Re: (OOC) Chat Spot

In reply to Jemimwitt Haethy (msg # 265):

Only thing you got wrong was that Sam drew his bow because Dove was Armed. That said, Dove did take out her crossbow to give the party time to object or approve.

It's amusing because if Dove had a K: Nature check she might not have been so quick on 'we should kill it', albeit she probably would have gotten there eventually. Dire bears are scary as hell when you consider them both attitude and look wise. They sound hyper territorial which means the cub is pretty much just incidental, it would have tried to murder us just for being in 'its road'.

Re: (OOC) Chat Spot

Actually looking at the post he drew after you (and has Quickdraw). So your wrong in that aspect, Dove. He wouldn't have drawn the bow if he felt safe.

Either way, seems like everyone is against Sam yet Dove threatened to burn him but that was overlooked which baffles me. But eh.

Oh god yes Dire Bears look evil but the way it was approache was bad. Dream came around the corner with his scimitar drawn which in its eyes threatend the bear and its cub hence it attacked. The group walked into its terratory. So it defended itself.

Re: (OOC) Chat Spot

As for 'which baffles me'.... your pool is Jem. And Jem called out both of them at first before Sam stormed off. So I'm confused what you mean about her threat being overlooked. Dream hasn't responded to the threats, Dove and Sam are on opposite sides, and Halie is away.

Jem it seemed to me by the way didn't hand-wave her threatening Sam either.

"not threatening to shoot people with a blasted crossbow or spells."

But that's just my perspective. Obviously Dove feels Sam is in the wrong or she wouldn't have threatened him.

Re: (OOC) Chat Spot

Personally I think Jem is defiantly against Sam. Same as Dove. Haile will probably back Sam but have choice words with him but not be against Dove. Dream will probably back Dove.

So really its everyone against Sam even though no one knows Dove. Course no one really knows Sam so its a bit of a conundrum.

It appears I made the entire situation worse for Sam even though he was defending the group in his eyes from Dove but the tide turned against him.

Seems like everyone believes Sam is wrong but he had good intentions but thats null and void.

Can we change the subject?

Sam left. He's somewhere.

Re: (OOC) Chat Spot

I'm going to have to make a Dire Bear cub aren't I? LOL Or a Bear Cub.

Just looked at the damage: Jem hitting it would knock it into the negatives like -9 or -10.

Re: (OOC) Chat Spot

Make perception checks if looking for Sam or in general looking around. Thanks!

So the group is back at where the bear was taken down, and its buried elsehwere. Its starting to get dark. I don't think the group anynone has Darkvision? You can travel for awhile before it gets dark or can camp out. Whatever works!

No ale, but I've plenty of mead :>

Weed is legal in my country, though that's more my partner's thing.

No ale, wine please, or calvados.
Weed is legal in my country too, but I never tried it. Often smelled the distinct aroma.

Re: (OOC) Chat Spot

Yeah, it's hard to miss. Even when it was illegal that smell was everywhere where I grew up.

Between the edibles, vape and drinkable weed sodas and teas you can get from the local government weed store, I actually smell weed a lot less now, weirdly.

Calvados sounds really interesting. I'll have to try a bottle sometime.

Mead is worth trying some time if you have the opportunity.

*finding the posts to be ironic*

Anywho.

Thinking middle ages, Mead and Ale are the most available. Wine depending on the locations.

Calvados?

I tried Peanut Butter Ale (Think that's right? Maybe whiskey) It was pretty good.

Re: (OOC) Chat Spot

Calvados is French (Normandy), made from apple cider. Comes close to some cognac. I learned it to drink visiting the D-Day beaches with my parents in 1975, i think.

Re: (OOC) Chat Spot

These days, craft brewers put EVERYTHING into beers. Peanut butter pairs nicely with the strong malt tastes of dark ales, porters and stout. I've had a few nice radlers (beer and juice, usually grapefruit or lemon) this summer.

Love me a good cognac, though I don't drink it very often. My family and my wife's family is Scottish, so whiskey is more traditional on special ocasions.

The great thing about mead is that it's fairly hard to screw up since honey is lightly antimicrobial. I'll bet mead's been "discovered" thousands of times throughout history when someone left a barrel of honey out and it got water in it and "spoiled".

It can still oxidize and turn to vinegar or get culture growths if you leave it out, but compared to most other forms of fermentation it's pretty forgiving. By modern standards though, it'll taste like jet fuel if you stress the yeasts and don't give it time to mellow, of course.

Works for me.

Seriously though Dove's just got rough vibes with the dude and after threatening to kill her stormed off and dissapeared. Anyone with a bit of danger sense would be wary here imo.

06:48, Today: Dove Laneri rolled 23,8 using 1d20+3,1d20+5.  Perception (Dove, Stripes).

Wasn’t sure if you wanted results in other thread or here so responding here. Dove is apparently hyper alert right now.

Looking human with Darkvision is probably gonna give something a nasty surprise too

Waiting on some posts.

Dove, no one can tell if you have Darkvision unless you specifically state it. You look human other then having a familiar come out of you and have tatoos. Unless you tell them your a Aasimar.
