Unfortunately Khora has left the game due to personal reasons.  I have told the player that they are welcome to return later.

Now I have to be extra careful not to kill Rana and Tatyana!

I've kind of restricted myself to the investigation scene as I just haven't had time for posting at the wedding apart from that initial introduction, and now I've fallen hopelessly behind. But I'm still here for the detective stuff!

So glad to hear you're feeling better and recovering, Maple. Keep taking it easy, I hear it takes a while to get completely over the damn virus.

And a change of Holiday plan.  Blackpool, and the whole county, has just been declared a very high Covid risk area and put into a high 'lock down' state.  So that trip has been cancelled, and we will only be going away for a few days mid-week now.

Adventure thread posts will now be spread across the weekend as normal.

I'm rather certain, the GM invited all of you new folks to participate..  Downtime is usually open to all characters playing in the current period.

Downtime is your opportunity to do a little side role play to please the DM and gain a little extra XP. It is his opportunity to just read and enjoy without having to orchestrate. So feel free to join in.

Yep.  Downtime is there for everyone.

In some respects, it is pretty much as Cass said -  In other ways it is a chance for you guys to write about your characters, explore them a bit or let others see further into your characterization / background.  It is also a chance to practice craft skills etc.

You  get XP for all sorts of things in this game. While most of your XP comes from adventuring, you also get XP for RP (in both the adventure and fuzzy threads) as well as participation in the campaign system.  Just this week, I gave a Character a 50xp RP bonus for a single post in an adventure thread that fitted the situation perfectly and made me grin.

A single post award is rare, it normally takes a series of posts to trigger an XP award. 

Time is an issue in a large game with multiple groups and a campaign system that gives you bonuses based on business developments.  We use Fuzzy:Time  threads  (such as the Wedding threads) to let characters meet up, form relationships and interact  across groups.  Adventuring parties are rarely 'in-town' at the same time, and concluding 'adventures' at the same time is a nightmare!

A 'game year' lasts 6 RL months - Downtime comes around every 3 RL months or so.

I am getting 502 and 504 gateway errors all the time - and the site is generally very, very slow.

It has been raised on all the reporting and technical boards.  So all we can do is wait for it to be fixed.  I guess Jase has will be chasing the hosts soon -  if he hasn't started already :)

 Understood. Unfortunately, I don't really have anything yet... Not without being a little more grounded in the game and the world. Hopefully, once I start to meet people and do things, with a sense of where Vova is and what's going on, I can spread him out some.

 I could write a vignette piece of Vova waking up in a gutter somewhere, but I'm not even entirely certain where we are in a larger sense, so I'm going to hold off until I do. ^_^

That's cool.  Everything is optional :)  Even adventuring, although I don't run Fuzzy threads all the time.

You could, if you wanted to, write a piece on Vova waking up in the gutter on the trip here.  Or even before the trip here started.  Downtime is (within reason) yours to play with :)

I am going to close down all the wedding party threads and the downtime thread next weekend.

I'll open up a  Fuzzy Mithral Dining room  instead.  Along with the Dragon's and Nerid's threads that will give  three threads for people to run Fuzzy RP, if you want to.

I'm gonna attempt to make a couple posts in there before they close, because there's some surrealism to gatherings being fantasy these days, but only if I don't die from having spent the last 12 hours moving. I can't believe how badly everything hurts.

GM, by next weekend, did you mean the current weekend (you posted that on friday), or that we have one more week, yet?   I say we've gotten our money's worth out of the threads -   but I've got one final item (maybe two) before we close, though suppose I can use the dining thread, if need be.
