Andalon de Lebeda:
Was that a liquid diet or a really good weekend?  ;o)

Just one weekend, it's probably good.  If it's every weekend, and "weekends" start getting to be five or six days long, well...

Had Domitius been resolved on going through with the duel, I'd envisioned a scene with Alisa sitting between Kiera and Berta, her face in her hands, like "Here I am with representatives of the two best boozing houses in the lands.  And, I can't even ask either of you for anything to drink, because I'm..."

Re: OOC 3

I have been working to restructure the wiki to reflect the split between Tusk, Midmarch and Old Keep - I am getting there slowly.

As part of that, I have been working with Tusk Council to establish an 'electoral' system for Tusk.  Don't expect a full on democracy -  it is more like a  Fantasy Version  of the historic system used in free cities found in the Hanseatic League or Holy Roman Empire.

Welcome to Lords, Lairds and Burghers ...

http://rp.baileymail.net/doku....tusk:tuskcitycharter

What it does mean, is that any PC can build up their investment to a point where they can be elected to the council -  AND Then (if they really want to) can try to recall an existing Council Member, so that there is a post for to apply for  :P

One for the established PCs -  have a look through this list and check that I have all of your entourages.  If not PM me with the ones who are missing.

New Guys - I'll add you when we get back from adventuring, you get your first BP to spend and you are an established part of the game  :)  That said, it is a handy 'pocket guide' to most of the people you might meet (or search out) in game

Re: OOC 3

I have enhanced the  Campaign Rules  concerning brewing - and you can now brew 'Ale' in a Craft Workshop.  However, a  Brewery is still required if you  want to make a named beer (such as Poachers Pale), rather than the generic 'ale'.

You can see my thinking here

http://galinia.org.uk/beer-and-ale

The same will hold true for wines, although I haven't got around to working out the detail yet.

Vova's ambition may now be to start an abbey that churns out bottles of Commotion Lotion, aka Cumbernauld Rocket Fuel, aka 'a bottle of what the fuck are you looking at?' ^_^

I have just updated the map for group0.  It now has Hex Numbers for Varnhold -  and hexes that have been explored but not yet been settled/incorporated are outlined in white.

Re: OOC 3

I was working on converting a city I helped write 20-odd years ago, when I came across the PF rules for Troops.

https://www.d20pfsrd.com/besti...ngs/humanoids/troop/
https://www.d20pfsrd.com/besti...ture-types#TOC-Troop

Which, I think, may provide a good way to resolve mass combat when we need it.

However, they need converting for my rules, as the Troop models are based on units consisting of level 1 fighters - rather than L3 warriors.

If anyone wants to help, I'll start a Troop Development thread  :)

*grin*  You still have the hopyard, farms and parents to visit :)  And you might get something at the funeral later.

Cass - They have been investigating a murder.

Berta -  yes, it is close to the Roth Hopyards.  To make it worse the girl was working there  ...  No.  You can't go up there for a visit.

Tatyana - I don't think anyone else (apart from your group) can even see your thread :)

Re: OOC 3

Ach, I have started to lose track of time very badly! I hardly go outside of the house nowadays, have minimal work commitments and spend a lot of my time playing with game systems.  Days blur into each other, and I have to keep asking my wife what day of the week it is ....

However, it is getting close to the Autumn Solstice -  when we are scheduled for another round of Fuzzy Threads.  I want something fairly local this time -  something that allows you to mix across parties and get to know the new guys  :)

We normally have two Fuzzy RP threads -  I think I have one sussed - But I am open to suggestions for the second one.

Re: OOC 3

And ......

I have just made a blog post on troop types, because I am rethinking and tying down the mass combat rules and how they interact with the rest of the Campaign Rules.

Many of you will have realized, by now, that my Blog posts are little more than  'Stream of Thinking' posts.  Writing things down help me get my thoughts in order, which is (most likely) a hang over from my days as an academic :)  That said,  what I write in them is not set in stone and I welcome any thoughts or comments  :)

Ah, I didn't realize, sorry! I can see the Bogside thread so just assumed they were all open.

Well, unless anyone else has any pressing other thoughts, hopyard next?

In reply to Tatyana (msg # 270):

Tatyana - we had discussed the order of our investigation in the thread ... place of death - work place - family - funeral ... is the way I think we were going to work it (all dependent upon when the funeral was taking place because we definitely wanted to be there for that!)

Re: OOC 3

I have just tweaked the Entourage rules so that Entourage-Cousins and Entourage-Allies can advance to higher levels -  however, advancement beyond L5 depends on how much XP they earn from their holdings, at 100xp per BP of income.  There are a few extras as well, but for most Entourages they won't exceed 250xp per year.  As their personal holdings increase, the more XP they get.

Mother Beatrix (who is a blood-cousin to Henry) gets XP for controlling the Pharasman Abbey and its associated Holy Houses.  She gets 650xp per year - 400xp from the Pharasman estate and 250 for being a 'Local Celebrity'  (as are most NPCs with any holdings at all)

Rikka (who is a Cohort-Cousin to Henry but now advances using the same XP system) picks up about 450 xp per year from her basic dealings - although she also gets about 1000xp per year to reflect her role as Treasurer of Midmarch.   Although you should note that  the XP that Henry gets less XP because of it.

This is meant to encourage you to behave well by your Cousins and Allies.  However, they will be satisfied if you restrict their 'personal' holdings  to  a setting that gives them 3* accommodation - be it a Hamlet, Village or a Business.

You do not have to give them any holdings, of course, but then they don't advance beyond L5. At L6, if they have at least one stat at 15, and the appropriate prerequisites, they may advance to an appropriate PC or Prestige class.
