TRAVEL GROUP:
THe tiefling pokes at the fire as he goes back "WHat if you are to die Dream?" He stares into the fire, warming up the group. He glances at Anton "It wasn't reassurance. Maybe a fact."

CHURCH:
There are some arrows and a bow of course though thhey are meant for a small person but they are there. The bear sits in the wagon, watching Ty for a moment and it lies down at the back of the wagon shivering. And the undead outside begin to moan. Eery.

Dreamljocht sighs deeply upon Sam's words: "If and when, my goddess will welcome me, I hope. But in the meantime I'll do all that is in my power to prevent anyone's death from our companionship, Sam." He turns to the fire and sends his prayers to Sarenrae.

"Yeah...I know..." Tyri said to the bear cub.  "I'm not thrilled with this situation either.  Could really use Dream here about now.  I'm sure that he'd love this."  She rifled through the carts contents, pulling out one of the small short bows and arrows.  She frowned at the weapon.  It looked so tiny in her hands, like a childs toy.

Grabbing hold of the quivers, Tyrael ran up to the second floor and slid into position beside one of the upper floor windows.   "...might as well be throwing tooth picks..." she grumbled as she nocked an arrow in the small bow.  Taking a breath, she twisted to the side and fired the arrow into the first undead that she saw.

OOC:
Should I roll 1d4 damage for a small weapon?

Anton looks to Sam, "If it's my time then, so be it!  I just don't to go out freezing my little Halfling butt off out here."

He then looks to Dream, "Thanks Dream.  I'll do my part when called on!"

TRAVEL GROUP:
The rogue watches the strange halfling and sits down. He throws more wood, still wet into it and watches as steam comes from it. "Well your goddess seems to be with you with the whole flying bird thing." He seems edgy, perhaps wanting to pick a fight but he leans against a tree near the fire, adjust his cloak and stares at the monk that keeps moving around. His eyes narrow on him and then the halfling, not really knowing what to make of either of them.

CHURCH:
Twink. The arrow flies towards a undead creature. It looks down at his arm, the arrow sticking out of it and and moans. From this view, the fighter can see its much more dire then she realized. At least ten of them are moaning by the doors and windows, slamming into it. She waits, hoping the others will get here soon but if there is more then this which is very much assumed she's trapped.

"...toothpicks..." Tyrael said sourly.  "...maybe if I was hunting squirrels then this little thing would be useful but...might as well just be flinging toothpicks."

She pulled out two more of the small arrows, nocked and fired them into the same undead in succession.  Maybe if she could hit it with enough toothpicks, there would only be 9 undead to deal with instead of 10.  At least it gave her something to do while she figured out what to do.  She could probably just bolt and run but she had been charged with watching over the groups supplies, so she couldn't just abandon it without a really good reason.  Plus there was the bear cub.  Hailey would hate it if it was left behind.

OOC:
Tyrael Mournstrider rolled 16 to hit for 1 damage
Tyrael Mournstrider rolled 18 to hit for 2 damage

Re: (IC) The Quest Begins!

Dreamljocht sighs when Sam seems to look for a fight over the support of his goddess. "Yes, she helped with the message-bird. But up till now, her help netted no result in our search for Hailie. And the longer we're looking for our missing companion, the bigger the chance we loose another companion, holed up in an old chapel alone. It is a fiendish dilemma, and praying has not helped yet with finding a solution. You can blame me, Sam, or my goddess. No problem, but can you give me a better advise in solving our problems?" Dream leans afainst the stump of a tree and something like despair seems to be visible in his face.

"I am not blaming anyone. You want to leave, then leave. I will find Haile. Those two have no reason to even be out here. They don't know Haile. You have no problems. I do. So leave." The man gets up. wipes the snow off his legs and arms "Go save someone you just met that might not be who she is. Go on, Dream. Companion? Give me a damn good reason why anyone here is a good companion. You got him and he doesn't say a word." He motions towards the quiet Gordo "And all the halfling does is complain. I'm cold. I'm so cold. We're all cold., suck it up." I got nothing against you Dream. He slams his hand into a tree, blood oozing down it. Another hit. And another. He lowers his hands, the blood oozing down to the ground.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Re: (IC) The Quest Begins!

Dreamljocht stands and walks to Sam: he takes both his wounded hands in his, even if Sam is not willing. He looks Sam straight in his eyes: "I'm just as willing as you Sam to find Haile and save her. And I will also look after our newer companions who joined our effort, even when they didn't knew us well or even met Haile before. And I'm almost as frustrated as you are, that we can't find her, but also that we leave Tyrael alone, perhaps in danger as well as Haile."

Dreamljocht tries to pour some of his willpower into the rogue, to show him he is not alone in his quest for Haile. He also channels some positive energy, to heal Sams hands and the companions as well if they have lost some health and perhaps even faith.

"Right. Sure Dream. Let's all trust the new people. Bravo. Good job. Go babysit, they obviously need it." Sam grabs his gear after pulling away from the cleric, and despite the darkness and cold he starts heading towards where the smoke was. Maybe he is just angry or wants to push them. Who knows.

Re: (IC) The Quest Begins!

"It's no good going off in the night, Sam," he says, not even sure if Sam heard him or not. Either way, he's not going after Sam. It's much safer to stay for the night and keep on going first thing in the morning, than to go on a whim after someone like Sam who seems to have no regard for his companions' safety. Gordo is very patient, but with Sam behaving the way he does, Gordo isn't going to go into any more trouble to chase him. These kinds of relationships should be mutual, in Gordo's opinion.

Gordo shoots a worried look at Anton, then at Dream, not just because of the cold, but because sometimes words cut deeper. "Rest now," he says, "I'll take first watch," he says and goes off patrolling, looking around for signs of anything or anyone approaching.

TRAVEL GROUP:
With Sam gone, everything seems to calm down. He has a reason to be upset of course. Soon, the three of them will need to take turns sleeping and resting. With the fire slowly dying and if they stay need the flames they will be okay. Unless someone sees the fire. Naw, never happen.

Right?

The moon lights up the sky above, stars floating around it.

CHURCH:
Two hits, too little damage. The undead slam against the sides of the church. There must be at least 10 below and who knows how many more. One of the undead that was hit looks up and gets to the door trying to climb up it unsuccessfully. Moaning, growling and trying to get inside. The door shifts but remains shut.

When Sam disappears in the dark, Dreamljocht calls after him with a tired sounding voice: "Sam, alone in the dark will do you not much good. We can't even see what you can. You're welcome at the fire whenever you come back."
He sighs and looks into the flames, feeding the fire with some wood. "I'll take first watch. Take your rest and try to get warm. I think there is still some broth. Who shall I wake for second watch?"

"....yeah...just like I expected...." Tyrael said sourly as she looked out the window.  The little bow was not going to do any good here.  Back to step 1 then.

Tyrael ran back to the wagon, searching through the contents to see what else she had to work with.  "...maybe....fire?" she muttered having pulled out a bottle of what looked like oil.  "Okay, just need some wicks and a few more flasks."

With several small bottles of oil with torn strips of cloth stuffed into them, Tyrael made her way back up to the second floor window.  She had grabbed a torch and used the flame to light one of the cloth strips.  "Let's see how you do." she muttered right before she tossed the bottle out of the window at one of the undead.

Gordo turns his head slowly from side to side, trying to catch another glimpse at whatever it was.

Dreamljocht takes first watch as promised. He keeps the fire going and prays for his goddess for guidance in this difficult place and time as he is not sure about the best way to go. His mind says to go back to the chapel to join with Tyrael and find strength in numbers, perhaps returning here  with all companions, but his heart is with Halie and Sam.

Re: (IC) The Quest Begins!

Tyrael watched the fire spread from undead to undead.  That was good.  At least something seemed to be doing some decent damage to these risen annoyances.  Unfortunately, they still seemed to be moving towards the church, bringing that fire with them.  that was not good.  "Dammit Dream.  Why aren't you around when I need you."

Tyrael pulled out another incendiary and threw it down, aiming for the back of the group.
