Character Profiles

Samantha "Sam" Allington

Character image

A petite Caucasian woman with brown hair, a New York accent and a degree in Accounting, Samantha Allington is a demonstration that while librarians may be scary, what you should really be scared of are accountants. Especially ones that were also Marines... until she got caught filching money from the Corps for a cartel.

She serves as the chief accountant of Lindgren Security.

Re: Character Profiles

In reply to General Seaworth (msg # 1):

Patrick Donnelly Stands six foot two inches tall and weighs around two hundred and ten pounds, plus or minus what and where he has been the last month or two. His complexion has been called, well; let us just say he wears cloths not sunscreen. With Blue eyes and red hair he might be called good looking if it were not for the burn scare on the left side of his face and his left ear almost gone.
Born in Alameda California to a former Marine Officer and his Marine nurse wife a lot was expected of Patrick. He was intelligent enough and he worked hard enough but somehow he was always getting average grades and that was not good enough for his Father. Of course the fact that he spent a good deal of time at home after being suspended for fighting tended to modify his grades. That fact never seemed to affect his father’s opinion.
Patrick joined the Marine Corps more as a way to prove his Fathers opinion of him wrong than any desire to be a life time Marine. However when he was selected to go into the sniper program his interest and enthusiasm went up by leaps and bounds. The fact he was promoted ahead of a lot of others helped his self-confidence as well.
Lance Corporal Donnelly was not seeking to insult his father when he did not reup with the Corps but moved to the Army, he was looking to make a career of the Military and the Army promotion system was way more attractive. His choice seemed to be right as promotion and selection to special units followed term after term. So did more than a few commendations and choice assignments.
With a Bronze star, a Silver Star and two purple hearts arose an offer of a direct commission to First Lieutenant. Now an Officer Donnelly was looking at another ten years or more in the service that is until a small disturbance at the Officers club At Fort Benning where he had been posted to the Training school as an instructor. It seems that Officers do not settle disagreements the way Noncommissioned personnel do, it also seems that transportation Majors have no sense of humor concerning their abilities as soldiers or more properly concerning the opinion of junior officers of that ability. The Major made the mistake of telling a very sensitive Irish first lieutenant that is was a shame gentlemen had to put up with potato diggers in the Army. The Major is expected to recover sufficiently to resume active duty, in time.
With twenty years in and the offer of not being court martialed if he took his retirement and the advice that his skills with a rifle and the having been an airborne ranger and having earned and worn the Green beret, serving four years with the Special Forces, could get him employment at a good salary almost anywhere in the world, former first Lieutenant Patrick Allen Donnelly is now an independent contractor.

Re: Character Profiles

The improbably named Jack Random is a tall, good looking, caucasian American with the lean physique of a lifetime PT nut. He was born in the small north Georgia town of Elijay and grew up walking the Appalachian mountains and watching US Army Rangers training nearby. He even participated playing a civilian several times and an insurgent with a bomb hidden in his backpack once.

When Jack earned an athletic scholarship to the Virginia Military Institute he accepted it with the full intention of joining the army and getting into Ranger School asap. That was before he met the man who nicknamed him "Jack" (his family actually calls him JW), self proclaimed "Jarhead Superman" Morris Mulcahey (Jack calls him "Wardaddy"). While offering useful advice like, "kid yer not fast enough to play in the Pros better brush up on your academics", Morris got Jack into competitive Judo, competitive Shooting, convinced him to pursue a double major in Computer & Information Sciences and Electrical and Computer Engineering, and most significantly convinced him to accept a commission in the United States Marne Corps.

Random took to the role of infantry officer well but without much enthusiasm and he didn't miss the paperwork at all when he received admission to the Corps renowned Scout Sniper Program where he performed well again but fell short of the marksmanship necessary to be assigned as an 0317 instead finishing out his time in the Corps as an 0321 Recon Officer.

In 2008 while the 25yr old Marine was trying to decide if he wanted to stay a Marine he was approached by a man with a job offer. Col. Hanson Kerse was one of the men who formed the very first Marine Force Recon units in 1957 but now he was a recruiter and training officer for the organization known in military circles as "The Company". Once his sales pitch was through Jack was on his way to The Farm.

Starting with his time at Camp Peary, Virginia Random would spend the next 12 years of his life working for The Company in one place or another. Field work including, surveillance, infiltration, sabotage, personnel and material recovery (including both kidnapping and hostage rescue), bomb damage assessment, and counter terrorism, and essentially anything else the taskmasters of the S.A.D. could think up occupied almost all of his time. When he wasn't working Jack was in school improving his already impressive computer skills.

His last performance evaluation included the following, "...Random is a sneaky son of a bitch. No target from Servers to Master Locks is safe from him. He is a hell of an asset and I'm not sure if I want to give him a raise and ask him to marry my daughter or if I think we should have him shot to avoid any possibility of him turning his skills against us."

..and then bureaucracy struck.

Budget "adjustments" and a sudden dip in the CIA's popularity with the media led to a number of agents finding themselves without a job. Having been more of an "enjoy it while you have it" guy than a "save it for a rainy day" guy Jack was sitting in a bar in Newport News, Virginia trying to talk himself out of robbing the 3rd National Bank when a representative of Lindgren Security sat down next to him and yet again his life was changed by a timely job offer.

Jacks file is, of course, heavily redacted but includes the following:
He is a top notch Hacker, Infiltator, and Electronics Tech who is also highly qualified in Small Arms, CQB, and Surveillance.

Re: Character Profiles

Robert was born and raised in a small agricultural town in upstate NY just a few miles from the Canadian border.   Dad was a heavy machine operator in the winter but worked the family farm during the warm seasons and taught Robert much about nature and the world.  These lessons were not lost on him and his passion for knowledge grew.  Upon graduating high school he announced his intention to study at the state university.
Once immersed in his studies, Robert found his true calling.  He majored in Biology and focused heavily on Microbiology in particular.  Viruses, bacteria, parasites…he couldn’t learn enough about them.  His lucky break came when his professor invited him to assist in his lab work.  Soon he found himself right where he wanted.  Day after day he learned new techniques and methods, concepts he devoured at an alarming pace. Before long, however, his time at university was almost over.  While initially he considered continuing his studies and earning his doctorate, he soon discovered a more enticing path.
The military recruiters had been to his school many times and he often spoke to them at length about the opportunities he might find in the service.  The idea of studying new, unknown bacteria or finding the next lethal super virus truly seemed to appeal to him.  Shortly before graduation he enlisted in the Army Medical Corp.  His superiors were immediately impressed with his knowledge and lab skills and upon completion of basic he was sent for additional training in germ warfare.
His training and subsequent service time was a whirlwind of activity. His 16 years would see him (amongst other things) studying chemical and viral attacks in the Pacific theater, more specifically the Philippines, collecting toxic plants and fungus throughout the Balkans and teaching emergency wilderness medicine to Canadian soldiers.
