone has some notes on their end a refresher would be nice :)

Chief among which, there was some Comorite i had my eyes on for the current turn i believe...

[Private to Dr Hamilton: Holistics (basically touchscreens) i believe? At work atm so i'd need to check, but i did send the investment money, right?]

[Private to GM: Still wanted to try and get the Buna to work towards a merger, and of course cooperative and coordinated strikes against the Cartels forming in muh cities]

[Private to Blackwatch One; Ka-Atanrik Ghera; Strast Dandris: Didn't forget about the 400 mil either for each of you from the Grey Company. Any interest in kicking this back off by the way?]

I'm concentrating on my actions for the moment, but as part of my fluff action I was hoping to have my character try and meet with the various groups to find out what there long term and current goals were under the spirt of, yes comparatively the Silver Republic is somewhat backwards and behind, but we can be helpful, so how can we help?
This would  serve as a jump off point to serve as a formal question IC of the New Stoics in regards to what they know about the 'strange technology' they've been researching and Watchers, etc, both as a recap and further explanation. That would then (IC) lead to brief summaries hopefully of  some of others goals and concerns.
If I can, OOC, help other players with their goals then good, since doing so won't stop me in anyway from meeting mine, and the shared action will help me with one element that's kind of important to the SR as I have it in my head, that of deplomacy where applicable.

What sort of summaries do people want? It would help me remember stuff more if we all talked about the various plots that we going on. Like, I was mostly focused on the Comorite theft & superhuman criminals, the Brahmsian "Strangers" and the Watcher Threat. I  had a vested interest in the other kinds of superhumans on the planet, mostly the ones generated by the Seihai, Wraithguard and Jacinto. I paid attention to our medical technologies, developing them and encouraging others to develop them to the point where I could specialize in psychological and spiritual/emotional/"thetan" health. I could probably talk about all of these topics, especially if interviewed about them.

I contributed to the military and space-naval organizational structure, but more because nobody else seemed to be picking up the tasks Narrator was asking for.

There was some stuff about planetary educational standards that I could probably remember if pressed for details. I certainly know the trajectory the Stoics were going to take on it -- both what I said on the forum last, and the way that idea has changed since then.

I like Hamilton's suggestion of doing some kind of "recap episode." I use the TV-show format for narratives and reminders in my tabletop games, to the point where my players know what channel our show is on, and we sometimes cut to scenes of our fans watching the TV show or arguing online in fan forums. I think a recap of some nature would be really helpful, and that we might even want to try to set it up so as kind of "prime the pump" and get us back in gear.

All that said, it's now been over a year since I've seen anything come out of Narrator on my polity or the plots I'm invested in, other than a few nebulous messages about how he's spent some time working on them recently. I care about this game a lot, and to be completely vulnerable about it, I'm more than a little hurt by the way the game faded. I don't need an apology or anything, but it's going to take some work to get me to fully trust that we're actually rebooting, and I don't know that I'm going to be willing to commit the time I used to for this game until that trust is built back up.

In reply to Maha-Lang (msg # 7):

I'm willing to support with supplies to the military and space related military. That's all I can promise at this specific stage.
Super criminals are certainly a concern and am willing to discuss it.
Education is significant, since well, mine could use some improvement.

Now, how much of my budget should  I set aside for the refugee crisis and  the federation military?
Yes, I accidently deleted my last budget save by accident and then hit save.
I remember most of it, so it won't be hard to due it over, but I can't find the accords documenting who all should pay what .

Note, if it will be helpful, I have listened to the accords as stated in the IC thread, but don't hear a number required for military afferts or for federation taxes.

So a bit of lessons learned: I believe that I have definitely stretched the Huitzilopochtli too thin by trying to actively engaged on many many fronts.

Add a couple of bad rolls and now I'm behind of being anywhere near effective on matters near and dear.

Specialization is key, build tall not wide, at least at first. Not everyone has the budget of the ATC :P.

To clarify, I was talking about what subjects/plots I could help recap, not talking about what I will be focusing on, or asking others to focus on.

By the way, just as a side note, I have been heavily distracted with RL lately (don't worry it's all good stuff ;) ). As a side effect, I have neglected the side game I've talked about in the past as well as checking here regularly.

But know this, I am back! (put on terminator's shades).

[Private to Zethira: OOC: I forgot to reply to your private message. will get to that soon. Though, I somehow remember something about help in holographics in exchange for advances in the tech or something. I am busy checking past messages to get back into the game and will get back to you. ;) PS: I will also need the updates by narrator. Hopefully, it's coming in the near future ;) ... sorry narrator, I didn't mean to pressure you, Real life goes first ... I should know, I am right in the middle of it.]

Hey, we've been allies since the days of Hummingbird the Eldest, if it's money or co-investors you need i'm only a call away :P

[Private to Dr Hamilton: Going by memory myself, i was having you research holistics (which was why i paid for it, i didn't have the budget slots myself and you were interested in developing it) so i could get hologram and AR tech off the ground as a follow-up. I'd need to look it up as well though.]

Haha thanks Zeth but I'm stubbornly independent! And Lang that was more a warning for Kovacs

In reply to Kovac Teslan (msg # 11):

Let's see if I can dust off the cobwebs. Most of these interweave

  • Solar tech
  • Giant Space Lazers
  • Global Energy network utilizing the above
  • Keeping the federation safe with an elite airforce (quality over quantity)
  • developing Mechs
  • Pilot schools / training to support the above
  • Sponsoring of PC aid
  • Heavy subsidizing and rebuilding of neighboring polities that have been devastated by war (Crimerans, Buna)
  • Further development of NPC areas of interest as my own (Crimeran grav-tech, that asteroid mining station Buna-ATC joint venture have at the North Pole)
  • Founding a secular religion that supports the above. Summary is "all sentient life is sacred cuz we're made of star stuff"
  • Peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts in keeping with the above.
  • Genetic modifications to cute cancer because the religion preaches a lot of sun-tanning
  • genetic modifications to make all that sun-tanning into a productivity boost for the followers
  • Olive branch initiatives with our former enemies in keeping with said tradition.
  • Cultural analysis of actual Aztec remnants in the campaign setting as my polity appropriated the culture and now is faced with the reality that there might be true successors out there in the Galaxy
  • Turning the Nahuatl language into a counter-corporate espionage asset to match backstory
  • Safety and Engineering teams acting as an OSHA/ASTM/NEC/IEC/IECC equivalent
  • Trying to monetize the above
  • development of Tlamacazqui as strong city-state corporate town.
  • Giant telescope on the moon

I'm sure I could treat some of this stuff as fluff so I can have it without rolling for it but I also am stuck with the idea of it being mechanically useful and reading a lovely narrator write-up about it. Lots of interests, not enough budget / actions / time

Yeah, that Klatoo Verata Necktie base (Baratu Ufoto or something) that i never quite figured out what it's actually supposed to do. But hey, prestige :P

Also, if memory serves the Council and some of the Exodites were going to get a tour of the Space Lazer prototype i've built to see if the network's feasible to cover the entire Federation with?

I'm afraid I don't get the -1 degree t element to some of the bonus summery table. Does it work by reducing a roll by another organization, thus pushing them away from success?

Yeah, i think the minus (-) is what's confusing, given that higher rolls = better. Maybe change it to '+1 degrees' instead?

I must say, of my four rolls, only one was bad, and it happens to be in the area where my polity  is considered strong in.
And you can point and laugh in five... four... three... two...
Or
if you prefer, you can rack the shotgun and say "Not bad for a blind man."
And make me remember  Blind fury, because it was the 80s.
