Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

Wolverine recovered from the blast with no harm, but he was outside. However, the broken window allowed full sounds and scents to flow from the inside of the building to where he was. He did not need to see Jen to know where she was. He could even hear the slight buzzing that was most likely Yellowjacket himself.

He was not too worried about the shrunken hero-as no doubt he could escape if need be. Plus, Jen made the man sound almost as bad as Vicki himself. Almost.

Unlike Yellowjacket. Jen was not in shape to get out on her own. He needed to get her out of there, and fast. Which meant he had to make an opening for her.

"Good thing I always bring my keys..." He snarls-runs to where Jen approximately is, and proceeded to attack the structure separating her from him. Needless to say, his combat prowess added to his unbreakable claws go a long way when attacking a large unmoving section of wall...

She-hulk continues to lean into and against the Doombot's blast, biding her time until she got an opening and hoping to minimize how deeply the thing pushed her into the embassy. Her fingers gouge 10, inch-deep lines into the granite floor of the embassy as she attempts to hold on against the force beam.

"Any. Time. Now." she grunts out, unclear who she is talking to.

Asset created
It's obvious now but in the future, be sure to note when Asset is available to everyone.

Even though She-Hulk is on the second floor of the building, Wolverine is able to rend a sizable hole in the wall mere feet away from where she is. But an escape would still take effort, as the Doombots are close enough to intrude between her and this new exit.

She-Hulk holds her own now but that edge could flip at any moment.

Meanwhile, nearby in the street, the heroes scatter but the Invisible Woman holds her ground, presumably creating constructs of transparent energy around her. As she focuses her attention skyward toward the Doombots, however, the ground below her bucks and while it does not cave in completely, it disrupts her stance and her control falters. A hunk of concrete comes from its point of origin and toward her, randomly avoiding her shields and striking her, drawing blood from the side of her head. She falters for the moment but recovers to jump away from the area of street collapsing below her.

d8 physical stress to Invisible Woman

The lead Doombot tracks Daredevil and Iron Fist as they clamber up the buildings. Its head moves slowly up and down and side to side, following an average between their respective and changing positions.  Just as either of them pause, to regroup for an instant before leaping to the next fire outcropping, it raises its hands and the energy around them goes from crackling to exploding outward. Its ever-hollow voice seems to gain in volume: "ELIMINATE THREATS TO LATVERIA."

Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

If the Wrecker is angered by Thunderball's initiative that started this fracas with the Doombots, he does not show it. The three men stand stunned for the moment watching the Doombots rain energy bolts and missiles on the city block around them but then at once they move into action. They seem to brush the attacks aside but their swift action shows an urgency that goes just beyond concern for physical damage.

The Wrecker reaches into the ground below and scoops up chunks of concrete is if they were soft clay. "If there ain't no sidewalk -- "

"'If there is no sidewalk,'" Thunderball corrects.

" -- Then we can't get nothin' to keep standin' on it anyways."

Thunderball starts but then sighs instead.

Nonetheless, Thunderball and Piledriver follow their leader, picking up monstrous slabs of concrete and asphalt and hurl them, almost with accuracy, at the sky full of robotic foes. Every few moments the debris connects with a Doombot and it explodes, disused mechanic parts crashing in flaming chunks to the ground. Ba-CRASH! With the sheer number of Doombots filling the sky above the intersection, the Wrecking Crew's efforts seem to make little difference, save for producing more debris to fall from the sky. Ba-CRASH!

Bulldozer continues to struggle against his entrapment. "Sass-a-frass-a-frass-a-sass," he grumbles to himself as the line alludes him, though his feet finally emerge from the asphalt as the street falls apart around him and anyone on or near it.

Just then a sound rings out, even over the clamor in the intersection. Around the corner on the other side of the conflict comes a scream. A woman is inside a car, still there even after the area was cleared of bystanders, and if she could have gotten out before, she is trapped now. The energy strikes from the Doombots above have pelted the area around her, churning the ground and upending the cars in the street to mash into each other, now with the lady's car at the center. The woman claws at the windsheild as she screams, pinned into a car that is slowly being crushed around her. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

-d6 from Doom Pool to step down Bulldozer's Complication(s)

-d8 from Doom Pool to create Danger: Woman Trapped d8 Scene Complication
This will act as a Complication on all heroes in the area if there is not already a Complication on the hero, until an action is taken to roll against the Doom Pool and beat a d8 Effect.

"No no nonononono..." Daredevil hisses through gritted teeth as he nearly breaks his arm using a fire escape guardrail to change momentum and direction in mid-backflip.  Without missing another beat, however, the Devil of Hell's Kitchen has abandoned his escape plan and rebounded off of the nearest building facade to bring him almost impossibly close to where the woman remains trapped in her car.  Daring only to remain in one spot for as long as it may take, Matt heaves with all his strength against the debris keeping the innocent woman pinned.

The top of her head glances off the ceiling then, in her lingering dizziness, nearly smashes into the adjacent wall, but manages to eek out an escape through the exit, to the street outside where Wolverine is ready for action, claws bared.

There are enough Doombots assembled to be divided and not lose power through quantity. Half of them follow She-Hulk as she leaves the building and also bring their concentration to Wolverine as she meets up with the mutant again, with the other half turning their attention to Yellowjacket, regardless of his size. Their eyes flare at the nearer target on which to focus.

Who was just moment ago a bright, helpful aid for visitors to the consulate, now her eyes glow red and energy shimmers around her outstretched hands, which now fire blasts of concussive force. "ELIMINATE THREATS TO LATVERIAN SECURITY," it speaks.

In his peripheral vision, Yellowjacket notices the flash-drive he handed to the receptionist fall to the floor with a distant click. Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

"WE ARE ALREADY OUTSIDE, CHIPHEAD! WE WERE TRYING TO LEAVE!" Logan roars. The tiny guy was still inside-somewhere, and Jen was out here on her own. She still was pretty beat up. What was not helping was even as he deflected energy bolts with his claws, he had to dodge cars trying to drive away from the wild Melee.

He finally lost his temper, and leaped up, swung off a streetlight and attempt to land claws first into one of the bots...

OOC:

Spending 1 PP to add a die to my action.

Total=20, effect die-d12

If I get a really high result, can I hit another bot in the mob? I am willing to spend another PP to get that result if need be...

Current PP alteration=0 plus or minus, depending on how bad the robots mess up their defense roll.

Next up, Shehulkie!
