Nicolai Romanelli:
I had not read Guiding Bolt before.  That's the cat's ass for a first-level spell.

Word.

Hey, Rae, did that thing take a disengage action or do Gronk, Nic, and Jaff get opportunity attacks on it as it leaves melee range of them?

Re: Tavern Talk (OOC)

Alas, I cycled Witch Bolt out of my known spells on my level up so I could pick up a couple of second level spells.  It may get cycled back in...

I'm glad you caught that. I erroneously assumed that flying creatures could avoid opportunity attacks (because every flying creature that I remember fighting in the FtF game seemed to have had that feature). I double checked and this monster doesn't. I rolled opportunity attacks and only Nic hit. I've added this to the narrative.

Re: Tavern Talk (OOC)

That is a ridiculously awesome cantrip. Reason to go warlock all by itself.

ETA: Also, Nic's internal monologue will refer to any attack spell Corros uses as a "witch-bolt" until corrected. A magical theorist he is not. :)

Re: Tavern Talk (OOC)

Jenna's quite happy to go manticore hunting.

Dave's only concern is that if I understand the rules correctly she has fired 2 2nd level spells so she's now down to 1st Level only until she rests. I think.

Re: Tavern Talk (OOC)

Dave, I'll bet Nic can make Jenna a cynic before Jenna can make Nic an idealist.  :)

OOCly, I'm on board with the idea of a short rest and investigating the ruins.

Jenna Drax:
There's more than a hint of exasperation in Jenna's voice now, for it feels to her as the others are ganging up on her.

And Jenna's views are purely her own...

@Teg, I suspect you're probably right...

@All, I apologise if it feels like I'm overplaying this but IC Jenna is not going to respond well to any suggestion that either group of miners are left to their own devices. Teg hasn't corrupted her yet, so she's still very much an idealist.

I'm fine with it.  It's appropriate for the character, it's tactically sound, and you're not being an OOC ass about it.  :)

When you take a short rest, you can spend one or more of your hit dice to recover HP. Basically, you roll a hit die and regain that number of HP. You don't get that hit die back until finishing a long rest. So, for example, Gronk has three hit dice (1 per level). I rolled one of his hit dice (a d10 for a fighter- a character's hit die value is determined by his/her class) and it came up 1. Gronk regains one hit point.

It's a mechanic so that a PC can heal up without having to use spells, pay for it at a temple, or rest for days and day to regain HP.

Spartan, if Ulfgar wasn't already "inspired"...

Remember that you can spend that inspiration on any kind of die roll (attack, skill check, saving throw, etc.). Just let me when if/when/how you want to use it.

No, not unless you take a dash action.

I think my plan is barkskin then turn into a brown bear, which gets 30ft climb movement.  So I shouldn't be too far behind.

Corros can can shatter on the largest group of them ~15' radius.

Any questions, just ask.
