Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

The lead Doombot's eyes light up to blaze a hot, churning red. "DEFEND AGAINST HOSTILE FORCES. ENGAGE." The sound is echoed by the mulitudes of Doombots around it: "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE."

The machines behind it shift and assemble into position then energy blasts erupt from their palms, aimed generally at the heroes but more showering the street and cars and anything else in the vicinity.

"ENGAGE." "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE."

Physical area attack on four heroes:
Team    2d8
Built to Defend Latveria’s Interests (slight pause to fall into attack formation)     d4
(add to Doom Pool)
Swarm (stepped back due to Collateral Damage)    d6
Area Attack/Collateral Damage    3d6
Sensors    d8
Combat Expert    d8

Doombot Mob rolled 2,6,4,5,3,2,4,2,6 using d8,d8,d4,d6,d6,d6,d6,d8,d8 ((2,6,4,5,3,2,4,2,6)).

-d8 to add d8 to Doom Pool, as per Collateral Damage

Total: 11, Effect: d8 to Invisible Woman, Havok; d6 to Daredevil, Iron Fist

Doombot Mob splits in Doombot Mob A & Doombot Mob B, as per Divide And Conquer

Doom Pool: d6, 4d8, d10 +d6 +d8 = 2d6, 5d8, d10

Reaction Needed: Daredevil, Invisible Woman, Iron Fist, Havok

More Doombots hover into formation, energy from their palms crackling wildly around their hands, a red glow from the holes that are their eyes.

"ENGAGE." "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE." "ENGAGE."

-3d8 from Doom Pool to add Doombot Mob C

Doombot Mobs have been renamed Doombots S/... for the ones in the intersection, Doombots E/... for the ones at the embassy.

Doom Pool: d6, 4d8, d10 -3d8 = d6, d8, d10

Logan's own warning system goes off as the robot's weapons systems power up. All five of his senses are tuned into everything in the room, seen or unseen.

"Damn Doom and his metal underware! You back off right now, or I am gonna make a big mess in Vicki ' s precious embassy!" He said, claws out again. As if he was trying to Intimidate a robot, which was pointless.

What he was doing was preparing his next stance to flow into action. Planning to leap claws first into the big bot while springing off and into the rest of them. Of course, such efforts where best made against humans...

Ooc: creating fighting style asset.
19:17, Today: Secret Roll: Wolverine rolled 6,4,5,8,6 using 1d8,1d4,1d10,1d10,1d10 with rolls of 6,4,5,8,6.  creating an asset.

Edit-is our Doombot saying 'Engage' or another Doombot elsewhere? If so, I will restate my action as our Doombot seems to be doing nothing to antagonize Logan.

"God damn it," Matt mutters, nanoseconds before his body becomes a blurring red series of flips and contortions, The Devil of Hell's Kitchen using the surrounding cars, fire escapes, brick walls, and his own momentum to keep launching himself ever higher, aiming to get to the rooftops in record time and in as chaotic a fashion as possible to avoid being blasted.

Of course, in making this impressive display of acrobatics, our hero has had to drop his hold on the swingline still wrapped around the fuming Bulldozer.  He hopes that the previous work he's done will help long enough for the damn pavement to resolidify already...before they're all incinerated in an international incident, that is.

Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

When using a negative Distinction, please note how it is being used as a disadvantage. Distinctions don't automatically slot in to work in the story and an explanation for how they're being used, especially negatively, will help. It also helps carry the narrative. This isn't obligatory but it would be helpful.

Wolverine: please be sure to note your current PP tally, preferably at the end of the post. You ought to be at 4 (starting at 1 and getting 1 in msgs #70, 85, & 112).

Doom Pool (d6, 2d8, d10) reaction to Wolverine's attempt to create Fighting Style Asset, Total:14 , Effect: d10 (msg #112):

Watcher rolled 1,4,1,2 using d6,d8,d8,d10 ((1,4,1,2)).

Total: 6, Effect: d4 (default)
Extraordinary Success steps acting Effect die to d12
2 Opportunities (available first to Wolverine)

Whether it is an official rule or not, it is now established that a created Asset is good for one use, unless a PP is spent, in which case it will stay until the end of the scene, unless it goes away due to the narrative or an opponent rolls against it. Also, a limit of one Asset at a time. So, Wolverine, you can use this Asset once or you can spend a PP to keep it for the scene.

It's the Doombot in the lead that is bleating "ENGAGE" but the ones behind it are also echoing it.

Wolverine shuffles into a stance that would intimidate any human. Unfortunately, these are mechanical beings bearing down on him and they do not scare, nor do they back down.

(OOC-Gotcha. I thought I suggested that in my distinction when I wrote:

"Of course, such efforts where best made against humans..."

Thus showing my "The best at what I do-1d4 (+1 pp)". It does not work so well against robots normally.

I will spend a PP, thus showing under my bio my current PP count of 3 is correct.

If The Doombot near us three is saying 'Engage', I will keep my post as is-so Shehulie won't be that annoyed with me.

Hopefully.

"Aw, crap." She-hulk mutters as the doombot comes online and Wolverine takes up his fighting stance. She can't help to feel a surge of satisfaction as the receptionist turns on Pym and reveals itself to also be a 'bot. "Knew it!" she thinks to herself. "I think she knows how you treat women." she says to Pym, unable to resist the easy dig.

But she still wanted to get out of here without additional violence. She says to the receptionist as she continues to try to back out of the room, "Ok, look we'll just be going then. You already have enough mess to clean up here. You've got the memory stick and YJ's digits. You can bill him for the repairs. And maybe he can hook you up with a nice megalomaniacal robot. He likes building those.".

So it would be a fight then...

She-hulk's back pedaling had put her at the periphery of the doombot's blast. She digs in with her gamma-enhanced strength and leans against the repulsor blast. She partially resists it - her feet dig two tracks into the expensive flooring as she inches back - but it still manages to push her into the next room

(New) Knocked Back d8 Complication on She-Hulk (stepped down due to She-Hulk's higher Effect die).

As the blast forces Wolverine through the window and out of the building and Yellowjacket shrinks enough to effectively disappear from the scuffle, She-Hulk is thrust deeper into the embassy, up an ornate staircase leading toward the back, shattering every step as she hurtles to the top.

The armada of Doombots does not hesitate to move in on the lone heroine, taking no note of her being knocked from her feet or the sudden absence of the other heroes.

The Avenger's recovery is not nearly quick enough as the Doombts move swifly toward her, now striding toward her instead of hovering, as the landing at the top of the stairs is a smaller space than below.
