Re: Getting Aboard

Headed out for another week of business travel, back home for a day and a half and then on the road another week. Hopefully I will have reliable internet connection this time. If not, you will know why I drop off for a bit. Thanks!

Re: Getting Aboard

Well Sonny Boy was well enough to go back to school so drove another seven hours to get him back there Thursday.  Friday morning I woke up feeling like crud but thankfully it was a very mild bout.  I'm still a little sniffly but all in all it could have been much worse.  Glad you're feeling better Grim and stay safe DM!

I hope everybody gets better soon.  Being sick isn't fun.  I am relatively healthy but sprained my wrist.

We’re all sick at my house, too.  Some crud that makes for sore throat, coughing, fuzzy headed ness, and low grade fever.  Want Spring to arrive already!

Re: Getting Aboard

Back home for a day and a half and then on the road again until next Friday. Not sure how my internet connection will be at my next stop, so we'll see how that goes.

At any rate, will update the game thread before I get on the plane :)

Thanks!

Re: Getting Aboard

Just got back home from proctoring exams all day.  Got the call at 730 to be there by 8.  Of course we had 1/8" thick ice on the car to get through first.  It's been a long day.

Re: Getting Aboard

Turns out the internet connection was pretty much non-existent. The hotel supposedly had wifi connection but I was never able to connect for more than a few minutes before it timed out. I eventually gave up, which is why I went comm silent the last week.

All this to say, it's good to be back home!

I will be back through this coming Thursday, then I am going "camping" with the family next weekend...and by camping I mean, staying at a fully stocked lake house with all the bells and whistles. Roughing it! :)

At any rate, I will work up a post this weekend to get our game moving again. Thanks!

Oooooo, that does sound like a good time.  Enjoy your time with your family!  My younger son had his spring break last week and wore me out ... and hogged my laptop.  Man the nearly all day long nap yesterday was awesome!  *dashes off to read and reply in game now*

Re: Getting Aboard

Sorry. Last week was crazy with me trying to tie up loose eneds at work so I could take two weeks of vacation time...essentially working ahead, and I never had a chance to update the game before we hit the road for 4 days on the lake.

Had a great time at Devil's Fork State Park in upstate South Carolina. Beautiful area of the country. Our  cabin had wifi, but it was very weak and I pretty much spent the long weekend disconnected from everything but my family. Much needed break for sure!

:)

At any rate, I am back now and will post later today.

Thanks for your patience!

What would Dal roll to see if we destroy the pesky goblins hidey hole....or collapse the stones above them..things like that.  :)

Re: Getting Aboard

The goblins are hiding behind a rock wall, about 4 feet high, extending off the side of the mountain. You could attempt to target rocks higher up the mountain, perhaps dislodging them. There's also a decent amount of snow and ice piled up on the mountain, so it might be possible to trigger a landslide/avalanche...though doing either of these actions might be risky, as you are downhill of the goblins!

Re: Getting Aboard

Shane,

I get it that the Goblins are behind total cover at this point.

But if Arnan were to ready an action to shoot an arrow at the Goblins when they start popping up to shoot another volley of arrows (I'm thinking in terms of "covering fire", hoping that at least some of the Goblins will decide to keep their heads down instead of raining arrows down on the advancing adventurers if Arnan can hit the first one who pops up, or at least come close to hitting him), what degree of cover would they have?

Thanks.

Probably 1/2 cover when they pop up to fire their short bows.

Re: Getting Aboard

Admittedly, my Dwarven is a little rusty. What's a "todger?"

Given the context of Morgrim's comments, I'm assuming that it is uncomplimentary.  :)

Interesting! It appears that it can be either complimentary or uncomplimentary, depending upon the context. :)

It is too windy now to use that spell.

Re: Getting Aboard

What would the minus' be to try and hit them without looking at them?  I'm not within range yet but when I do get within range I was thinking of doing spiritual weapon.  I have to do a melee spell attack but  can I still do it without seeing them.  It should cause them, I would think, to panic a bit and perhaps pop up for others to try and hit.

It's not a Concentration spell and does not state in the description that you have to be able to actually see an opponent, so I think it would just be a normal attack. Basically, the equivalent of turning a dog loose and saying "sic 'em!"

Also, sacred flame ignores cover if you have it. Can't remember :)

In reply to Morgrim Ironhammer (msg # 975):

Yes, On Sacred Flame the target gains no benefit from cover for their saving throw.  However it says "flame-like radiance descends on a creature that you can see within range."  so I guess you keep sacred flame handy (since it is a cantrip) for when they pop up.  :)
