#1 Epilogue: The Seamen's Guild of Borth
As before, Spryll is quite impressed by the majesty of the guild hall and the well-appointedness of the place, from the fantastic front door with whorls of ironwork like sea waves to the gleaming, waxed wood floors and the massive carpeted meeting room.

"Master we report it done, Karthedon is alive and restored to his post," Spryll says.

#1 Epilogue: The Seamen's Guild of Borth
"A magical misadventure left him feeble-minded and unable to carry out his duties. It also allowed orcs to infiltrate the tower. They have been dealt with and Karthedon is back to his duties, though he nearly died of thirst and starvation, so it may be some weeks before he has fully recovered," Tavin added to the halfling's report. "Were you aware that he was a necromancer and was animating corpses to be his servants?"

Theladon listens to your report, his face serious, but relieved. "We shall send a guild delegate to inquire about Karthedon's well being and determine whether he's broken any of the terms of his agreement with Borth. Thank you for your assistance," he says. "I believe you are due 50 gp a piece to complete your payment. Given the death of your colleague, we will still pay you his remaining share, to distribute as you will."

He counts out the money: 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300. "There, the matter of payment has been attended to." He makes a note in a journal on his desktop.

"Your report of orcs is concerning," he adds. "I have heard rumors of increased orc activity in the area. Most recently, there have been reports of messengers delivering a package to a blacksmith outside the town who were attacked by orcs. But before we consider how best to handle that, I have another assignment for you -- if you're interested."

He looks up at you, gauging your level of interest.

"Elves on the road also mentioned orcs, I don't know what about," Spryll remembers.

"I'm interested in another task, sure," he adds with a smile to the guildsman.

The halfling figures these guys are so rich they have teams going all over the place solving problems.

#1 Epilogue: The Seamen's Guild of Borth
"Given the situation at the Beacon of Enon Tor, the Seamen's Guild has decided that we need additional beacons along the route to Lygol Bay, and then Borth," Theladon says. "We've identified an ideal location for a new lighthouse -- Abbey Isle -- but we've been experiencing challenges gaining access to the land.

"The ownership of the land itself isn't contested -- the previous tenants of the isle, evil clerics, clashed with a large band of local pirates. The pirates burned the abbey to the ground but suffered so many casualties that we were able to diminish their number and lay claim to the isle.

"Regardless, we have not been able to land safely on the island since then. We'd like you to  explore and clear the island of any hazards to building a new beacon there."

In reply to DM (msg # 6):

"Sounds like that is something we are trained to do. What could we expect in the way of payment and what types of dangers have been spotted ?"
