"Good morning. I am here on a personal matter, rather than anything directly connected with the Church of Abadar. I have already established a museum over in the College District and I would like to develop an art gallery there, as well. I already have half of the funds required but would need to borrow 1 BP to make up the balance. The museum already generates an income of 0.5 BP, which I believe would cover the repayments due on that loan. Do you think that would be all right?" he asks a little nervously.

The bank manager smiles warmly at Brother Florin.

"That sounds like a wonderful idea. I have a niece who is a student at the Three Ladies' School near there. She and several of her friends are keen artists and, if I may say so, quite talented, too. I think the Bank could manage to offer a small prize for an art competition next year, if you would be willing to display the entries for a month or so before the judging?

"Oh, that doesn't affect the terms of the loan, of course. A loan of 1 BP would need to be repaid with interest - a total of three repayments of 0.5 BP per year over the next three years, but I am sure you already knew that, Brother Florin."

Gedd Roth, the halforc from the Dragon's Den, walked into the bank and approached the bank teller.

"Hello, I have come to pay off our current loan and talk about taking out another loan for another project we are going to build this year. Here is the 0.3 BP we owe as full payment for our 0.2 BP loan last year.

"This time we would like to borrow 0.8 BP, if the Bank agrees? We are planning to build a distillery in Tusk to make brandy to add to the range of beverages we have on offer," he explains.

The bank teller refers Gedd's request to the bank manager and soon comes back wearing a smile.

"Certainly, Sir. The bank will be happy to loan the Roth family that additional 0.8 BP. I understand you are already familiar with our standard rates, so that would be three repayments of 0.4 BP each year for the next three years. I trust that is to your satisfaction, Sir?"

OOC: The bank now has 3BP available for loan.

A factor for V&A arrives with an odd question. "Does the Bank of Abadar exist in other cities? If so, is there a fee for transferring assets from one branch to another?"

The bank teller is happy to answer Tobias's questions - as much as he knows, anyway.

"The Bank of Abadar in Tusk currently has branches established in Wyvern Bridge and New Dawn, as well. Transfer of funds to those branches would be a simple matter. There are many other Banks of Abadar in many other cities too, of course, including New Stetven and Restov, but they would fall under the control of the local temple or cathedral of Abadar in those cities and their respective head priests or bishops.

"We would be able to issue a letter of credit from the Bank of Abadar in Tusk which would be honoured by any other Bank of Abadar but there would indeed be a fee associated with that service to cover the future cost of transporting that wealth from one city to another. I believe it would only be a small percentage of the total amount of funds that are being transferred. If you wish to make use of this service in future, I would need to consult with my superiors to confirm exactly what that fee would be."

NOTE:  BP transfers can not be made through the bank, and the standard 'international' trading fees will still apply.

"Greetings, good sir," he says to the bank teller. "I am here to make the first repayment on my loan for the Art Gallery. Half a BP, as agreed," he announces with a smile.

The bankteller smiles as he accepted the loan repayment from Brother Florin.

"Thank you, Brother. Your prompt payment is appreciated. Clearly Abadar smiles upon your endeavours."

Kiera walks into the bank, and repays the 1bp that she has outstanding.

The bankteller smiles as he accepts the loan repayment from Kiera.

"Thank you, Ma'am. I am pleased to confirm that clears your loan account with us. If you ever have need of another loan in future, we will be very pleased to assist you again."

Safiya's cousin Alexi arrives at the bank to make final payment on the loan. "I believe this settles our accounts? And I hope our future cooperation will be just as profitable for both Vallani Estates and the Bank of Abadar."

Paying back the last 0,5 BPs.

The bankteller smiles again as he accepts the loan repayment from Alexi.

"Thank you, sir. It has been a pleasure doing business with the Vallani Estates. Do call upon us again if we can be of any further assistance in future."

OOC: The Bank currently has 5.0 BP available for loans.

"As a matter of fact, perhaps we could come to an arrangement right now? Assuming you have funds available for a new loan?"

OOC: I forgot, what's the maximum loan that can be taken?

OOC: Normally we limit loans to 1.0 BP to make sure the funds are available to as many people as possible. However there has been no interest from anyone else so far, so a loan of 2 or 3 BP would probably be fine.

"A larger loan would be preferable this time, assuming the bank of Abadar is willing to fund one. I assure you that Vallani estate can cover it."

3 BPs loan, paid back in 3 installments of 1.5 BPs each, right?

If there is a sudden interest in loans, I'm perfectly fine with a lesser loan as well. I just need to know that before the deadline so that I can adjust my plans.

The bankteller excuses himself as soon as Alexi indicates the size of the loan he is seeking. A few minutes later the Bank Manager himself comes out to take over the negotiations.

"Master Vallani, your request has been passed to me to consider. We do have the funds available and we would be willing to lend that amount to House Vallani, as you are already valued customers of the Bank. You are correct about the required repayments. We would just like to know some details of what you propose to invest those funds in, just to be sure it is something we would be comfortable supporting."

"Most likely for commercial development of Eastgate, a market and serai with mules or ox trains. Lord Henry has most graciously allowed Vallani estate to carry on development of the village."

OOC: Got several things planned for this round, but I assume this would be ok with Abadar?

The bank manager smiles.

”That sounds like exactly the sort of development that the church of Abadar would like to see more of, so I am very pleased to confirm we will be able to lend House Vallani the funds you have requested.”

"Excellent. If there is nothing more, I believe we can call it a deal. I am sure your staff will be able to deal with the details of the loan."

I'm assuming the deal is concluded then: 3 BPs loan, to return 1.5 BPs for the next three rounds. Let me know if something changes.
