Safe, thawed and relatively unscathed, and hoping the same for my fellow Texans. What a BS week that was.

Yeah -- no kidding!  Glad that you're okay.  The weather's now over 60 degrees F where we are, and it's like it was a bad dream!  Came through w/o burst pipes or any property damage, thank goodness.   I know others who were less fortunate, now have an expensive mess..

Apologies this last couple of weeks have been hectic for me. I've finally had to cut my abusive mother out of my life and have been distracted. Back to posting for me!

In reply to Maple (msg # 754):

So sorry to hear.  :(  I had to end my marriage for the same reason.

Some people do not have any love to give you, irregardless of how you're related.   It's like trying to order a glass of chardonnay at a coffee shop.   It just isn't on the menu.

Sorry for being a bit scarce, Group 2 -- back on it this week.

As might be expected, I know Maple in real life and she's honestly very brave to be trying to do this. So though I maybe forgot to say it in the real world, I'm here for her and I'm proud of her.

Re: OOC 3

Just a heads-up, for those of you have played with her in the past.  Pipre's player has decided to leave the game, so Pipre and Big Job are now full NPCs.

I have told her that she is welcome back to the game in the future.

Re: OOC 3

We are getting close to another 'Downtime' session.  Note that this isn't a Campaign Round, just another opportunity to use up some downtime, and make downtime posts.

However, I am prepared to start another Fuzzy thread or two.  Does anyone want a Fuzzy Thread set up?

I will want an audience with Cyrus to propose my brewery and expansion in Mound. It could be at the Swans in Ringbridge.

That is something you can arrange  directly with Cyrus -  the two of you just need at agree a time and place :)

Re: OOC 3

Where does Pharasma stand on resurrection? I imagine there are those within the church who would view it as an affront to Pharasma and those who are OK as it is another divine power granting a return to life.

This one comes from an encounter in War for the Crown which we are just playing through in another game.   An individual has been returned to life via arcane methods and a high powered servant of Pharasma is out to kill the abomination and return the stolen soul.

Re: OOC 3

I can't remember where I saw it now, but I once read something along the lines of  ...

quote:
Resurrection does not stop a soul coming before Pharasma for judgement -  it just delays it.  And who is to say when it is the right time for a soul to be judged?

...  and I quite liked that.

Pharasmin clerics can take the resurrection sub-domain, so I really don't see that Pharasma objects at all  :)

Re: OOC 3

Ans, apparently ...

quote:
Inner sea Gods is good book about Pharasma which says things like:

"Though she allows resurrection, the Lady of Graves opposes undeath as a desecration of the memory of the f lesh and a corruption of a soul’s path on its journey to her judgment. She encourages her followers to hunt undead, as the souls of the destroyed undead will then reach her for judgment."

and

"Though Pharasmin priests worship the death goddess, they have no taboo against preventing death through healing, either mundane or magical. Pharasmin priests who sign on with adventuring parties usually act as healers—if not particularly gentle or sympathetic ones— and most temples raise money by selling healing and other spellcasting services. Even spells like raise dead, reincarnate, and resurrection are not forbidden, though churches usually charge a great deal for these."

Re: OOC 3

I think between the several characters (players and npc alike) we could probably get a consensus on resurrection over raise dead and all similar spells/actions.
