"Hey, that's a good one! Does the real Iron Man know you're a crap version?  That color is awful! You're not trying stealth mode, are you?  I'm sure it'll work -- if everyone's blind and stupid!"  Then continues his maniacal laughter, this time directed right at the charging, armored hero.

Adding d6 to Doom Pool from Opportunity.

In combat, use Combat Expert/Master instead of Tech Expert/Master, or none if you have no Combat skills.

Reaction to Iron Man's physical attack,  Total: 17; Effect: d10:
Team d6
Villainous Mercenary    d8
Superhuman Durability d10
Enhanced Reflexes    2d8
(-d6 from Doom Pool for Library of Moves, doubling Enhanced Reflexes)
Acrobatic Master d10
From Doom Pool    d10
(-d10 from Doom Pool)

Taskmaster rolled 6,8,7,4,3,3,1 using d6,d8,d10,d8,d8,d10,d10 ((6,8,7,4,3,3,1)).

Adding an extra die to total, -d6 from Doom Pool
Total: 21, Effect: d10
Iron Man's attack fails
1 Opportunity available

Status: PS:00 ES:00 MS:00

Doom Pool: d6 +d6 -d6 -d6, 7d8, 3d10 -d10 = 7d8, 2d10

Taskmaster's nimble side-step out of Iron Man's way is so graceful and effortless that it makes the Avenger's charge look like a clumsy, amateurish attack. For a finishing touch, the Taskmaster waves his cape over the passing Iron Man like a matador's red cloth, at the same time a quick scraping sound comes from the vicinity of their brief closeness to each other. "Olé, lame-o!"

Hercules crouches, leg muscles swelling, and leaps off the landing. He arcs through the air -- but he has not aimed himself at the Taskmaster's platform. The metal flooring rings as he lands amid the Hydra soldiers, scattering them like bowling pins, and a roar of "HAVE AT THEE!" echoes off the walls as he starts laying about himself with hamlike fists.

Spending 1 PP for a Flying Leap (d8) stunt and attacking the Hydra army with intent to do physical stress.

Re: The Amazing Avengers #1: "...By the Dawn's Evil Glare"

After hearing the ear-piercing shriek, Sentry's attention shifts directly into the hallway. Thinking critically about the unknown environment, Sentry takes a moment to land on the roof, standing upon his two sturdy feet. Walking slowly in with a powerful stride, Sentry walks directly into the hall, so focused on the echo's location that he heeds no time to avoid shrugging his massive deltoids against the Panther. While in the middle of his step, Sentry suddenly stops, as he faces an epileptic patient's worst nightmare: a door filled with flashing lights. Caught off guard by an intense array of light, Sentry stands still with largely dilated pupils, facing the frame, deeply mesmerized by the colorful patterns. With a slight twitch, the Sentry returns to the living, but with a noticeably different state of being, as if his chakras had been swiftly realigned,
Sentry- the compelling, forceful powerhouse- turns his line of sight towards Panther. Sentry reaches behinds his cape, pulling out a pair of sunglasses from his belt. Still looking at Panther, he opens the spectacles, placing them over his ears and eyes. Releasing a sly smirk on his face, Sentry says to Panther, "Lets party", as he strolls directly into the room: to party.

Hercules's attack succeeds but Effect is not enough to remove member of Hydra Team.

Status: Team 10d8

Doom Pool: 7d8 + 2 Steps, 2d10 = 5d8, 4d10

Hercules lands explosively in the middle of the sea of Hydra minions. Seismic ripples issue forth, rattling anything that isn't nailed down.  A few of the soldiers are knocked off their feet but such is the compression of all the bodies in this area that they recover.  If some of the agents are knocked out from Hercules's attack, they are quickly replaced by more from the myriad of bodies around them and the continue to surge forth, now within striking distance of the Greek god.

Re: The Amazing Avengers #1: "...By the Dawn's Evil Glare"

"What's that 'quick scraping sound,' you ask?"  Then the Taskmaster's head rolls back and issues forth a fresh stream of maniacal laughter, this now coming from a deeper place, like he's convinced that what he's laughing at is actually humorous.  As Iron Man repositions himself for his next action with his back momentarily to his compatriots, Capt. Marvel gets a look at the source of Taskmaster's ridicule: a jagged stripe of silver going the length of Iron Man's back, from his neck to down his thigh as it tapers off, the paint of his armor taken off by Taskmaster's sword during the attack.  It's only cosmetic, no deeper damage to the armor, but embarrassing Iron Man was the villain's goal, and judging from his laughter, he has succeeded.  "Bring it, Trash Can! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !"

The Avenger now in their midst, the crowd of soldiers moves in, stretching with their truncheons and bludgeoning with them, arcs of energy cracking above their heads, blows being dealt to the hero. Still they chant, aided by their brothers, who await on the outside of the crowd, too many to attack the god all at once, their voices rhythmic and loud , approaching a certain rhythm: "HAIL HYDRA.  HAIL HYDRA.  HAIL HYDRA."

More Soldiers in the Army addition:

Re: The Amazing Avengers #1: "...By the Dawn's Evil Glare"

Meanwhile, in the offices above: The open doorway leads into what could only be described as a manic laboratory.  Scientific devices and video displays fill the expansive room, equipment beyond even the Panther's advanced comprehension. Monitors fill the walls to the ceiling, with mechanical tendrils branching everywhere, to keyboards to smaller monitors to containers of liquid to beakers, into the walls and through the ceiling, and all of it back again and crossing over each other this way and that in a seemingly-chaotic mess.  All the screens seem to be turned to their full brightness, all of them flashing hysterically with blocks of letters and numbers and computer code and read-outs, in numerous languages, all appearing for instants before switching to the next then the next. Many of the screens hold status displays of boxes and red bars, many of them almost full. The place is lit only by the strobing lights coming from the LEDs of the monitors and the green glow from the tubes on the other side of the room. There is a strong, musty scent of ozone and the taste of copper, almost as overwhelming as the visual overstimulation from this room -- a sensory overload on all counts.

On one side of the room are four large tubes, each of them filled with a murky, slow-churning liquid and thick bubbles rising to the top.  Moving through the bubbles in each is a body, slowly revealing itself as human.  Each are nude, covered only by a complicated device clamping around their mid-sections.  When they see someone enter the room, each of them, in unison, move closer to the front of the glass, pressing their palms against it and drawing their faces nearer, all in the slowest of motions.  Their faces are handsome and distantly familiar, their expressions changing simultaneously, from the blank stare before anyone else was there, to, upon seeing someone enter, surprise, then joy, then terror, then finally to a wanting, sorrowful desperation, their mouths, filled with the liquid, open wide but not moving to mouth a word.

There is also a man, similarly unclothed but a decidedly different person as the ones in the tubes, who is attached to a very complex apparatus that takes up the rest of the room and itself connected to more monitors.  He is laying spread-eagle with his wrists and ankles bound, his body jerking as spasms seem to rock through him, eyes shut tight, the expression on his face going from high annoyance to great pain and back again.  There are concentric circles emanating from his body, dissipating as they move away from him.  If this is energy he's giving off, it's coming out in streams and is powerful, if the opaqueness of the circles is any indication.  The apparatus seems to light up whenever a surge of circles comes from him, with the monitors flashing and beeping.

Yet, it is all oddly silently, the only sounds being the strains of all the machines working at the same time, no louder than a personal computer, and the footsteps of a man on the far side of the room scurrying in front of the biggest block of monitors in the room. On one bank of screens appears to be the views of multiple cameras, showing the outside of the warehouse from various angles, the area of which the heroes are familiar.  The man's body is misshapen, a hunchback, his silhouette, seen in the near-dark, seems to have a small box atop his shoulders instead of a head.  Upon hearing the voice of someone entering the room, the man whips around, fully facing the heroes, though that face is grotesquely large and sits in the center of his chest.  Enter: the brilliant but nefarious Arnim Zola!  He points an oversized hand at the Sentry and points.  His voice, like his cry heard just a moment ago, a low and gravelly sound, barks, "You!"  In the dark place he seems focused on the light-bearing hero and does not look to notice the Panther in the shadows.

Adding ADVANCED BIOCHEMICAL LABORATORY distinction, -d8 to Doom Pool

Note to players: Both groups are separate at the moment, divided in different locations in the warehouse.  If there is a noise loud enough, like the Hydra soldiers chanting, the other group can hear, but each group does not know what is going on with the other and are not able to cross over to participate in the other group's situation.  We can have actions happening at the same time since members of each group are acting separately.  Please choose someone in your group for the next action.

Still operating on muscle-memory, Tony executes a series of rolls and banks, now traveling towards the men firing at him. Supposing that Capt. Marvel is affecting the catwalk nearer to the Hydra Rifle Soldiers B group.

Capt. Marvel uses her not-inconsiderable strength to tear the catwalk from the wall but it quickly disintegrates into an unwieldy mess that was already barely usable as a platform, much less a weapon. Iron Man shudders, if just for an instant. Everything else out of Taskmaster's mouth is immature nonsense but that one hurt. When the weapons designs Stark made his fortune on got out to the black market, there was a lot of rogue technology created that did a lot of damage, including a number of fatalities. Long ago Stark swore to make no more weapons but he'd already let the genie out of the bottle and it wasn't going back in. Taskmaster could be bluffing but it doesn't matter -- if Hydra doesn't have his technology designs already, they could acquire them easily enough. But that jerk is saying that just to jar him. Tony Stark -- Iron Man -- is better than that... isn't he?

Standing within this "rave" room, the Sentry analyzes the room through his sexy aviators, determining how easily he could destroy the room, yet calculating the potential damage caused from the reactions or combustions of chemicals within the room. Peering over at the morbid life tubes, Sentry's smirk falls, replaced with a bummed-out grimace. Standing, chest puffed and hands folded, Sentry cocks his head, looking directly into Arnim's screen face. "You know," he starts to say, "two's a party-" as he suddenly twirls his body, shifting his weight to rest on his left knee, spinning in a circle with his arms taut during the swing, "But six is a crowd," he says, as he releases four energy bursts from his toned forearms, hoping to erupt the life tubes, to release the four organisms from within.

Black Panther's claws meet their mark and the device replacing Zola's head is severed, swinging back and forth as it hangs from a lone wire. Zola flails about, shrieking -- "Fools! Fools!", the sound of his voice increasingly becoming more like static. His hand strikes a button on the console in front of him and immediately a series of intrusive lights around the tubes flashes red and a klaxon emits a sound that can mean only one thing: serious danger.
