Robert eyes Melissa up and down briefly...

"Hell...she may even be able to draw him out.  Every man has the same weakness."

In reply to Robert MacIntyre (msg # 38):

Melissa took a look at the woman in the picture.

"Yes, that's something I don't get about men in general. You get free sex with a hottie that many guys would give their eye teeth for and you still cheat..."

She thought for a second.

"I'll do the jog, but I am not going to be seen dead in yoga pants, thank you. Seriously, if I die, you are to bury me in a suit".

Karl adopted his command voice.
"Here's the plan. We go to the shop Jack suggested and grab some running gear, then head to the location. We'll stop a block or two short, Antonio, Melissa, and I will do the run past the target while Michael and Robert move to the pick up point."
"Melissa, you pass your radio to Robert and I'll have mine on me."
"Jack and Eric will stay here. Jack to dig up anything more you can online, Eric to provide security."
"Are we agreed?"

Melissa listened to all of this.

"I'll get the radio and pass it to you when we're done here. May I suggest that the three of us run past the target at a random separation of time, so we see the place at different times and don't arouse suspicion by going at identical time intervals?"

She saw Antonio bringing all of his equipment and placing it on the bed.

"We have anything in the way of cameras, especially the concealable sort?"

Antonio shook his head.
"No, we didn't expect we'd be surveilling a target."
"I was thinking if we went as a group and one had to stop to tie their shoelace or something, the other two would be free to look around for a few moments without attracting too much suspicion."

Note they sell cameras too according to their website. Don't worry about getting too specific (I don't want to know how many pairs of socks for example).

It didn't take long for the five of you to grab what you needed and head back out the door again. Price tags were removed, shoes scuffed as well as possible to simulate at least a little wear, and clothing changed as Michael drove to the drop point.

"Questions?"

Karl's newly purchased clothes and shoes looked a bit new really, but given the sun had set a couple of hours earlier it probably wouldn't be a problem.

"Not from me", Melissa replied, "Who wants to go first?"

She'd managed to find some winter running gear including a red thermal vest and warm leggings, as well as a black woollen. She admitted she looked slightly ridiculous, which is why she normally did her exercise indoors on a treadmill.

You didn't get rained on that way.

Re: Back in the US 2000 hrs

Karl, Melissa and Antonio jogged past the target house, stopping outside to tie a shoelace and take a drink or two while they quickly observed the property. Not much had changed since the house had last been advertised for sale - no obvious work had been carried out besides a few different plants in the garden, all currently denuded of leaves as they prepared for their winter dormancy. An expensive late model BMW sat in the driveway alongside an even more expensive Aston Martin. Several lights glowed through closed curtains with the occasional shadow passing by inside indicating there was at least one person home.
On the street a battered minivan drove slowly past and around the corner, and across the street a man shrouded in a heavy coat was walking his dog. Otherwise, the neighbourhood was quiet, most smart people staying inside out of the cold.

"Nice cars," commented Karl.
"Must be about a quarter of a million just sitting in the driveway."
Shoe "re-tied" he slowly jogged on, turning the corner and heading towards their pick up point at Fort Allen Park a few hundred metres away.
"You get any video as you drove past?" he spoke into his radio to Robert as they moved on. He hoped Michael had the forethought to pass his phone to Robert for the task.

Re: Back in the US 2000 hrs

The three runners moved on to the pick up point, noting the battered minivan had stopped about halfway between the target house and pick up point in the park. A quick glance showed at least two people, a man and woman, were still sitting in the front. A shadow seemed to indicate a third in the back but the light was too poor to confirm.
Several other vehicles were parked at the pick up point. The park seemed a popular location to look out over the harbour, or leave your car when running along the waterside trail below. One of the cars started up as the runners approached Robert and Michael, driving slowly past before rapidly accelerating with a squeal of rubber once they reached the street.
