Now that we have the party established, many of you are well on your way to having completed and approved characters.
Using this opportunity, Introduce yourselves to each other on the OOC board and tell each other on how you are going to play your characters. Only disclose things your character would say or do, not the things you keep locked away.
Also, this is a great time to establish some ground rules for posting.
I think one interactive post per week should be a fine minimum. I'm not sure how fast people are used to this, if things go faster I can manage. By interactive I mean something that deals with others and other things than your character. Giving some exposition or reloading does not apply. But shoot at someone and asking a question to an NPC does. Also, if you have upcoming events that might keep you from posting let me know ASAP, that way we can NPC you or worst case, pull you out for some time.
About posting, we can all be adults here but let's keep it clean. Unnecessary profanity and vulgarity will not be tolerated and can have you kicked from the game. You guys have time to think of great ideas, don't ruin them with this stuff. If you need to, do it in character, using lingo from the story like Drek or Dandelion eater.
This game is meant to be fun and a group experience so keep the grudges far from it. Even if your character has a good reason to dislike/hate/want dead the other, find a reason not to. Same thing with the language, don't direct it at allies with vulgar intent.
Finally, I wanna get this thing on the road so do you guys think we can manage to have character sheets up on the character board and have everyone ready to post by Monday the 25th?

Hey All,
I'm quite new to the site and still getting the hang of everything. I should have said this earlier and that's on me but can we keep character creation to the core book and run faster? If you have any concerns about that, let me know I'm sure we can work it out.

Question - with Run Faster in the mix, how do you want the character creation done? Personally, I'd vote for Karma/Life Modules myself, but also if going priorities the Sum to 10 I think works best....

So am in need of helpful advice.  I really want my character to have a code of honour.  As I mentioned a few days ago, she is infected, and aside from the fact that I really need the points (being a vampire is expensive, fer realz!), i also like the idea that she has some kind of moral bedrock that she clings to that keeps her semi human despite being largely cut off from the normal ebb and flow of human life, and occasionally needing to eat people's souls.  Something she feels helps her be human.

I just can't decide what.

So far leading candidate is that as an outcast herself she feels compelled to defend others like her, and refrain from harming them (which would include not only other infected but others who are outside of normal society, like fellow shadowrunners.  Feeling compeleld to protect innocent outcasts makes a great potential story hook for the GM but I worry that the downside is unlikely rto arise very often (how many times in a campaign do you run across a rival shadowrunner team or other band of misfits as the antagonists, making it inconvenient to refuse to kill them?  I gess it depends on how broadly one interprets outcasts.

Since she is a shaman (in the slavic pagan tradition) ive also considered something more cerebral, like she feels obligated to offer aid and council to those who seek it.  That seems a bit open ended and wishy washy though.

Do you have a copy of Run Faster?

THE SHAMAN’S CODE:
May only Bind spirits after agreeing to a fair exchange of services.
Must always treat spirits with respect.
Must honor deals made with spirits.

THE AKICHITA CODE:
Never show fear.
Challenge your strength against worthy foes.
Do not allow yourself or your loved ones to fall into decadence or slothful behavior.
Never harm the weak or innocent.

You could take a few rules from each, possibly changing 'loved ones' to 'other infected', and have a solid moral code for dealing with people, infected, and spirits.

Re: Set up
This is whatI came up with and proposed to the GM.  With that my character is done

*Treat spirits with respect.
*Honour deals with spirits
*Always provide honest advise to those who seek it
*Do not show weakness to strangers.
*Do not betray friends.
*Do not allow herself or other infected to succumb to feral behaviour.
*Do not harm other infected, or fellow outcasts.
