Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

Feeling a surge of strength as Yellow Jacket douses her with some Pym particles, She-hulk grabs a large chunk of highly polished marble from the rapidly growing pile of rubble around the embassy. She uses the chunk of marble like a shield and angles it to deflect the Doombots' blasts into the mob of bots inside.

-------- REACTION TO DOOMBOTS ------------
vs. 10/d8

Team d10, Latverian Embassy d8, Durability d10, Collateral damage d10, Combat Expert d8, Growth d10

22:18, Today: She-Hulk rolled 16,5 using 4d10,2d8 with rolls of 4,3,5,4,4,1.  react to doombot attack.

Will spend a PP to add 3rd die to total
13/d10/1opp
Will spend 2nd PP to counterattack d10 to doombots

Doom pool gets +d6 for Collateral Damage SFX
And I assume Watcher buys the opp

5PP - 2PP + 1PP = 4PP

------------------------------------------

She then hurls the chunk of marble at the receptionist and doombots inside, to try to give Pym some breathing room.

------- SHE-HULK ACTION ------------------
Team d10, Jade Giantess d8, Strength d12, Area Attack d6, Combat Expert 2d6

22:25, Today: She-Hulk rolled 10,4,3,14 using d12,d10,d8,3d6 with rolls of 10,4,3,6,5,3.  throw chunk at bots.

16/d10 to receptionist, d6 to bots

Still at 4PP

Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

YJ just grunts as he tries to super impose himself between the shots and the others. <<reaction vs doombot receptionist>>

He sighs as he is forced to reach in with his giant hand try smash the receptionist. <<attack of opportunity>>

Then as he hopefully keeps his hand on said receptionist he attempts to shrink him and her down to take her out of the fight. <<attempt to shrink down receptionist bot>>

OOC:

16 | d8 | 0 opps +1 pp for distinction
YJ has 4 PP
09:42, Today: Yellowjacket rolled 8,4,8,3 using d8,d4,d10,d8 with rolls of 8,4,8,3. reaction vs doombot receptionist.

16 | d10 | 0 opps -1 pp to activate opportunity
YJ at 3 PP
9:54, Today: Yellowjacket rolled 8,8,2,6 using d8,d8,d10,d8 with rolls of 8,8,2,6.  attack of oppurtunity.

19 | d8 | 0 opps -1 pp to keep extra dice, not sure if this counts as a complication or what but at d8 she'd shrink to the size of a action figure
YJ at 2 PP
08:42, Today: Yellowjacket rolled 2,5,10,4 using d8,d8,d10,d8 with rolls of 2,5,10,4.  attempt to shrink down receptionist bot.

Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

Please note your current PP tally in your post, preferably at the end. This will create a paper trail, which noting in the bio side-bar does not do.

You always have an option to spend a PP to add an extra Effect die. In this case a PP could have inflicted two Effect dice on the Mob.

Defending Wolverine's physical attack, Total: 20, Effect: d12 (msg #157):
Team    2d8
Constructed by Emperor Doom (but possibly not designed to defend against adamantium)    d4
(add to Doom Pool)
Swarm    d8
Super-Heavy Plating    d10
Combat Expert    d8

Doombots E rolled 3,1,6,3,3,2 using d8,d4,d8,d8,d10,d8 ((3,1,6,3,3,2)).

Total: 9, Effect: d10
Extraordinary Success x2 steps acting Effect die to d12++
1 Opportunity (available first to Wolverine)

Removing 1 from Mob Team

Activating Wolverine's Opportunity to add d8 to Team for Reinforcements

Wolverine's adamantium claws slice through a Doombot as if it were the thinnest paper. But even this spectacular display does not slow the other Doombots approaching him, their eyes glowing. They chant ceaselessly: "ELIMINATE." "ELIMINATE." "ELIMINATE."

Any flow of traffic outside the embassy has long since stopped, cars piling on top of each other in minor to major accidents, yet there has apparently been no blood spilled and there are no signs of people lunk-headed enough to stick around. New Yorkers usually know to vacate the scene when a tussle breaks out between super-powered combatants, especially outside such an eminent place.

-d8 from Doom Pool to create Traffic Pile-Up Outside Embassy Scene Distinction (for this group)

Doom Pool: 2d6, 7d8, d10 (-d6/+d8) -d8 = d6, 7d8, d10

Doom Pool: 2d6, 8d8, d10 (-d6/+d8) = d6, 9d8, d10

She-Hulk's controlled rage explodes as she flings chunk of marble from the ground at targets, first blasting through a cluster of Doombots, leaving behind only minor explosions and clunky robot parts falling to ground, then another hunk hurled inside the embassy, glancing off the lead Doombot but firmly hitting the receptionist, currently embroiled with Yellowjacket. Though the strike sheered off much of her back, exposing mechanics and wires alive with electricity, she/it does not turn, not diverting attention from the big Avenger.

Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

Msg #159: Every action only gets one dice pool to act, so the first -- the attack on the receptionist -- will be considered your action, the second -- the attempt to shrink it -- is disregarded.

The Watcher's Opportunity was not activated as a die in your pool (though I can't tell since you didn't detail your dice pool), so, assuming you did not add a die from activation, you do not have to spend the PP for it. Assuming you did not, and since the last dice pool is not valid, I figure that you have 4 PPs still.

Please detail your dice pool for each roll.

Doombot Receptionist's physical stress was added after your roll so it is not available for this roll.

Doombot Receptionist rolled 3,3,4,6,8 using d4,d4,d10,d8,d8 ((3,3,4,6,8)).

Total: 14, Effect: d10

Yellowjacket's attack succeeds. Doombot Receptionist's physical stress steps to d12

Yellowjacket brings down his enlarged hand on the receptionist-Doombot, striking a mighty blow, busting much of its protective plating and leaving it standing on a crater of shattered floor. But still standing, and one red eye still glowing, focusing still on the enlarged Avenger. "EL -- ELIMIN -- ELIMIN -- ELIMINATE," it stutters through static.

Just outside, more of the crowd of Doombots advance over the remnants of their robotic compatriots, swiftly replacing those that the heroes have taken down without concern. "ELIMINATE. ELIMINATE. ELIMINATE."

Meanwhile, down the street, the Doombots in the sky continue blasting the heroes and anything else that moves. Their blasts come like rain, disrupting and churning the asphalt as if it were a raging sea. Much of the streets caves in, the abandoned cars collapsing in to the ground, gas mains rupture and sidewalks fall inward. Yet the androids do not relent in their attack, making up for whatever focus they lack with the theory that with enough destruction, heroes will be struck eventually.

The Doombot that first arrived -- clearly designated by the numbers and letters on its chest -- that had initially been at the front of the throng of androids in the lobby now makes its way through that group, the others moving aside without looking or crowding. The thing's eyes glow red like fire, its focus on the mutant who had sliced through its fellows. It has clearly made its choice as to the greatest present threat, as it clears its way and blasts the hero with the power it has built in its outstretched hands. "THREAT DESIGNATED. I'll assume the PP is for a counterattack activating the Opportunity rolled in the dice pool against you. Since you've stressed out the Doombot Receptionist, you can take whatever wreckage from it as you like. It won't count as an Asset but you can use it in the narrative.

Doombot Receptionist stressed out.

The receptionist's remaining eye glows as it watches Yellowjacket puts his hands around it and begins crushing. It could be the fact that its mask-like face is sliding off its mechanical head but it seems to sag into sadness, that cheery smile gone forever more. The details for your surroundings are in the narrative and in the Scene Distinctions but a quick version with the high points: There are you heroes, near each other, Havok a short ways away. There's the woman trapped in the car. The intersection and street (https://www.google.com/maps/@4...g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656) are nearly obliterated. The Wrecking Crew are near the northeast building. The Invisible Woman is in the vicinity, likely around the corner. The sky is full of Doombots, too many to count, and they're firing on the heroes and anything else on the ground.

Logan sensed the other doombots moving in on him, even as he only scarred the outer metal of the larger robot. However, he also saw the now giant Yellowjacket-and barley needed any special senses to do so. Jen was also looking a little better, and maybe they could all leave. There was nothing else to be done here. They all should go...but he could not leave Jen behind.

"Enough! I don't need any more crap from you!" He knocked aside the outstreached limb blasters of the doombots, and proceeds to slash into the whole group. Trying to reduce their numbers down to a point where Jen could remove them with one mighty blow...or whoever he did not slash to bits.

Havok, trapped in a momentary reverie, snaps out of it just as the blast from the Doombots that nearly did in his fellow heroes flashes by him, singeing the shoulder of his jury-rigged suit. As the dodge spins him around, he carries through with the momentum the rest of the way and comes back to his original direction the unleashes a torrent of deadly cosmic force which tears through the androids that discharged the assault upon him. Their obliterated pieces rain to the ground, feet from the protectors of Hell's Kitchen and K'un Lun.

As part of their apparent effort against the heroes, another squadron of Doombots float closer, the crackling energy around their hands becoming blasts that destroy more of the street and buildings around the heroes.

Re: The Amazing Avengers #2: "...The Twilight's Final Gleaming"

-d8 from Doom Pool to remove Complications

From somewhere in the middle of the street and the chaos comes the gravelly voice of a forgotten combatant: "Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy -- AHHH!"  Bulldozer stands upright with arms outstretched, the strands of Daredevil's swing-line dropping from him as he steps out of his imprisonment in the street. "I am free!" he hollers.

Doom Pool: d8, 5d10 = 5d10

Next Action: Doombot XZ-6UNR840
