You know life is insane when you're almost delirious with joy for having a simple cold and not the big C. What a world we live in.

@GM is there a similar aspirations thread for Silverton? I'm trying to get all of Marcy's buildings and stuff in order and will gladly RP it with the right people if there's a thread.

Hey, if you're looking to build new businesses, you might want to consider New Dawn...I hear it's going places (or so I heard from a friend).

I did spend a lot last build round, but I'll make a note. Spread my interests around, maybe invest in some places, why not?

Very glad it wasn't the big C...

Also, Dom and I did a little of that in the Fuzzy thread set in the Swans. I am sure our GM will set one in Silverton if you like :)

Ringbridge has a brand new district with lots of open space for developments as well :)

And there are a few hamlets for those of you who would prefer the quieter life. Mound is likely going to be the home of a new craft brewery though so watch out :)

Silverton is a part of greater Tusk -  so it is covered by the Tusk aspirations thread.
Have a chat with Cass, and talk your plans through with him first, then I'll add them to the Rusk Aspirations Thread.   I'll start a PM for you.

Glad it is only a cold  :)

This seems like a fun game, is there a dice roller option for cards?

Yep :)

Click on the Down arrow to the left right of "Game System / Special Dice" - choose the 54 card pack

Re: OOC 3

12:59, Today: DM drew the 8 cards: KH, 10H, 5D, KC, KD, 10D, 5C, 9D using a deck of 54 cards.

So I might play

First hand: Three of a kind - (KH, KC, KD)
Second hand: Flush  - (10D, 9D, 5D)

Re: OOC 3

It has been there for a while, to accommodate rule systems that work on a random card draw.  I just never really thought how I could use it until now.

Re: OOC 3

There was an odd SUPERS game I played in that made use of the die-roller. Wish I could remember the System.

Re: OOC 3

I used to play an early version of marvel superheroes, it has a Red, Yellow, Green system based on d110 rolls.  Mind you, that was back in the days of street level heroes, before the time when every hero had mega powers  :)

I really liked the system -  made you think about your actions and nothing was clear cut.  I just can't run superhero games :)

Ooh, the old FASERIP system! I played the heck out of that back in the late 80s early 90s. Great memories of playing that game.

As for games that use cards, the only ones I can think of that I've played are Star Children: Velvet Generation (yep, it's a thing) and Prime Time Adventures. Yep, going into the super obscure recesses of the brain for those two.

MSHRPG (Faserip) is one of only two games that I ever really GM. Which are also my fav two to play.

Re: OOC 3

I managed to run a game  when I was a student taking my first teaching qualification, back in the 80s.

We were asked to consider Role Play(1) as a teaching device -  so I offered to run a game.  At the end of a three-hour session ... the lecturer was completely bemused.

1) It is a valid teaching technique - it lets learners practice a situation, and it can help learners understand the mind-set of people who think differently to them (among other things)

Personally (and perhaps surprisingly) I dislike it intensely as a teaching technique.

Re: OOC 3

Not familiar with that one, but I have played under 'Marvel Heroic Roleplaying' -   a more recent system that works in an intuitive, narrative driven sort of way.    I like systems where, once the sheet is done, you don't have to be constantly looking back through the books.  Or 'ctrl-f-ing' through the pdf.

In reply to DM (msg # 671):

;D

Oh, Merik, believe me, pathfinder is a love/hate thing for me.

I really hated 3.5; I learned it late (2009?), and did it grudgingly, only to get into rpol stories that made use of it.    By comparison, pathfinder was an improvement, so I don't complain.   Too much.   The high levels though, ugh, not into it.   I'm sure I'll keep advancing my character, but I'd be lying to say I'm looking forward to anything above like 7th.

Like I'm supposing many of you, D&D was my rpg roots.  It's kind of like a comfort food. I like the tropes & concepts, but the system?   Yehh.

Re: OOC 3

Yeah, I totally get that. Have you tried D&D 5E? I prefer it soooo much, and I'm in a couple of Pathfinder 2E games here on RPoL and am liking it so far.

13th Age is a great game if you want to D&D feel but more of an indie/story game ruleset. or Dungeon World, a D&D themed Powered by the Apocalypse game.
