Re: OOC Thread #2
Sleight could probably just Trid-Phantasm the whole thing, with imaginary runner's faces and voices. Just have Gonzo put up the camera and record the illusion. If he can post it anonymously(TM) and monetize it as instructional or as entertainment we could actually make some credits off the runs....given the Johnson's will agree to that kind of thing. I don't think the Johnson's will want their runs reproduced....as it could lead back to them and their company....which will get us all killed.

Filming illusionary shows?
I suspect that’s already a major endeavour by many corps.

I often ask my SR players:  why does your character run?   Hacker, magician, rigger, muscle ... most any Corp would provide a Corp SIN and worthy wage for most any character in this game.

If Gonzo wanted to use a mage with Trid Illusion to make instructional or educational shows, he could do so very viably without doing it illigally.

Some people just don't like to be told what to do.  I suspect most shadowrunners are it it for the freedom more than anything else.

Re: OOC Thread #2
In the real world, do you think most criminals ‘are in it for the freedom more than anything else’?

Law enforcement is just as tough as any criminal gang, and criminal gangs usually loose.  So the consequences and effort are rarely worth it.
And if it was as easy to have ‘the freedom’ as that, I suspect a lot more people (real world and fantasy) would be enjoying it than are.

I guess, as always, we chalk it up to this being a fantasy setting, without those consequences ... we just glamourise it.

Wow, no need to get cranky about it.  I never look at my fantasy role-playing game and compare them to "real life".

Re: OOC Thread #2
Hello all, quick question what system did you all use to make your characters? I've seen mention of Sum of and Karma, I used priority when I initially made Chromium but I've made them using other systems in SR4 and there was quiet a difference between the three.

Second, does anyone have a character sheet they normally use?

The GM let each of us chose the system they wanted.

Cool, for sake of speed I'll use the priority system I already used. Just shuffling the last of the Nuyen that I have and get going.

I usually use the text only chummer sheet but I also include notes on what all of my gear does that I don't know right off the top of my head.

Oh and welcome!  What kind of character are you?

LOL, I've had chummer 5 for awhile and couldn't find the text that I could cut and paste...I just found it because you said it exists...that will save even more time! Thanks, Iris.

Elven Street Samurai modeled loosely on Adem Jensen from Deus Ex, in other words twin cyberarms - although mine are chrome in color :D

Just working on spending the last few bits of cash.

I love the fact that they made cyberlimbs useful in this edition!

Yes! Indeed, I love that cyberweapons are almost invisible until you use them...I might have a set up with a cybergun in each arm...possibly.

All right, just got to figure out if I want to have bone density, active hard wiring or some other nifty piece of cyber to compliment what I have already...bone density makes me harder to kill, so that is likely my choice....

I am always a fan of "make them shoot twice".  As in, being hard to kill.  :)

Yeah. A few extra dice for soak can be really helpful. My first tabletop SR5 character was an ork ganger medic whose primary contribution to the team in combat situation was getting shot.

He also once successfully wrestled a forklift.

Big fan of this myself :D

Alright, I've thrown the character sheet into my sheet place for you to check while I type up description, a name and other important things.

I'll put together back story and stuff as needed but figured I'd let you check the details first  :D

EDIT: Also my character has to earn money, fast...like stat! I may have taken In Debt rather heavily....

I am a big fan of not being seen or just not getting hit. Note that doesn't mean my character will be walking around with out armor and a helmet, just a preference cause you never know when an AoE effect is going to go off.

Welcome Chromium, my Elven cousin, even if Sleight is a shaman and from a tribe up in Maine I kinda of think of all Elves as being cousins.

Re: OOC Thread #2
Well, Catchy will be walking around without armor or a helmet. So she is a huge fan of not getting hit in the first place, preferably by not being anywhere near when a gun is fired...

Of course, when she earns some cred this might change. But right now all her belonging fit into a fanny pack...

Re: OOC Thread #2
Well there is a certain amount of armor built into having arms made of metal lol....but an armored vest is normal for Chromium

EDIT: And a helmet might be very useful...let me get that added in ;)

In reply to Catchy (msg # 197):

See, if your character were a troll, that would still be a lot of gear.  Larger fanny, larger fanny pack. xD

Also, Big D, would you prefer a link to a Chummer file or you going to check everything by hand?

In reply to Chromium (msg # 200):

Is there a text option for output from Chummer?  I've never looked into that.  I would like, at some point, for the character sheet to be in RPoL.  Lets me do things while I am on my phone, commuting to work and such.

But for now, if you want, you can link me a pdf of the Chummer file? :)

<- my email if you want to send stuff.

Or if you want to throw it up on one of the file sharing services, that would work too.

My chummer is a little wonky for some reason, and I've been pestering working with the chummer folks on it. :P

Re: OOC Thread #2
Cool, if you trust Chummer's workings then I'll simply convert it to completed it and email the PDF for you?

And yes, when you go print/view you can change it to full text and then cut and paste it although you can't use Ctrl-C for some reason.
