Re: OOC 3
The Staglord's Fort was little more than an outpost, that Henry spent BP on to develop into a Keep. The Orcy Ring was probably closest to a watchtower with a palisade - that got turned into a Fortified Manor - when BP were spent on it.

Re: OOC 3
Phew! Just finished with the Influence Spreadsheets.  I must simplify the process!

http://rp.baileymail.net/doku....midmarchpeople:start

Think of Green as 'Getting Noticed' and Gold as 'Significant'.  BUT - remember these values are relative.  Tusk's Influence in Restov, for example, is still fairly minor (compared to the leading lights of Restov)  BUT it means they know of you and might listen politely ...

There are 'cusp' scores -  a green Ten (for example) has been rounded down to 10. Non-highlighted Tens have been rounded up to 10.

Re: OOC 3
PC update.

Quentin and Dara have just become NPCs.  Their payers haven't been into the game for a couple of months, etc etc.  I think I will rule that the Characters 'fell' for each other while they were out adventuring and have now decided to settle down somewhere in Midmarch.  They will build a business based on their character backgrounds.

Mariam became a full-NPC a little while ago.

El and Pipre  do both speak to me and let me know how things are going - even though they don't get in to post / play.  Those two are on 'hold' -  they will come out of adventuring groups and hang around in group 0 threads.  Their players will still 'own' them, But I  will be NPCing occasionally and managing their resources.

All of which means I am getting close to advertising for a new tranche of Players ...

It's hurricane season out in my part of the world, and right now it's just wet and windy but it's still early days so if Marcy vanishes for a bit, that'll be why.

If you live out here in the gulf, stay safe and dry!

Yes, please take care - hope things stay as mild as possible.

Great work on the Nereid, Kiera --  I like that chair with the shawl, especially.   That was a very significant, cool detail to add in.

So far safe but soggy. Bit of flooding about so it's messing with power and internet. Attempting to catch up on threads and stuff and hope everyone is dryer than I am.

Re: OOC 3
How far does Tusk have to go to grow in size?
When it does can I have Senas make me a special deal on a +2 (8002 gp) instead of a +1?
Would Halfling size buildings only cost half as much BP?
What has it got in its pocketses?
What other questions should I be asking?

It grows every Campaign Round -  and when Tusk fills all of its seven districts -  It will grow to be a large city :)

No.  I don't understand the question, but it sounds like I should say no.

No

What has it got in its pocketses?
Handses

What other questions should I be asking?
Where can I get dried frog pills?  Or something similar.

Re: OOC 3
The one time (nearly) at cost magic item. Locked at 6000 gp or less. I believe due to Tusk not yet being a large city effecting economic range. I have finally found a nice item for +1, but +2 would be nicer. And more costly.

Dried frog pills? I thought you were hoarding them to preserve your sanity from pesky gamers. :)

Re: OOC 3
DM, I can (hopefully) clarify the limit on crafting. You've set it at 6000 gp for Midmarch based on the size of Tusk:

quote:
3) Magic Crafters will be able to buy material Components worth 75% of the base value of Tusk.

Tusk is a small city, so it has a value of 4000 gp, 75% sets the maximum component value to 3000 gp, or item value to double that - 6000 gp. So, going by that, Safiya / Senas can't craft an item worth 8000 gp until Tusk becomes a large city.

Btw Cass, I think you are confusing Senas with another NPC offering one-time deals for magic weapons/armor. There's no one-time only limit on his deals, though the 60% price tag could change in the future.

So you guys can create items that are more powerful than those that you would normally be able to buy in the city / region??

In reply to DM (msg # 75):

Eh, I'm fine with the limit. Mind you, it does make it impossible to ever craft an item of value greater than 24k, even should Tusk become a metropolis.

We'll deal with that issue when we come to it.  And I suspect it will probably  involve quests, quest items and risk etc.  BUT - they will be few and far between, because I am not going to run an extra thread on a  casual 'I want ...' type concept.

Andalon de Lebeda:
Andalon de Lebeda rolled 21 using 1d20+1.  Linguistics check.

Umm, I feel a bit of a fraud scoring 21 on a skill check I have no ranks in!

After hours of trying to decipher the writings, it was Andalon who discovered that they were actually in the common tongue. The others simply had the book upside down.

Yes, that +1 must surely be for the common sense trait --  most underrated.

And if I didn't know you'd raised any kids, I would now.   This one may serve you well in France, also.

OK.  Off to France (well the Ferry Port) any minute now.  Feel free to play in the fuzzy threads -  Adoven's party and the political reorganisation thread are still open.  The Dragon's Den and the Nereid's Nectar are both open for business.

I should be back and posting properly on the 10th or 11th.
