Chapter 1: Dim Lights
Each knew the sun had set some time before the party's end and the moon and few stars in the sky glowed dim in the Old Town where sorcerous enchantments kept the city at a low glow, reflecting sunlight collected all during the day. It was a beautiful shimmering crystaline light, prisming across the Northern part of the city. As the newly revealed Solars walked towards the towering building they'd left, they arrived nearly as soon as Lirin and Sash exited with their own information.

A group of five with a single goal and many approaches. Hungry citizens, an aging ruler unsure what to do, a missing shipment, a goddesses' suggestion, a nobleman's help. What will the heroes who have taken this on do?

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
"I know many of you don't like me," Yin said. "I messed up before and I'm sorry. But I think, since we're going to be working together on this, that we should at least introduce ourselves properly. I want to tell you where I come from, so you understand why I came off as a bit clueless."

She rubbed the back of her head, a bit nervously.

"My name is Zhu Yin and I was raised in a temple. I never saw the outside world until very recently. I've heard some stories, but I'm not familiar with other cultures. All I know are the rites to the Maidens and the power concealed in the stars."

She looked up at the stars and her eyes glimmered with sorrow.

"My home was struck by a calamity. It was located at the top of a mountain. One day, the world shook and the mountain split in two. My home plummeted and the people with it. I was the only one who survived, and I survived because that was the only time where I had deliberately escaped from my duties as a monk and tried to walk my own way. I ignored fate, and fate brought destruction to my home. All because of me."

"The Sun saw me though. He gave me new direction. He told me to go out into the world and to try to make it a better place. He also gave me the power to absorb the feelings of the deceased. So that's what I did. I absorbed the feelings of my people. The loves and fears, as well as the feelings at the moments of their death ... it all exists within me now. I refused to leave my home before I had found every single body and helped it find rest."

She placed her palm over her heart.

"It hurts a lot to bear all that pain. But it's also a beautiful thing---a treasure. I want to do good. I want to help make things right. But I also want to make sure that it is the right thing to do. For that, I ask that you help me make the right choices and that you tell me where I do wrong. I'm sorry for rambling."

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
Ixie had set her crossbow at her side, and was listening to Yin's story as she got her things ready to go. As Yin started talking about the disaster, however, she frowned, and faced her, hand resting on her hip. "Hey.  I never said I didn't like you, Zuzu. Sure, you made a mistake, but I make plenty." She frowned slightly, folding her arms over her chest for a moment, then stepping up to Yin. Then she gave her a hug, with arms and wings, both. "You just made a mistake. And it wasn't even all that bad. It could've been worse~!" She gave an awkward little laugh.

At that, Ixie hopped back. "I think we should probably hear from Sashy and Lirin first, if we're going to go looking for the missing shipment. Hopefully they'll have a direction we can go off of? Rose, were you gonna stick around and work with the Dhelzan to get that silo idea off the ground and start reaching out to the people, try and calm some fears?"

Ixie rocked back and forth on her heels, her wings stretched out a bit, with the streets so quiet now.

"Was gonna help you find that shipment. Not good at talking to people."

The Twilight studied Yin. "Never said I didn't like you. Just said you should talk less and listen more. Never hurts and could help."

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
Sash found himself with quite some empathy towards Zhu Yin, listening to her story with interest. However, she had messed up quite horribly when speaking to the crowd, and overall, had done more harm than good. It was hard for him to get along with someone who didn't know their way with words.

"Well, we have a few clues to go off of. But the question is are we all going, or are we splitting up? This is... quite a large party."

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
Ixie pointedly smiled at Sash, and stepped over to him. "That depends~ What'd Triple-Cheese have to say about all this? If we got a direction to search, great. If there's anything else going on, though, it'd be helpful to know. I think we've gotta split up a bit. Someone's got to help the Delzhan guy get his donations out there to try and help alleviate some of the strain. Can't be me, though, they'd just accuse me of conjuring it up out of a dream or something." She rolled her eyes slightly.

"I wish..."

"I'll build the silo but I'm crap at talking to people," Rose repeated. "Leave me someone who can talk."

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
Silken Sash pursed his lips slightly, giving a slight shake of his head. "Well, here's what I know. The Tri Khan stated that a late shipment alone usually isn't enough to cause a riot. This has happened in the past. So it's likely that someone is specifically instigating this riot in particular." Whispering to Ixie, he smiled. "The Tri-Khan is quite interesting. I've never encountered a man who was so difficult to read."

He turned to Rose. "If you need someone with a way with words, please allow me to accompany you."

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
"Huh..." Ixie started. "Well, that means somebody has something to gain by causing trouble." She paused for a moment. "hmmm... Might be someone who wants to look like a hero, might be someone who wants to cause trouble. Hard to say. Either way, Sashy, you and Rose can handle looking for the ones behind the riots, right?" She paused, and looked over at Lirin and Yin. "Yin, you can come with me, okay?" she said with a gentle tone, clearly still a bit concerned about how upset Yin had been. She then peeked over at Lirin. "Umm... you're kind of good at both points, though, so, it's up to you. Think you wanna help investigate the instigator, or come help us look for the shipment?"

"I'll try to keep up," she said with a smile.

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
The circle had found little in terms of information so far and while it was late at night, they knew that the riots had been too quick and too spontaneous. Few people would have been starving in the streets in a matter of days, so what had these seen tonight? Either the Tri-Khan was lying or there was someone behind this. And all signs pointed to the latter.

Lirin spoke first, "I think we should focus our efforts on finding who's behind this at the moment." He had a job to do, even if the others held little obligation. "We should head to the New City. It's a big area, but we might be able to find some kind of lead. I'll head East...Ixie, you know I work best on my own anyway. You four try the Southern part of the city. It's the poorest part...don't go starting anything worse than we're dealing with already," he said, his eyes going to Zhu Yin unconsciously.

Searching in the poor districts would also give them an opportunity to provide help in the time of need.

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
Ixie's expression shifted a little, and she folded her arms. "Okay, Liri, just don't get in over your head. I'm not gonna be hovering by to save you if you're on the other side of town." She gave a little laugh. At that, she reached out and grabbed Yin and Sash by the wrists lightly. "C'mon, let's get moving and see what we can find~!"

Rose, apparently, only escaped her grasp because she lacked a third arm.

Rose followed the others with her hammer resting across her shoulders. She was hard to miss, being tall as a man and muscle on muscle.

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
The Tri-Khan's home was in the oldest part of town - glass towers glowed dimly above. Some were half-collapsed. Some were still mostly intact. Others were dilapidated. No matter which tower they passed, wind whistled through the tall buildings that could be found no where else in the world.

As the buildings began to shrink in size, the newer parts of town came into view - buildings built from the same glass but held together by adobe and clay - creating bizarre and beautiful homes for many of the residents of town. However, these modest structures came to an end fairly quickly and it was obvious when the poorest parts of town were near - no longer was the town a collection of motley houses - now class structures propped up enormous tarp-like tents that dozens slept underneath. Bare protection from the sky held dozens of sleeping men, women, and children. Occasionally tents like these were broken up by more stable buildings or smaller tents, but largely the poorest districts looked like refugee camps and shanty towns - the massive influx and outflux of people encouraging only a temporary home for some or just the simplest and cheapest living possible for others.

Chapter 1: Dim Lights
As a resident of the city, Ixie had seen these poor shelters before, but she never did quite get over feeling for the people who had to live in them. A small frown crossed her face as she walked with the others. She'd lost a lot of her energetic pep when they'd made their approach to the more somber, struggling scene. She looked over things with a long, sad glance, before speaking... "So... Honestly, doesn't seem like anyone here is too worked up over anything right now..." She said. The depressive mood filtered with mostly seeing people spread out asleep beneath the tent structures left her with few immediate options. Surely there were some people milling about too, though.

"If Lirin's right and someone was inciting all this, someone should know who they are, right? maybe we could find someone from the protest earlier, I know we spoke directly to a few." She said, turning her gaze to Yin. She'd actually met one of them, of course. "I don't suppose the one you met mentioned where to find her?"
