Just checking in.  Sorry for the slow posting.  I wanted everyone to have a chance to give their input so far.

I see that Erik, Mintho and Placidus are posting regularly.  Anyone else still with us?

With Thanksgiving approaching, this will be a slow posting week for me.  Next week should return to normal.

Sorry to forget, but are any of our party proper romans?

Mintho is not.
The elf is not.
The barbarian who is not a german is not :p

I ask since they might be the best suited to speak to the rider.

Lucretius is a proper Roman.  Quintus (NPC) is also a proper Roman.

Placidus is proper roman.
Elves have been part of empire for long time.
They back bone of empire as far as my understanding goes.
A number are a member of senate.
Many of main house or elven.

Placidus is full roman citizen with full rights.
But that player information not to be used by character.

Unless the GM says otherwise...

There should be 8 of your total.

Mintho
Placidus

Erik (Has not posted in a bit)

NPCs
Marcellus (halfling)
Potitus (Roman Human)
Sergius

So basically the survivor NPCs from the encounter at the Villa.

Mintho is sorta waiting on the Decurion to say something else in response to Erik or the points Mintho made earlier.

Okay, Mintho will begin to repair the wall as instructed.

I'd post IC but it's past my bedtime.

FYI: I'll be gone all weekend. I might be able to check on my phone.

I assume things will move slowly here between now and new years with everyone having family commitments and the like.  Anyone doing anything fun?

1:

00:53, Today: Mintho Astegal rolled 4 using 1d20+3.  Init.

I don't mind you rolling my initiative. You can roll a d20 just as well as I can, especially when it requires no option/choice on my part. If the DM rolls everyone's initiative for them, it can save days in a play-by-post setting. Keep that in mind, sir.

2:

Going to Thailand for two weeks!

Oh man, why am I up front? :p

Is it our turn to act? I'll assume it is and post in-character. Forgive me if I'm wrong and delete it.

Also, Mintho has no idea what the hell magic is, but shooting what looks like the leader is always a good idea!

edit-
And a 19! Woohoo. If that misses we're screwed :p

Hopefully I shot him right in his god damned neck while he was casting a spell. Suck on that DC whatever Concentration check, barbarian druid asshole. This is Rome's house.

Hey guys, I'll be going pretty dark for two weeks starting this Tuesday to travel. I'll have my cell phone with me, but wifi access will probably be super spotty.

OK.  I have the first round of combat resolved.  Not sure how much will get done between now and January 4th.  But I will try to login and check on things.  Have a Merry Christmas and joyful New Years everyone if we don't catch up before then.

I will give it another day and then post for Lucretius, Sergius.  I have not seen them login for a bit.  I think Mintho will probably post by then as well.

Alright kids, I'm back from vacation. Catching up on everything now.

edit-
What about this OOC question in the ingame thread, DM:

OOC: What kind of climb DC/action would it be to get up into a tree, if they're big enough for that? Or to perhaps climb up then balance on top of the parts of the palisade wall that still stand?

And Mintho's position on the more recent map is incorrect.

Sorry to be a pain right after coming back, haha.

I answered the question later on.  "OOC:  I noticed that I did not answer Mintho's questions earlier.  You could spend a turn getting to one of the trees and be up it by the end of next turn.  You could try to climb the palisade but it would be difficult and you would have to roll a 15 or better against your climb skill.  It would also take a full turn to climb it."

Where should Mintho be?

Well, I feel like an asshole now. I clearly missed that post.

And Mintho ended his last turn in P12, sir.

edit-
And do I get to know if any attacks have already dropped/downed one of the germans? I ask because if I post attacking a german that's already been knocked unconscious or killed, then that's kind of a wasted turn, which I'd like to avoid.

I still don't quite get the mechanics of this no initiative thing.

The reasoning behind having everyone post their actions then resolving the actions in summary is to speed along play.  If you shoot at a german that is already dead, I will move your aim to the next likely candidate or ask you for a change before posting the summary to prevent a wasted turn.
