Pearson Close is the heart of the Territory.  Twelve houses, with their attendant gardens, located on the edge of a small town.  The town is a short distance from The City.

Pearson Close is regarded by the local cats as "group" territory.

Though they will occasionally wander into other nearby areas, which some of the cats also regard as their territory, Pearson Close is "home" to the local group.

Houses 1, 7 and 10 are larger than other houses on Pearson Close, and have each been divided into two apartments.

The occupants of "the Close", as it is known, are:

1. Karl and Linda Jackson, with their three children Susan, Anna, and Bobby.  Own a small, yappy dog called Bella.
   
   Nial and Cassandra Hedges live here too.  They have no children.  A number of cats report that they have seen Cassandra helping out at the vet's clinic sometimes, so there can be some doubt as to her trustworthiness.
   
   
2. Frannie and Milton Jones, an elderly couple.  Milk-Whiskers.
   
   
3. Carter Norris.  Lives here alone.  The house and garden are in poor repair, though the fence enclosing the latter is well-kept.  All of the cats have heard their owners, from time to time, expressing a certain amount of dislike for Norris.  Norris owns two large dogs named Orville and Wilbur.
   
   
4. Dolores "Lola" Torres.  Tickles.
   
   
5. Will and Nancy Liebenthal, and teenage daughter Nancy.  Bones.
   
   
6. James Pendergast and Daphne Roth.  No children, though Daphne is pregnant.
   
   
7. Upper apartment: Karl and Zobella, with their son Temm (almost a teenager).  Zobella has a teenage son, Eraclio, and a daughter, Channa, who is in her twenties and visits over the summer.  P-P
   
   Lower apartment: David Gittings, and his twins Colin and Carol (aged 10).  David's wife, Simone, died three years ago.  Cats who were living in the area at the time believe that Boggins were involved, and have told newcomers this.
   
   
8. Tony and Patricia "Pat" Morgan, plus Pat's mother, Agnes Grimmond, who sometimes serves as a nanny for the Morgan's two children, Peter and Dorothy.
   
   
9. Raymond and Callie Davidson.  Two children, a boy called Kevin and a girl who seems to be called Effie, but is mostly referred to as "Piglet" by her older brother.
   
   
10. Upper Apartment: Harold Joshua, and his wife Rosa.  They will happily tell anybody who will listen, including passing cats who stand still long enough, that their children have moved to The City, where they are "very successful in Real Estate".  Whatever that means...
    
    Lower Apartment: Conrad and Esme Carlson live here with their daughter, Alison, who is almost an adult, at least in her own eyes (15).  Mephistopheles.
    
    
11. Robert "Bob" Wilson, his wife Sylvia, and their children, Samantha(13) and Robert "Bobby" Jr. (7).  Sunny
    
    
12. Miriam Caldwell.  Miss Cuddles.

Mister Pig doesn't live on the Close itself, but on a farm which adjoins the Close to the west.  He is a sort of honorary member of the community.
