Fuzzy: Bank of Abadar

"Excellent. I'll be staying in Tusk for a while, so please let me know when we can sign the agreement." If there is nothing more to settle, Gaius sets to leave for now and return later when the contract can be signed.

Alright then, we can agree on 1 BP loan at the usual conditions. Assuming everything goes well, would it be ok if we just assume this deal settled?

Current loans as at year 4717 4716:
Safiya:
Adoven:
Marik:

The Bank currently has another 1.7BP available for loans. The preference will be to offer loans of up to 1.0BP to people who do not already have a loan, but if there is low demand from new borrowers those funds may become available to existing borrowers as the planning for this Kingdom turn draws to a close.

Re: Fuzzy: Bank of Abadar

Feeling a little cowed, Kiera would walk into the bank, uncharacteristically quiet as she waited to talk to someone free.

When one of the tellers would be free, she’d walk up and wait to be noticed- one didn’t get on the bad side of Abadar if you could help it- and made her intentions known.

“Uhm… hello… I’d like to enquire about a loan, if I may?”

OOC: Kiera is seeking a loan of 0.5 BP, but I’ll take a whole BP if the half is undoable.

Re: Fuzzy: Bank of Abadar

One of the tellers looked up and smiled encouragingly when Kiera approached.

"Good morning, madame. I am sure we will be able to help you. Let me explain how the loan process works ..."

OOC: Basically two loan amounts are currently available (0.5BP or 1.0BP), with a few variations on repayment options:
  1. Borrow 1.0BP, repay 3x0.5BP over 3 turns
  2. Borrow 0.5BP, repay 3x0.25BP over 3 turns (or if you don't like 2 decimal places you can repay 0.7BP over 2 turns or 0.8BP over 3 turns).

Re: Fuzzy: Bank of Abadar

She takes a quick thought- estimating how much the plans she had in mind would cost- and then nodded.

“I’m doubting I’m going to need too much- better to not take too much. But I’d like to take a loan out to help cover the costs of financing a second tavern of mine. The proceeds from my first should be enough to make sure I can cover the payments, no problem.”

It wasn’t in her mind to mess around with anything- and those who got in over their head with things tended to lose it all.

OOC: 0.5 BP with terms of 0.25 due the next three turns would be very acceptable.

Re: Fuzzy: Bank of Abadar

The teller had been distracted by a disturbance outside the bank but finally Kiera had his full attention again.

"I'm sorry about that, madame. I thought for a moment ... well, never mind. Everything is under control, as always. We can certainly provide the loan you require. I will have the papers drawn up straight away for you to sign," the teller said with a smile.

It only took about half an hour after that for the contract to be written and signed. After that Kiera could choose to take the loan in cash, if she wishes, although a letter of credit issued by the bank might be a more practical option until she needs to pay for construction of the new tavern. Either way, Kiera now has access to the funds she requested.

OOC: Borrow 0.5BP, repay 3 payments of 0.25BP over the next 3 turns.

Taking her time to make sure everything was signed, sealed, and delivered, Kiera rises and gives a gracious nod to the teller, and walks out with her letter of credit.

Notes about other loans:
  • Kiera's loan was subsequently increased to 1BP to cover an upgrade from Shrine to Great Shrine as part of her development in Stadium district, with 3 payments of 0.5BP over the next 3 turns.
  • The Bank has agreed to give Tusk City Council a small interest-free loan of 0.1BP to cover a small shortfall in funds currently available to the City for the list of works being undertaken by the City this year. The City will repay that 0.1BP in full next turn.

The bank tellers welcomed both Kiera and Aranel with all the courtesy due to valued and respected customers. Their payments were duly recorded and receipts issued for both of them.

"Thank you madam. Yes, everything is in order. If you happen to hear of anyone else who could benefit from a loan this year we would certainly welcome their business, too."

Re: Fuzzy: Bank of Abadar

Entering with a leather satchel and a few coin bags, Lord Adoven makes his way to the Bank Manager. He says "here are the loan repayments for this year, as per our agreement. You will find minor deeds ceded to the Church for future expansion as well as coin."

Repaying 1.0 bp this turn. I figure it'd be both coin and land. Only 0.5 bp to be repaid next Year remains

Re: Fuzzy: Bank of Abadar

As he is finishing his transaction, a messenger comes to Adoven. He peruses the message and purses his lips in thought for a moment. He then turns to the bank manager and says "those securities I emplaced in Trust last year....it seems that V&A managed our expansions without them. If you are amenable to the idea, I will sign them over to the bank to complete our repayment of the numerous bank loans we took out in years past."

OOC We had 0.5 bp banked. We will use that to repay the 0.5 bp owed for past loans. Normally it shows as being needed to be paid Next Turn, but I had an extra 0.5 bp so I'm paying it off.

Gedd Roth is recognised by quite a few folk around town as the half-orc usually found either serving behind the bar or taking turns with his sister Berta as bouncer at the door of the Dragon's Den.

When he turns up at the Bank of Abadar asking about a loan, the only surprise is that he is the member of the Roth family that is doing the asking.

"You see, we just need a small loan (only 0.2BP) to top up our own funds to build a Tavern out by Shrike Bastion. We figure the troops stationed at that bastion, together with fisherfolk working the lake and the occasional boats travelling on the Shrike River will provide enough customers to make a tavern workable out there. We would easily be able to repay the loan in full next year."
