The Immaculate Railway Network

This network of railroad tracks used to span nearly all of Creation, connecting almost every major city-state and many minor ones.  While there were connections between some of the islands of the West, the Immaculate Railway ran primarily in the North, East and South.

Nowadays, it is but a shadow of its former glory.  While the Realm and Lookshy both try to keep it functioning, vast sections have fallen into disuse over the centuries since the Usurpation.  Most of the Hundred Kingdoms cannot afford to properly maintain their tracks, much less the engines that used to run them.  It is known that the Mask of Winters is rebuilding the network to connect all of the kingdoms which pay him fealty.
___

The engines of the Railway are great metal constructs that can drag along hundreds or thousands of tons of people and cargo.  The Guild controls most of them, though a handful remain in control of certain kingdoms and nations.  Few people can afford to travel by engine.  The Realm and Lookshy both use engines - either their own, or contracted by the Guild - to transport troops when needed, whether it is an uprising, a war, or to speed a Wyld Hunt along to its divine mission.

Most places that have functioning tracks rely on teams of horses or other beasts of burden to pull carts along.

Vector, the Clockwork City

Vector is the central hub of an alliance of city-states approximately four hundred and fifty miles to the East of Thorns.  It is ruled by Crimson Falcon, an engineer-soldier Chosen by the Unconquered Sun.  The city and its people are defended by Crimson Falcon's brother, Gleaming Tiger Eye, a martial artist Chosen by the Sun for his skill and tenacity.  The brothers are also friends with a scavenger lord known as Many Regrets, a treasure hunter and thief extraordinaire.  Rumors say that Many Regrets is also one of the Sun's Chosen, but this has not been verified.

Vector is one of the best places in the Scavenger Lands to hire engineers or to purchase clockwork artifice.

The Temple of the Shrouded Sun

This temple complex is located in the foothills of the mountains just West of the territories of Ma-Ha-Suchi.  It is a haven for all those seeking martial enlightenment or a fresh start, and the monks are known to welcome all, be they felon, Immaculate Monk, Raksha, or even Anathema.  The monks of the temple worship a forbidden goddess known as the Shadowweaver.  A small town has taken root down-slope from the temple, as some seek the protection of the monks, and others seek profit in providing the temple its needs.  The cardinal rule of the temple is that no one may harm another within its grounds, and the Shadowweaver has forcefully expelled many students over the years, as have her most skilled monks.

Rumors suggest that Risa, one of the temple's youngest and most skilled monks, is actually the Godblooded daughter of the Shadowweaver and Ma-Ha-Suchi.  It is also known that the Immaculate Order has wished to see the Temple destroyed ever since word spread that Anathema would be welcomed.

Greenhaven and Stem

Greenhaven is a large community to the East of Jiara and South of Thorns.  It consists of a large number of farming and logging villages, and is ruled out of a walled city known as Stem.  This area is a Satrapy under House Mnemon, and has been ruled as this way for generations.  The people of Greenhaven are peaceful, and rarely take to arms, though lately a canny Guild Factor has been assisting the town in arming itself for fear of Mask of Winters.  The area is also known for having a fair amount of God-Blooded men and women, who tend to be well-respected in their local communities.

Every year at harvest-time, Greenhaven holds a massive festival held at Stem which draws in people from both the nearby villages and even travelers from afar.  They come to honor the area's main deities:  Lacror the Reaper, Daimyo of the Harvest; and Venali, Lady of the Bounteous Spring.  Many visit during the festival to make offerings to the god and goddess, and it is a rite of passage for young men and women to make offerings to Venali at her Wellspring Temple.  Occasionally, the goddess even takes such offerings personally if an individual catches her eye.  Lacror prefers a sacrifice, often of an ox or cow, rather than specific prayers and rituals.  The Immaculate Order oversees the festival, and makes sure all deities receive the appropriate worship.

The Satrap, Mnemon Azana, was well-liked up until the last few years.  As she has raised taxes both last year and the year prior, the people of Greenhaven are getting near their limit, and are fearful that too much might be taken from them.  There is growing unrest in the area, though there has been no violence as of yet.

Friends, Family and Foes of Qin'ai

Mei'ren name means no one
Defining principals- Return the glory that was the first age.
                   - Unite the Savage Lands into a single kingdom.

Description- Mei'ren is a traveling herbalist- apothecary -physician who practices herbal medicine. He is also a powerful Sorcerer although only a handful of people actually know this. Qin'ai's mother is one of the few that know of this. When she was in labor with  Qin'ai  the old herb man had to use powerful Sorcery to save both mother and child.

Mei'ren physical appearance is that of an thin old man. His face is lined with age but the wrinkles around his eyes show that he smiled frequently. His long flowing hair is as white as a cloud on a summer day. His hands are wrinkled and spotted and although his back is bent he moves with the speed and grace of a man in his prime.

There is something about his deep brown eyes that pierce your very soul finding all the secrets that you even hide from yourself. His smile on the other hand is friendly like a beloved grandfather.

There are many rumors about Mei'ren for he was traveled wide and seems to be accepted every where, from the dirtiest Barbarian hovel to the grand palaces of the Blessed Isle. It been laughing said that he is older then dirt and has been around since the First Age

Spoiler text: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)
He is actually a god, Minister of Eastern Monarchies and Royal Succession. He believes that Heaven has been disregarding their duties. He believes he is the person to rectify their lapse. He seeks a circle of powerful Exalted to fix the situation. He has read the web of Fate and the fabric claims that a circle of exalted may succeed. Maybe the pattern hint there is even a chance that say they will unite all the savage lands into single kingdom. A kingdom divided into a section of smaller Kingdoms each ruled by their own monarch who owes fealty to a high king. The entire region would be ruled by a council of Exalted [the pc's] under the banner of a High King.

Qin'ai will meet Mei'ren several times in his life.
As an old traveling herbalist that his mother retains to teach the boy reading and writing.

To fulfill his goal Mei'ren know that he needs someone extremely powerful.  So he starts searching for the right person to do this but the search is a failure. Then one day a chance remark makes Mei'ren realize that what he is looking for is not one champion but a group. Also the best way to make sure they fit the requirements is to guide them down the path they need to go. So he secretly seeks out the individuals that would form his circle and secretly nudges fate to guide them in the path that will lead them to form the circle he needs.

The Satrapy of Root

Root is a Satrapy run by House Cynis, located South of Stem, where the trade routes between the deserts of the South the forests of the East converge.  The few routes that lead to the Dreaming Sea not controlled by Ma-Ha-Suchi also are located here.

Satrap Cynis Nukoze rules this area, nearly two hundred and fifty square miles, with an iron fist.  Uprising are put down with malicious glee, and peasants who cannot afford their taxes are sold off to the Guild.  Even by the standards of most Realm Satrapies, the rulers of Root live decadently.  Every week, the Satrap's arena is offered the blood of the criminal and desperate.

Some are saying the Nukoze has also been selling peasants to Thorns directly, and it is also said that he has dealing directly with Ma-Ha-Suchi.

Nukoze's lieutenants include Cynis Izholi, an Air Aspected assassin known for her brute-force approach and twin Goremauls, Thunder and Lightning; Cynis Jansei, a Water Aspected master of Single Point Shining in the Void Style; Stone Lion, an Earth Aspected warrior of incredible might; and Dog of the Dawn, the chief torturer and master of the games, Chosen of Cytherek, Harvester of Blood and Sand and God of the Arena of Root.
