Corros Graelor:
What's our next move?
I'm tempted to go down into the sewers and deal with whatever is near the warehouse district. We can pay the 1000GP to get into Fire Watch Keep, or we can pay and have allies to cover our trail when we withdrawal. Is it worth consolidating allies before poking the blood forged?
I think we want as much of the city as possible behind us - or at least moving in the same direction as us. The kilogold feels a bit like extortion but it is a seller's market and we can always get more gold later.
Jenna Drax:
I don't think rushing to the Keep to free Overmark is necessarily in our best interests, at least not until we're in a position to deal with the heat that will inevitably accompany such an act. Clearly if we learn that her life is in imminent danger that would change. Therefore, I'd suggest putting some effort into cultivating sources inside the Keep so we can stay informed as to what's happening to Overmark (and the other prisoners). That likely best falls under Nicola's remit?
Yup. I'm thinking we'll want to set up a couple of safehouses before we move. And get a feel for which of the remaining Fire Watch will be willing to shift allegiance back to Overmark if she's freed. That'll be the core of our
I also like the idea of an ongoing low-level sabotage and harassment campaign. Get the Drowned Rats, the Waterbearers, and all the other youth gangs in on it and it'll turn into competition.
We don't need to defeat the Bloodforged. We just need to make the city too expensive for them to hold onto - and too much of a bad deal for any of the interested parties to want to bid for.
One other option, which would be high-risk but potentially awesome if we can pull it off, is a scam. We could masquerade as representatives of another bidding party. In theory, Nic and Corros both have decent Charisma, disguise kit proficiency, and the social skills to pull it off. Particularly if we can get the Vanders to pay for the trappings of wealth that would accompany such a delegation.
