Re: Inside The Blue Warehouse
When Etzagith heard Robert claim that Queen Jia had entrusted the twins to his care, he stared at the man in disbelief. That isn't possible. Why would Stefan have pulled us into this whole intrigue? The note I got that brought me here was from Jia, I'm sure of it; it had our own code. And yet, he thinks he's telling the truth. Clearly he's been deceived. He spoke to the man, "I appreciate all you've done for the queen, but I am going to see these boys returned to their rightful place. Something is not right, here."
Etz looked at the man Cara referred to as "bound investigator." He had said that he wanted to return the twins to their mother. Keeping good hold on both boys, he continued to move towards the man, counting on Cara to guard their backs. Etz nodded to Cara, adding, "I'm staying with the twins. I agree that all these people need to be brought to their homes, but my duty is to the Queen, first." It pained the rogue to leave Cara in charge of people who might be escaped slaves, but it did not seem as if she was looking to pull them back into slavery.
The rogue looked down at the odd bracelets that all the cultists wear. Looking at Cara, he asked, "Do you think there's some ritual bound into these bracelets keeping them all docile? There's still something fishy going on, here."
Still concerned about what could happen if these cultists are turned violent, Etz kept a tight hold on the boys and walked them through the warehouse towards the office. He did not avoid the two new strangers who seemed to be aiding, but he wasn't going to hand the boys over to them, either.
