Rush Combat Action

As we discussed yesterday, Rush is indeed Short-to-Close Range only, and it is for making sure you can get your attack off against the ranged attacker.  It is contested so that the attacker has some chance to escape and to keep the fight going.

At farther ranges, you can use your Combat action to move, allowing a character not directly engaged in hand-to-hand combat to move up to two Range bands in a round.  I will double check that, though, in case I am mistaken, though I can't think of a good reason why that wouldn't be allowed.

Rush Combat Action

Ahhhh, combat action move would make sense, and smooth the issue with long-range combat. This is the sprint I was thinking about; I wonder if this kind of "double move" (sprint) would impose a Defense penalty to be offset by stunting.

Rush Combat Action

I honestly don't believe it imposes any penalties at all.  The real penalty of being at range against a ranged attacker is that they can still attack you while the reverse might not be true.

Against a determined opponent and barring Charms and terrain and stuff, an archer is likely to only get a couple of rounds at most to attack freely before having to deal with Rushing and Disengaging.

Last I heard was no, and that we would be resuming the Wednesday after Christmas (and that I would be running).

12/30 Session

Word of warning: I'll be ready to play tomorrow night, but I might be at McD's. Or home. Or both or neither.

My mother is working tomorrow. She gets home at around 5:30-6:00, or at least expects to. I have more I can think about for my character, or I can play some Diablo II / Dark Souls... so I have options. I'll probably be home, but if weather permits and I get the conniption to, I might venture over to McD's. (If anyone regularly passes by the Hancock Village McD's around noon or 5PM or 10-11PM, those would be useful tidbits to know. Not to be a burden, I'd rather be able to cover gas and such if I were going to work out that sort of thing.)

Sooo... complications. Doesn't really matter, in the end.

By the way - I'm probably going to start playing more Planetside 2 soon. If anyone plays that... well. There'd be a friendly face on the endless battlefields.

See you all tomorrow! Blood Apes and ancient lore. Maybe I should read a bit into them, so I'm not completely in the dark about these low-tier murder demons.

Looks like we'll be down two people.

I will still plan on running tomorrow, though.

Pheeeew. Wild post right there! And very, very long, I'm sure... I tried not to reflect on it too much, staying in character. ;)

I hope to dickens Steelthorn is a girl. I'm pretty sure that's a thing. So many pronoun references. I'm going on assumptions here.

Strollas - I'll be at McD's this evening. I think.

I think I'm going to pick up my first Evocation before this session, so... let me go PM Brian about that.

2/10 Session

In reply to Qin'ai da Wangzi (msg # 55):

So, on the bright side, I'm going to get off the Wednesday after this one (2/17).

The bad news is that I'm in the middle of a sixteen day week with no days off, so I'll probably be braindead when that day comes.

That's probably a wise thing to do.

If you want, I can also plan on running the 2/17 session, since it sounds like there's a good chance you won't be up to running a game.

2/10 Session

Since you last joined us...

~We had already finished up the fiasco in Stem. Their (potentially rebellious) Dragon-Blooded matriarch directed us to shake up the nobility in Root.
~We made our way towards Root, stopping by a certain tribe along the way.
~We learned of some ruins in the area of that tribe, and discovered them to be a city-manse of our past incarnations. We were apparently a Circle in the First Age. Here we also saw a man in a strange crystalline armor, hovering and spying on us at a mile's distance, before winking out of sight.
~There is a library in the ruins guarded by Blood Apes stationed for the last 2000 years to defend said library... stationed by my past incarnation. We plan to revisit and prove ourselves to them, when more than 3 people are present to play.
~We finished making way to Root.

~[We've done a lot of stuff in Root that, if missed entirely, won't affect you!]

~Apparently the demons here are aware of some strange cosmology stuff. Or that one was insane. But, some facts seem to be lining up, so we may indeed be on the verge of a millennial visit for Tribute to some higher power. Spooky metaplot portents, for adventurous Solar Exalts who have to make sure reality is juuuuust right. Picky bastards.

Our next session will probably entail wrapping up another day in Root... installing our agents into the palace, saving a slave's family-at-ransom, building more contacts/support, and overall fomenting insurrection. One of these sessions will powder keg... we aren't there yet.

Yep, pretty standard stuff for the Exalted. *evil grin*

Btw - I am beginning to write up the conversion rules for Immortalis.  Aside from Willpower and Initiative, the main limiter on an Immortal is going to be stress (or, in system terms, Stress).  Too much over-exertion can hurt an Immortal to the point where they can take a long (and potentially really, really long) time to recover, with the possibility of inflicting Flaws and other fun stuff.

Things like Ghost-Eating Technique will probably inflict Stress on an Immortal, though this is not set in stone yet.
