Al has initiative 7.

Your opponent has initiative 12.

So James goes first.

Note that you can't see him yet. You'll need to move through the pumping room to reach the door to the stairs going up to the subway station.

Continuing on through the room quickly to the point their target should be trying to escape James put his faith in Vadim to spot anyone emerging from cover to ambush him and instead focused on catching up, still perhaps foolishly optimistic they could still get to it before it entered anywhere with witnesses.

James headed for the staircase up to the station. The door was halfopen and slightly ajar. Carefully James looked in. Further up the stairs he saw the sillouette of a large man dragging another up the stairs. The man turned around as his hand lit up with a blue glow, lighting up the staircase phosphorescent blue.

"You won't catch me alive again, fascist scumbags!".

(James, Al and Vadim, roll initiative please. 1d10+dex+wits)

It was obvious when James had moved into position that they had been spotted so keeping themselves hidden at this point was useless.  Vadim took his card and slid it along the pumping chamber and focused his concentration on the ammunition in the chamber.  The nearby pumps where actually quite new and it was clear that the crew that had installed them took care in their installation.  Slowly he re-adjusted the inherent worth that radiated from it into the first shell so that when it did strike the HITmark it would hopefully incapacitate him enough to allow a capture.

The uttered words meant little to James, deafened as he was, but the expression was certainly not that of someone planning to surrender. That said he was not in a rush to get their surrender, a corpse might not be as useful as someone to interrogate but it was one fewer problem.

The light of the hand made it easier for the creature to track the movement of their target. The creature seemed pumped, eager for the chase.

Vadim didn't want to know what sort of damage that HITmark could do if he found a target with that weapon.  Snapping the weapon up to next to the doorframe to hopefully give himself some cover and above James' shoulder he fired a single round up at the crazy rogue hoping that the enhanced shells that they had been given combined with his Increasing the Worth of the first one would do the trick.

Scene 2c: Venatus est Venator

Vadim managed to hit the rogue HITMark square in the right shoulder with an enhanced shotgun blast which would have severely mangled the arm were his target a mortal. However the Technocracy had made HITMarks of a sturdier material than most mortals, having subdermal primium armor as a counter measure against magic. It instantly devalued Vadim's prime-charged bullets to a significant degree. Not completely as some of the powered shrapnel penetrated the skin and shredded it on a deep level but Vadim couldn't suppress a measure of disappointment.

(Note that making something cause aggravated damage is always vulgar so the base difficulty is Prime 2+4 (since no witnesses are currently present) is difficulty 6 (7 if witnesses were around). You rolled a 10 though on your magic roll so you're good to go.

The cyborg fired its weapon in retalliation, a blue arc of electricity escaping the weapon's barrel. The staircase was painted in cobalt blue light for a flash of a second. It hit James in the chest with him being the easiest target.

"Any time right about now would be godawefully convenient, Portal!", the HITmark growled.

(James, you take 3 hp bashing damage, but you can roll stamina to try to soak damage. If you take damage equal to or over your stamina score it also stuns you)

(thought I was anyway, certainly been deducting dice :))

Pushed back down the stairs from the blast James winced before dropping to kneeling posture and bringing the shotgun up and adding his own fire to Vadim's. Given the bullets provided by the Technocracy had been souped up specifically to help with Primium armour they'd hopefully help with the cybrog's armour but it would still need a bit of firepower to bring this down.

The Cyborg was hit in the head by James' shot, grazing his right temple and revealing some of the subdermal nanoweave. If the halfman felt it he didn't show it but he was bleeding profusely.

(ooc, good thing you mentioned the bullets, almost forgot them. Also makes Vadim's shot a bit more impactful)

Al didn't move at first, remaining behind Vadim and James. However, the creature's small eyes seemed to focus intently upon the HITmark. It held out one clawed hand towards the rogue cyborg, and gave a quick jerk of the limb downwards.

The mechanically enhanced cyborg glanced down as he felt his feet pulled from under him by an unseen force and fell hard on the concrete stairs, letting go of Jacki's body.
For Alpha's companions seeing Alpha using his abilities was disconcerting at best, requiring them to supress their instincts at seeing something that science couldn't quite explain just yet. Useful though the thing might be it was still a deviant monstrosity.

Racking the slide on the shotgun Vadim loaded another round into the chamber.  As he did the hand that held the slide also held his card and he quickly slide it along the barrel of the shotgun...focusing on Increasing the Worth of yet another round to hopefully quickly bring the HITmark down to be captured if possible.

His eye twitched as he felt the Primal Unity deny his credit and he wondered if he had exceeded his allotment for the month.  With a simply frown he then focused on his target and squeezed off another round.  What he didn't account for was the creature being yanked to the ground which made him momentarily try to ascertain the science behind what Alpha was doing.  The shot scattered close to the HITmark but he couldn't tell if he had hit it or not...

17:22, Today: Vadim Dragomirov failed (no successes) using 3d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed system with a target of 6 ((1,4,10)).
Would it be a 5 because he's using his foci card?  Regardless it would be no successes.

No beans unless prone lowers the difficulty to a 5 which then I'd get 1 success

Scene 2c: Venatus est Venator

It was hard to see but the wound caused by James' blast was slowly closing up. The wound Vadim had inflicted on the cyborg did not and continued to bleed. The HITMark grit his teeth and attempted to get up while he fired his weapon at Vadim this time. He slipped on his own blood getting up. Falling back down his weapon spat out blue lightning at Vadim.

dicepool split. 3 points to fire, 3 points to leap back on his feet. diff 7 on each. (Athletically leaping up on his feet: Storyteller botched using 3d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed system with a target of 7.)
Fire weapon: Storyteller rolled 2 successes using 3d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed system with a target of 7.
Arete roll: Storyteller rolled 3 successes using 5d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed system with a target of 7. +1 extra success because Forces magic.
Makes for 8 hp of bashing damage. OUCH!
Better make a good soak roll ... with stamina 1 ... oh boy ... remember your outfit gives 2 extra soak dice i think but you bloody well need them)

And like that the situation went even more towards FUBAR. With Vadim down and the cyborg continuing to recover James stuck to his guns in the most literal way possible and continued to fire. If it went down he could keep it that way and then attend to Vadim. Any alternative plan would just end poorly at this point.

OC: 5 Successes with 1 bonus from WP for total of 6 on the hit. That makes for 13 to roll for damage with the shotgun's base 8 correct?
