After a moment or two Winnie heads across to the table with a bottle of wine and two cups.

"Not the best, I afraid, just a bottle of the local brew.  So how has it been going?"

"Local is fine, unless you have something better hidden up your sleeve. The expedition into to Kamelands went moderately well - we dealt with some cyclopses - cyclopsii? - and I believe made the realm safer, at the cost of one of our traveling companions - Gehron. I wish I knew him better before he died." She says with a little moroseness in her voice.

As the wine is poured she takes her glass and swirls it a touch before taking a sip. "Not a bad blend."

"Gerhon?  I don't think I met him." Winnie says furrowing her brow in thought.  How long are you staying in town for?  Will I be seeing more of you?  I can always get you a job waiting table, it is surprising what you can overhear.  See that man over there ..."  Winnie indicates a fat man with a beard and drops her voice.

"From what I heard he was a local man, but other than that..." she sighs but otherwise doesn't dwell on what might have been, simply opting for another sip of wine before answering Winnie's next few questions.

"I do plan to stay, yes. We travelled so far to get here, it wouldn't seem right to just....leave, not with how the Dragon's Den is coming along - It looks wonderful, dear - and really, where would I go? The Dragon's Den makes a good home. She says with a small smile, then good-naturedly rolls her eyes at the gossip and whispers back  she says with a tiny smirk.

Winnie laughs lightly and looks shocked.  "of course not!  Would I do such a thing?" she responds aloud to the whispered question, although there is humour in her voice and laughter lines around her eyes.  "Good.  I will tell Wyn you are staying.  There is a little room up in the loft floor that is empty.  It is small, I am afraid.  It is actually meant for when we get live in staff -  but You an I can decorate it and make it look nice tomorrow ...."  Suddenly stopping Winnie wonders if the offer might have insulted her friend.

"What do you call more than one Cyclops ?  A damn big problem !" Berta grins, crossing the floor as she finally gets a moment to greet Marceline with more than the quick nod that she was able to spare when her companion from the long ship voyage first entered.

The warrior-woman stoops to grasp her friend in a decidedly robust hug.

"You still have all your limbs intact, so I shall assume your battles went well - you wil have to tell me of them ... though I can't sit for long as I'm on duty, charged with watching over our esteemed patrons !" she grins broadly.

"I'll help move the furniture," Berta offers on the back of Winnie's suggestion.

"The room will be fine." Marceline tells her friend reassuringly as she's joined - and fiercely hugged - by Berta. "Oof. Yes, I managed to keep my limbs where they belong - this time." She jokes with her friends and takes another sip of wine.

"But really, thank you. The room will be more than enough until I know what I'll be doing with myself here in town. I'm sure some opportunity will present itself - if nothing else I become staff." She says with a shrug and a smile. After the last few days in the wilderness and the somberness of her duties burying Gehron, it felt good to just enjoy life for a while.

"There seems to be a lot of money flowing into town," Berta notes.  "And I'm pleased to say that some of it is finding its way here," she knocks on the wooden tabletop.

"Your little expedition - that'll have got you a lot of good will with old Henry. You should capitalise on that.  Put your money into something you're interested in or you've always wanted to do ... or is just a good investment to make your coin while you're trying to work that out.  Me, I was always happiest in a tavern, so now I have my share in one, and family close at hand so I can keep an eye on them ... Shards and Scales, I'm living the dream !"

"We just have to keep an eye out for Berta hugs ..." she says smiling across at her sister-in-law.  "But she is right, you know.  This is the proverbial land of opportunity, just as Kezra said it would be.  It has even got to Wyn.  He has been talking about buying a brewery and building a place in the country!"

"A brewery? Wyn certainly has ambition - although a house in the country seems a nice idea..." Marceline muses for a moment before shaking her head. "No, I think something simpler for myself. A nice house, but not something extravagant. What would I do with it?"

"The countryside would be a bit quiet for me, though my brothers would argue it'd be considerably less quiet with me loosed upon it !" Berta chortles.

"I'll gladly spend my time between the Dragon and the brewery - Chief Taster has a nice ring to it."

"You'll need a big house so you've room for all your suitors," the warrior-woman winks a Winnie as she teases Marceline.

It takes Marceline all her willpower to not roll her eyes at Berta. "Of course, how could I forget my true reason for coming here; A harem to be the envy of allll Golarion." she deadpans and sips her wine, a sparkle of mischief in her eyes the only giveaway about her joking manor.

"No, suitors or not, something small will be enough. Maybe something closer to the Pharasman chapel." She muses before she remembers something. "Oh, do either of you know a jewellery maker? I obtained some gemstones on the trip into the Kamelands, I think I would like them to be made into a necklace or two."

The warrior-woman snorts with good humour at Marceline's reply.  "As long as you have a guest room, I'll visit," she assures her friend, "when duty allows.  That wine won't taste itself !"

Thinking of the notice that Wyn put up, Berta opens her mouth to answer her... then remembers various dire threats her older brother made should Winnie find out.

"I might know someone," she tells Marceline, discreet when she feels like it.  "I'll get back to you."

"Definitely a guest room then, assuming the harem isn't using it." Marceline jokes again, catching Berta's odd answwer to her jewellerycrafter question, but saying nothing of it.

"Thankyou dear. It's not urgent, so don't feel rushed."

"You could leave me one !" Berta complains, grinning even more broadly.

Winnie laughs lightly as Berta and marceline tease each other.
