Fuzzy:  Smaller Settlements Development

Note: this thread is semi-IC and semi-OOC.  IC is nice, but feel free to use OOC if you need to.

This thread covers all Midmarch settlements EXCEPT Tusk and henry's Holdings.  Thi incorporates

  • Ringbridge
This town consists of two districts and a military outpost (Bastion) guarding the bridge across the shrike river.  It is open to  investments of all sorts, but is particularly interested at Military developments that can be located at Bastion.
  • Oston
A one district town it is almost full -  however,  Oston welcomes  the development of farming or ranching Hamlets as secondary settlements.
  • Vallai Estates
Feyfalls and Whiterun are currently both villages with limited potential.  However, one (or both) of them is likely to develop into a small town very soon.
  • Marik Metals
With holdings at Ironkeep and New Dawn and a patent  that controls trade with the Sootscales.  There are limited development opportunities at Ironkeep, although New Dawn has greater potential.
  • Silverton
A newly developed village just outside Tusk, which is very convenient for city access.
  • Old Keep
This, as yet, unnamed keep south of Midmarch will be developed shortly.  While it isn't part of the province, it is supported.

The Player Information Thread II has a list of the BPs that you can spend.

My employer, V&A, has reached an agreement with Safiya, mayor of Feyfalls. We will be stationing a serai and a mule train in Feyfalls. Mostly for local trade, but we hope to expand it as a leg to a Tusk/Restov Trade Route.

Alanna sits casually, a mirthful smile on her face as she nods to each of the other representatives. She was, as usual, wearing a quite flattering ensemble; a simple green dress that matched her eyes and contrasted beautifully with her red hair, cut tight to show off her curvy figure and exposing ample cleavage.

"Friends, it is with great pleasure," she says as she stands up, "to announce that New Dawn has made it through its first winter unscathed and ready for expansion. To our surprise and excitement, a large deposit of gold was found not far from the site of New Dawn's tavern, and I am happy to report that construction of a mine has already begun. With this additional work, we expect an influx of personnel, both workers and transients, and as such Marik has authorized the expansion of our tavern to a road house."

She takes a moment to pause and smile prettily to everyone in attendance, "Given our favorable location and the newly found gold deposits, we have high hopes that New Dawn will flourish here in Midmarch and want to offer an opportunity for early investment to those with the foresight to see our grand future." She smiles once more and nods to everyone before taking her seat again.

Hargrym stood up "We would like to expand the stoneworks to bring in mastercraftsman.  With the increase in demand from all the building going on we need more space and better working conditions."

Ooc: Looking to expand to a mastercraftsman shop.

GM says this is in Ringbridge  :)

Alanna smiled at the dwarf, "Well, as we are a growing village, I could imagine a stonemason such as yourself could find ample work if one were to invest in a workshop. I would think similar trades such as leatherworking or carpentry would also be in high demand. Of course, with our mine being built, I'm sure a shrine or holy house dedicated to Torag would be a welcome sight as well," she added with a small wink.

OOC:  This is getting confusing.  Lesson learned, I will make smaller development threads next time.

Analysis to date.

  • V&A are buying the Searai in Feyfalls from Safiya.
  • Dom's Stoneworks in Ringbridge is allowed to expand.  {This gives +1 econ - in this instance Ringbridge will cover the social costs. Good job Valaria isn't here :P }
  • Lutz will build a Great Shrine at New Dawn (+1 Loy, +1 Stab)

Lord Cyrus are there plans to improve the road to Varnhold?  Also what of the lands to the south, along the Gudrin river do you have plans to explore that are? Hargrym asked respectfully.

Cyrus considers for a moment, then answers the dwarf, "Well.  The road runs pretty much all the way up to Varnhold's borders already.  After that it becomes Varn's responsibility.  I don't think Lord Henry is looking too far south at the moment, although I can't be sure of that.  My interests, of course, lie more with the areas close to Ringbridge, and I hope to extend our holdings into those areas in the next couple of years."

Alanna nods a smiles to Hargrym, "Ah, a jeweler's shop would be most welcome in New Dawn. You are clever to take advantage of the close proximity to our new gold mine."

She then turns to Domitius, "We will happily welcome Winter Sun Merchants into our village and hope that you will enable our growth by bringing needed supplies to New Dawn, and perhaps helping to share the lovely jewelry pieces that Mr. Silverhammer's clansmen produce," she adds with a cute smile, noting that the two had been conferring earlier.

"As I said, we can accommodate both of your requests, but we would like to request a small donation to aid in the development of civil infrastructure that will insure stability and prosperity to our budding little village. Is that something you can accommodate?"
