Re: It's Time!

Spartan PM'ed me about Ulfgar crafting some potions of Darkvision for Nic and we worked out the details of such an enterprise. That project is current underway (IG) but for now, since the first potion won't be ready for another day or so and because lantern use is impractical in sewer combat (no place to set it down without extinguishing it), let's assume that Ulfgar cast his Darkvision spell on Nic prior to the current underground encounter.

Guys, I'm really struggling with this slow post rate. Is there any way we could pick  up the pace just a bit? Ideally, I'd like us all to be shooting for one IC post every-other day or so.

Re: It's Time!

I understand, guys, and I don't want to stress anyone out. That's not fun and fun is why we're doing this, right? It's just that I don't know how to interpret dead air. I guess I'm a pretty insecure GM because I tend to conclude "disinterested" instead of "too busy". Dead air saps the fun out of this for me. If y'all could please drop me a quick line, like what you just did there, Keys, that would really help me to deal.

And, if you need me to NPC your character for a turn or two, just let me know. It's not a problem.

I posted another combat round turn to keep things moving forward. The dice weren't too kind.

Re: It's Time!

I'm a little unclear as to how much - if anything - Jenna et al  know about what has happened to Nic and Gronk. I specifically posted Jenna turning round to face the croc in the turn before the cube was spotted, so her back is to them, meaning she obviously can't see what's happening and as far as I can tell  no one called out any warnings other than Corros calling attention to the croc.

Is this cube making any sort of noise that would alert us to its approach or is it just down to whether I opt to have my character look over her shoulder?

Re: It's Time!

Not really. Not over the din of the croc fight. Gronk and Nic can make saving throws to get out of the cube. It stands to reason that Jenna would be preoccupied with the croc which, considering how many hits it's already taken, must be about done. Once the croc is dead, the cube is the only other threat.

That's fine, I hadn't really planned on her looking over her shoulder to be honest - i think it would be a bit meta

I may not post until tomorrow. It's been a long week at work and my brain is fried.

I roll attacks and such as posts come in. Ulfgar's bite attack was enough to kill the croc. So, that frees up Jenna to do something else. Dave, feel free to edit her post if/when you get the chance.

Re: It's Time!

Thanks to all for getting your turn posts up so quickly.

It's decision time. Do you wish to follow up on the secret door or call it a day and leave the sewers?

Teg has been offline since last Sunday. When last we chatted (via PM), he said that he was struggling with a sinus issue. I e-mailed him yesterday to see how he's doing but I haven't heard back from him yet. I'm starting to worry. It's not like him to disappear without warning. I hope he's OK. I'm not sure if we should proceed without him but since I don't know if/when he might be coming back, hitting pause might not be the best alternative.

I guess for now, why don't y'all decide what you'd like to do next OOC. Let's hope Teg is OK and able to rejoin us soon. If we don't hear from him in the next couple of days, we can push on IC. Is that acceptable?

Re: It's Time!

Twitter feed was live 6 minutes ago.. so he's not dead.. that's something...

PS: I'll admit that I almost asked if anyone had heard from Teg earlier tonight, being somewhat concerned myself.  But I talked myself out of it for some reason (didn't think to look at Twitter at that time).

Instead, I once again rMailed twothirds, who I'm pretty sure did die or something back in 2014.  :(

Hopefully Teg is OK.

As we're in the sewers now I'd prefer to press on to the secret door (presuming we're not pausing).

We stand with Teg!

I don't think I'd post with bad sinus stuff either...

I vote for pressing on to the door and taking a short rest for spells and HP recovery.

Re: It's Time!

According to what the PHB has to say about short rests, I don't think taking one in the sewers is possible. It's just not the most restful of environments (dark, wet, filthy, reeking, etc.). Sorry guys.

Would you like to cast any healing or buff spells before entering the spectator's hallway beyond the secret door?

FYI, Nic is at 32/45 HP; Gronk is at 44/65 HP. IIRC, the rest of you are at full HP. I trust that you casters have been keeping track of spell slots expended/remaining.

P.S. I heard back from Teg tonight. He's ok but had a hell of a rough week.
He said he'll try to rejoin us as soon as he can- prolly in the "next few days".

Re: It's Time!

Glad to hear Teg's OK. Just an FYI I likely won't be around much - if at all - for the rest of the day. I have some real life stuff piling up so I wouldn't expect to be in a position to post anywhere until tomorrow night my time. Nothing major, but I need to deal with it (and no, it's not because England and Wales are both playing in the Euros tonight - not even sure if I'll be able to catch any of that).

Is the area behind the secret door available for a rest?  I know we run the risk of being spotted by the flying eyeball, but Corros is out of spells and it's a hell of a risk to go into battle down there without a few good spells.  Otherwise we might have to back out of the sewers again for a bit.

You can try but the floating eyeball warned you against trespassing again the last time you were there so the chances of remaining undisturbed for an hour are pretty low.

OK, sounds like vacating the sewers and headed back to the house for a rest is best option.

Re: It's Time!

Short or long rest? A short rest is about an hour long, a long rest is 8 hours. The former will take you to shortly before noon. The latter will take you to about 7pm or so.

Corros will regain his spell slots after a short rest, and anyone can spend hit dice to recover HP. Gronk and Nic's combat maneuvers will also recharge. Unfortunately, Ulfgar and Jenna's spell slots aren't regained after a short rest, nor is Ulfgar's wildshape.

What'll it be, short or long?

Re: It's Time!

I still have 1 x Level 2 and 2 x Level 3 spells available (plus all Level 1's) so I'm happy enough with a short rest.

If others would prefer a long rest instead that's fine too.
