Hargrym scratches at his chin for a moment in thought."Aye I believe that would work also, might be better I suppose in the long run.  Once I have heard from New Dawn I'll confirm our plans.  Torag's grace upon ye" he rose, shook hands and headed out to await developments.

Domitius approached the teller "My good man I would like to enquire about the possibility of opening a line of credit with the Bank on behalf of Winter Sun Merchants.  We seek to expand our business and support trade throught Midmarch and beyond."

"We can certainly set up the necessary paperwork, Mr Domitius, but our resources are somewhat limited at present. I understand that Mr Silverhammer is one of your people and we are already  in talks regarding a loan for a business interest he represents in New Dawn. We would feel morally obliged to share our resources more widely than just one merchant company if there is interest from other people in Midmarch as well. We will need to wait a little while to see who else applies for a loan before we could commit to a further line of credit for Winter Sun," the Banker relied.

Domitius blinks a couple of times "I see, well I suppose it would be different if one of your Tusk fellows asked.  Where as if it's someone from the smaller settlements you turn your nose up.  Very well, if that is the way you run things here then perhaps Lord Kendrick should apply.  Good day to you sir. Domitius rose and left the bank.

"Greetings Adoven, it is a pleasure to see you again. Just a moment."

He watched Domitius leave then shrugged and turned back to Safiya.

"Certainly Safiya. I will have the papers drawn up straight away. Consider the loan yours whenever you are ready to put it to use."

Then back to Adoven.

"I've never known it so busy in here but I think we have an opportunity now for that discussion," he agreed.

Adoven smiled. So good to be dealing with a professional. "Not a problem, I understand completely. I don't know if you heard, but I bought a mule train and serai in Feyfalls. I need to build a Serai here as well to set up a route, but I fear I've overextended this season. I need to borrow (1 bp), and need to know your terms for repayment?"

"Very well then." Once the proposed agreement has been signed, Safiya nods a farewell and takes her leave. "Till next time."

Done and done.

In reply to Adoven (msg # 22):

"I think we can manage that. The usual terms of the loan would be three repayments over three years (Kingdon turns), each equal to half of what was borrowed, so the total repayment is one and a half times what was borrowed," Andalon explains.

"Right we will go ahead with the loan, the more work we Silverhammers can find in Midmarch the more likely we will get recognition within the Stolen Lands and maybe a hold of our own." Hargrym replied after taking some notes and comparing figures.

"That sounds good, Mr Silverhammer, but we will just need to double check that you will be able to make the repayments when they are due," the Banker advised as he sat down with Hargrym to go over the dwarf's figures.

Cyrus had been preparing for this journey for some time. Valoria missed her cousin dearly and had proposed a way to have him visit Ringbridge more often. And so it was with a broad smile on his face, knowing he was acting in the best interest of his family and the burgeoning town of Ringbridge, that he opened the doors to the Bank of Abadar and asked the clerk to see Andalon.

When the man appeared, Cyrus greeted him with a strong handshake, grabbing Andalon’s right hand with his own and his right forearm with his left hand, signifying the trust and bond they had formed over the years. “It has been too long cousin. You look well. And this,” he let his left arm leave Andalon’s forearm and spread his hand around him gesturing to the interior of the bank, “Well clearly you have done well for your lord, my good man. Valoria sends her love and she ordered me to beg you to pay us a visit at your convenience, of course, to see our boy. He is quite the young tot now.”

"Well met, cousin. I have been meaning to make the trip to Ringbridge to visit your growing family and see how the place has grown from the ring-fort we helped capture from those bandits years. Is it that many years already? I tell you what, I will travel back with you when you go home to Ringbridge. There is no better time than the present and I can't think of a more enjoyable way to spend a week at this time of year."

Andalon smiled and clapped Cyrus on the back as he committed himself to the journey.

Cyrus smiled and said, “Well it is settled then. I would be honored to have you travel with me and show you the improvements along the way. We’d also hoped you’d consider sponsoring a presence of Abadar in Ringbridge in the coming days. I know much is being invested in Tusk and that Kunlun is becoming a religious center of sorts, but I hope to have the gods and goddesses of this land worshipped in Ringbridge as well. My good friend Gandred has invested in a Shrine to Torag and Abbess Beatrix has a Holy House dedicated to Pharasma as well. I know Valoria would like a presence that she is fond of herself. I am considering how we might honor Abadar with our economic expansions as well and hope to speak to Henry about expanding the market he built into one that supports the broader region. These are all just thoughts mind you. I would welcome your advice given the success you have had in your endeavors over these past few years.”

He paused before concluding, “Before I return, I have to look into the efforts needed to expand our house here into a mansion. That would allow Valoria to spend more of her time here. I have also heard of the Duel and have been considering entering my name. I perused the rules and they won’t allow my favored weapon, but I could make do with a smaller blade and shield.”.

"Thank you Master Gaius. Lady Vallani is a valued customer of ours. Please pass on our best wishes to her when you see her next."

With the repayments received or due on existing loans the Bank of Abadar in Tusk City currently has a total of 2.8BP available to loan. So loans of up to one BP may be available to anyone who needs some extra funds for a building or business development anywhere in Midmarch/Tusk/etc.

Conditions of the loan:
  • 50% interest (i.e. borrow 1BP, repay 1.5BP)
  • To be repaid over the next three Kingdom turns (i.e. repay 0.5BP per turn for three turns.)
  • Subject to the proposed development being approved by the relevant Council or authority in charge of the settlement where the development is proposed.

If anyone would like to enquire about a loan, this is the place to do it.

Similarly, if anyone has BP they don't have a use for and would like to add them to the funds available for loan, this is the place to do it.
