Homebrew discussion

A suggestion for anyone who wants to specialize in more than one element type pokemon.
Specifically people wanting to have 2 Elemental Connection classes.

Step 1: have a pokemon of the element you want the second Elemental Connection Edge in

Step 2: Rase that Pokemon’s Loyalty to a sufficient number depending on how hard it is to raise Loyalty. I was thinking 3 or 4 but Yveltal may determine a higher Loyalty to be necessary.

I feel as though there should be a step 3 but I don’t know what that should be.

The reason you can only take elemental connection once is because the developers want to limit Trainers type coverage. I don't really care but it's going to be a bit harder that taking the first Elemental Connection

The first requirement is that you be a bit experienced so the minimum to take it is Trainer Level 10.

The second requirement is that you have a pokemon who's types are both your current Elemental connection and the second Elemental Connection you want to get who's Loyalty is 3 or higher.
(The explanation is that you need the pokemon to show you how to harmonize the two elemental energies)
(Side note: You can use a type shifted pokemon to fill this requirement)

Jade is right. It feels like there should be a third step. But I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

Step 3 is always profit.

Of course, Step 3 could be something else, like your pokemon has to be capable of teaching YOU in the first place, courtesy of either the Edge that lets the Pokemon talk, or just being that smart (Mewtwo, or some other BS Pokemon like that capable of saying more than its own name).

So someone can use Type Sync to fulfill this requirement?

Re: Homebrew discussion

That is correct. Type sync would work to make the proper dual type pokemon.

And Some method for the pokemon to teach you sounds like a good requirement.

Re: Homebrew discussion

They have to be smart enough to teach you how to harmonize the energies. So... 4 or higher should work.

Re: Homebrew discussion

Yveltal and I had a discussion, and we drew a consensus: Mystic Senses and Elemental Connection are not mutually exclusive, although you may not have two Connections AND Mystic Senses. Mystic Senses reduces your number of Connections down to one, regardless of your teacher or tutor.

This is likely an obvious conclusion, but I'm putting it in writing.

Likewise, you all have three Mons at LV10 right now - full teams...unless, of course, one of you actually wants to play the Game of Throhs and partake in Contests as well as Duels. Then you will likely have two teams, or some very specialized Mons.
