'Discretion is the better part of Valour' seemed particularly appropriate to the current face-off.  Without saying a word Bishop takes position inside the room, standing apart from the Avengers.

As a purple hue appears around Justice and Bishop moves around the room, Magneto's mouth snarls beneath his helmet. "You, who would turn against your own kind, would make demands upon me, your superior, a leader to those who could each smash you beneath their heels?" His eyes narrow and his voice lowers with no less intensity. "Please, little one, come closer and make your demands." His hand moves from behind his cape and reaches slowly toward the heroes. His hand is open, palm up, fingers outstretched, but the gesture may not be a harmless invitation.

"Superior? all I see is a delusional old man... just because I share a mutation with you doesn't mean we are the same kind. You are a criminal, a terrorist a racist and all your talk about the same kind is just a thin mask to hide your megalomaniac desire to rule... so don't lecture me about my kind. Now release the Scarlet Witch and begon like yesterday news or face the Avengers!"

Justice summoned his power his hands glowing with the force he is ready to unleash his body levitating half several inches above the floor.

The Juggernaut chortles loudly at Bishop's comment but says nothing. He leans forward slightly and She-Hulk's face sinks further into the metal floor.

Magneto keeps his focus on Justice. "Do not threaten with parlor tricks when you are in the presence of true power, little one." Magneto squints, not bothering to look at Justice's hands. "You, a naive child, would tell me what I am? You, who would turn your back on your own blood, our own birth-right? You had a choice, a simple one with a clear outcome, and you chose your enemy. Instead of fighting against those who would subjugate you, you chose to side with those who would put a knife to your back the instant they feel threatened by your superiority over them. How can you believe now, even as you stand at their forefront as is your right, that they will not? You pathetic pup -- you believe these sorry "Avengers" will not leave you to die when they will leave a mutant behind? Look at what they have done to my daughter!" His other hand points toward the table as spittle shoots from his mouth in the murky, crimson light. On the table, the Scarlet Witch's body spasms again and bucks upward violently.

Justice levitate closer toward Magneto "Look at you? have ever taken responsibility for your actions? have you ever done anything but to satisfy your own anger and thirst for futile revenge? Avenger take everyone, be they human, mutant or artificial... I'd rather be an Avenger than one of your blinded lackies. We came to rescue the Scarlet Witch and we shall... now if you care for you daughter move aside and let us aid her... or is she just another pawn in your quest for world domination."

Total: 14, Effect: d8
1 Opportunity (available first to Wolfsbane)
I’ll pay the 1PP I just got (from Watcher taking my Opp) to take this Opportunity.

Rahne had failed to sense who was in the room before she entered it, as the ‘the whole area is like a smoke-screen ... there is a buzz like static covering any sound and the scent in the air’.
But that also meant that the senses of her opponents were also compromised.

Additionally, Justice and his ally had strode straight into the room, drawing the attention of all within with their presence and their mouths.

This allowed Rahne a rare Opportunity; and she allowed herself to be guided by her Wild Side as her enemies focused on her Team mates.

With her Superhuman Senses, unlike the intruders, she was easily able to see through the chaotic smoke-screened environment. Not only could she see where she was going, but she could tell when they were looking her way. She knew just when and where to move.

As Justice and Bishop spoke with Magneto and his cohorts, Rahne slipped into the darkened rooms, and through the myriad, flickering shadows.
When she was done, that White Witch bitch was within swift striking distance ... and, hopefully, nobody knew Rahne was there.

Nightcrawler's lips pull back in a subconscious snarl as the room opens up before him.  Putting aside the possibility that this was a mental trick, something he simply had no choice in, considering the threat, Kurt dropped instinctively into a defensive stance, ready to take any cue from Bishop or Justice that the time to act had come.  Privately, Nightcrawler wondered how possible it might be to BAMF! the Scarlet Witch out of there with his life intact...

"Those with power are the ones on the side of right. Responsibility is chosen by those who wield that power." Magneto regards no one in particular but his voice fills the space. "You shall see if this power is a trick, meaningless whelp."

The floor underneath the heroes trembles.

Wolfsbane stalks the shadows, her slight form, while lupine, under the notice of those around the table. She slowly approaches the White Queen, when memories of that cruel headmistress come flooding back in her mind. What Rahne, now no longer a scared school-girl but a full-grown adult, could do with that buried rage is up to only her, as she comes within slashing distance of her former opponent, both a teacher and a battle-field foe. That she was also a teammate and fellow faculty in these times of mercurial alliances might mean little.

Just as Wolfsbane moves into position in the shadows, the White Queen cries out. She hunches over with hands to the Scarlet Witch's head and grunts deeply. "Almost... no time..." Lights like fireworks pop from between and around the two, illuminating the room for instants, increasing in intensity as moments tick by.

Magneto pauses, only his long cape moving. He glances at the White Queen and Scarlet Witch then back to the heroes.

While Justice moves toward Magneto, Iron Man takes a place beside him. "Mr., uh, Magnus, we can talk this out. We have an emotional investment in Wanda and her safety, too, and we just want to get her back to -- "

"Master," the woman in the long cape and eyeless head-dress interrupts, over the increasing rumbling under the heroes' feet. She points toward Iron Man. "There is something not right. He is not -- "

"SILENCE!" Magneto demands.

The self-styled master of magnetism reaches a hand like an up-turned claw toward Iron Man and pulls his fingers into a fist. Iron Man's armored form rises in the air then shakes once before becoming still. "Urk!" Tony Stark chokes.

On my next action: whenever you deem that to be.

I will not be accepting the Opportunity.
And your math on my last post was certainly more accurate than my own.  Good catch, thank you.

The floor was shaking.
And Magneto seemed intent and imminently about to crush Tony Stark.

The White Witch, her presence already evoking age-old anger in Rahne, was right there  ... and suddenly she cries out, hunching over with hands to the Scarlet Witch's head and grunting deeply.
Rahne knew she had to move, had to do it NOW!

Like lightning, with Enhanced Reflexes, Rahne unleashed her Wild Side in a Berserker display of fury.
Rahne exploded from her Cloak of Darkness, shifting into her Werewolf form, and with a terrifying howl, she sent tables and equipment flying, as she lunged towards Emma Frost.

But her attack was designed to overcome and overpower the White Witch, leaving her at Rahne's mercy ... not to physically harm the woman.

Spending my last PP to create 2 Effects: the first being an Emotional Stress attack on Frost; the second (an asset?) to get Rahne's talons around her throat: to hold her hostage, and ready to tear her throat out at a moments notice.

Action:  Scare the shite out of Emma, driving her towards emotional breakdown ... and in her moment of confusion, get Rahne's clawed fingers around her throat.
D10 Affiliation: Team
D8 Power: Enhanced Reflexes
D8 Distinction: Wild Side
D12 Asset created last action: 'Cloaked in Darkness'
D8 SFX: 'Berserker'
D8 Specialty: Menace
I don't know if '{White Witch} cries out, hunching over with hands to the Scarlet Witch's head and grunting deeply' gets me any benefit ... hell, maybe she's already suffering Emotional Stress?!?

rolled 9,1,4,7,6,7
= 18 total
= d12 Emotional Stress, d8 'Gotcha by the throat' Asset.

= 1 Opportunity for the GM
     = +1 PP to me
and   return borrowed Doom Pool die: now a d10

IF this succeeded, Rahne would (holding Emma's throat, but not taking her away from Wanda) look towards Magneto and say,
"Leave everyone alone.  You hurt him, I return the favour to one of yours".

When Magneto take hold of Iron Man Justice act at once, he had to admit there was something odd with Mr. Stark... he would never have spoken like this but this was an Avenger matter...

Magneto's unprovoked attack on the Iron Man signified that there was no way to resolve the conflict peacefully.  Regrettable, considering who they were up against:

"We can't possibly fight them" he grunted, talking to the Nightcrawler in particular "Get us all out of here"

And with that, he directed his energy blast not at Magneto, or any of his cohorts, but at the scrap of metal wrapped around Cyclops head.  They're going to need any help they can get in this fight...

Wolfsbane makes her surprising attack from the shadows, going straight for Emma Frost's throat. Her strike takes the White Queen unaware and, in the skirmish, the table is upended, sending the spasming Scarlet Witch to the floor mid-seizure. The White Queen, at Wolfsbane's mercy, has a facial expression that turns from shocked surprise to fear, then that fear is nearly overcome by a fury as intense as the room around them. "You stupid, insolent idiot," she hisses, "I was doing the only thing that could have possibly saved us. Now you've doomed us all. You've doomed all of existence!"

Magneto turns to see the aftermath of the clash, disregarding the threat made by Wolfsbane. His face is drawn into a pained expression of pure terror. Even his horrified gasp fills the room.

Magneto turns back to the heroes. Iron Man, released from the mutant's control, crashes to the floor even before Justice begins to entangle the villain in his telekinesis. Even as he is ensnared, Magneto looks back toward where the Scarlet Witch lies on the other side of the up-turned table, then back again. His lack of activity save for an exclamation allows the fact that he is not aware he is being entangled. "What have you done?" he howls, the look of horror on his face having only increased. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?"

Bishop's blast knocks Cyclops the rest of the way to the floor but it also dislodges the metal around his head. From there, Cyclops can finagle a modest optic blast to care of the binding around his hands, then feet, and he is freed before Bishop's hands can cool. "Thanks," Cyclops says to Bishop, rising to his feet, adjusting his mask -- a large X over his eyes where a visor once managed his mutant power -- and looking around to get some bearing. "You might just have saved the -- " Until he looks to the over-turned table, Wolfsbane at Emma Frost's throat, and the Scarlet Witch dumped to the floor. "No! NOOOOO!" he cries at the disaster this has become... and the much worse that is to come.

The Amazing Avengers #3: "...What So Proudly Hated"

A lull washes over the group as the sound and air seem to be sucked out of the large room for an instant. The space is then filled with an ascending, white light from the center, where the table once stood, now overturned. On the other side, where the Scarlet Witch fell to the floor, her body now rises, arms and legs and head hanging from her torso, as if a powerful string is pulling her by the chest to the roof of the room. She appears as the source of the luminescence, a brilliance so bright that even eyes shut tight cannot defend against it. She moans lightly but does not react to the happening. Her limbs and hair swing slightly as she is taken upward.

Her ascent slows then comes to a stop when she comes halfway to the ceiling, then the light coming from within her becomes even more effulgent and piercing. The light builds over breathless moments then finally releases, discharging a shock-wave of invisible force that thunders outward like a vicious wave over all assembled. Every inhabitant in the room is assaulted with an merciless blow sent directly to the center of their brains, as if intending to shatter all minds from the inside out. The force is so great that it manifests physically as well, shaking the piles of discarded training equipment around the room and rattling the walls.

Doom Pool mental attack (2d6, d8, d10) on everyone in Danger Room:

With one last gasp -- "Oh!" -- the White Queen's head rolls back and her body goes limp under Wolfsbane's claws.

White Queen knocked out

As the survivors of the blast in the room recover, the light that has embodied the Scarlet Witch also begins to regain its power, starting as only slightly dimmer than it was before the wave, then building quickly, already to an even brighter level, intensifying to an even greater, more destructive degree.

Spend d8 from Doom Pool to add Scarlet Witch Hex Fury Scene Complication to scene

Mystique calls from the back of the group, the sound of her voice only barely rising above the rumbling coming from the sheer power emanating from the hovering Scarlet Witch. "Destiny has visions. She had a strong one about this. We were sure of it. But something has gone awry. Something a human did -- the armored one. Stark. Now... now," she lowers the rifle she's holding as if it's just a bunch of useless metal. "Now it's all wrong. No matter who's responsible, this is about to get bad. Really bad." Her yellow eyes squint as she looks into the room. "Human or mutant, if you're able, I very much recommend you run."

Taking that cue through he is too deep into the space to hear Mystique from her stance in the doorway to the Danger Room, Juggernaut stops holding his head then steps off of She-Hulk only to start moving toward the entrance of the room. "Gotta get outta here. Gotta go! OUTTA MY WAY!" he shouts as he makes an unstoppable bee-line out of the room, mowing down whatever or whoever is in his way. This is unfortunate for those who are in that path -- especially Bishop -- who could be lucky to only be thrown aside and not fully assaulted and flattened.

Stepping away from the path of the Juggernaut would have been the smart thing to do.  Likely, if his head wasn't throbbing from the moment he woke up, he would have done it too.

But having been pushed aside one too many times that afternoon has taken a toll on his psych, further exacerbated by the fact that he didn't actually know who he was facing.   Instead of ducking, Bishop braced for impact, leaving his shoulder in the path of the giant with the intent of body-slamming him back.

It was like standing in front of a freight train.  Worse, actually.  And if it wasn't for the fact that Bishop physique was supernaturally enhanced by his reserve of energy, he would have broken every bone in his body.

Instead, he merely grunted a painful 'Uff' as he spun around on his feet, barely maintaining his balance from the force of the impact as the Juggernaut rushed passed him without even registering he was there.

PP 04, PS d10, ES 00, MS d6

The Amazing Avengers #3: "...What So Proudly Hated"

((Reaction: Team d8, Devout Catholic d8, Mystic Expert d8
16:31, Today: Nightcrawler rolled 10 using 3d8, unique dice with rolls of 1,6,3.  Resist Mental Attack.
Total 3, Effect d4.
Ouch.))

Nightcrawler almost nods to Bishop, showing he understands his intent...until the devastating wave of mental force causes the blue X-Man to double over, clutching his cranium as he hits his knees.  The physical blow that accompanies it barely registers; Kurt flops backward a bit, his eyes still screwed shut.

When he is again able, Nightcrawler looks around at the group trying to flee.  He looks to Bishop again, only to watch the burly mutant get plowed into by the Juggernaut, and finally looks to Cyclops, his old friend and former leader.

"Scott!  Für die Liebe Gottes, what is going on here?!"

The Amazing Avengers #3: "...What So Proudly Hated"

Bishop has the most fortunate outcome possible, avoiding the full brunt of Juggernaut's attack. Even receiving a fraction of the assault would be much more than enough to crush any powerful man, so Bishop is lucky he survived even getting close in the encounter. His stance to confront the illuminated Scarlet Witch is disrupted but he could have spun even closer to her and the immense power she is radiating.

Add d6 to Doom Pool from Iceman's Opportunity

Iceman's attempt fails
Add d10 to Doom Pool from Iceman's Omega-Level Mutant SFX

The manifestation of any attempt Iceman makes to slow the Juggernaut disintegrates to bits, though he succeeds in coating much of the floor in the Danger Room in very slippery ice. But the massive mutant is not deterred in the least. Instead, Juggernaut moves through, tossing aside Captain Marvel on his way through the doorway and into the darkness of the hallway outside. Ka-SHHHOMMMGK! goes the sound, even greater than his earlier strikes on the elevator wall, of his crashing through the mansion's structure and beyond it, to wherever he is escaping, with nothing stopping him, as per his mutant ability. Powerful, calamitous aftershocks follow, possibly the mansion further collapsing as the Juggernaut rends through anything keeping it up.

"We don't have a lot of time for questions or answers, if she keeps building up energy like that," Mystique states, lower only because she's gotten closer to Iceman. "No, I've never known you to run. But I've also known you to survive. That is not guaranteed in this instance." She lowers her rifle to shield her eyes with a hand from the Scarlet Witch's radiance. "This might be the time that an instinct for survival beats your pride. Or needs to."

Doom Pool: 3d6, 5d8, d10 (-d6/+d8) +d10 = 2d6, 6d8, 2d10
