Re: OOC 3

I was in need of some light entertainment this morning -  so I drew up a leMaistre family structure chart.  It isn't a family tree, nor is it a straight forward management chart, nor does it show all the husbands, wives and children, or their roles.  However, it does show the main branches of the family and where they fit in the family pecking order and their sphere of influence.

See the bottom of this page ...  http://rp.baileymail.net/doku....archpeople:lemaistre

Re: OOC 3

I have tweaked some of the community developments, so that they focus on Loyalty bonuses.

http://rp.baileymail.net/doku....mmunity#developments

I probably ought to put a few more items in here.  Any Suggestions?

Re: OOC 3

And it continues ...

I have been thinking about the relationship between Loy, Stab and Def - and The Bad Things Table.  I haven't made any big changes, but I have clarified my thoughts.

Re: OOC 3

This is why I strive to either propose Balanced additions to a city, or additions that bring a city Closer to Balance. It is a worry I have about Kunlun. Too much Loyalty, not enough Stability, Economy, or Defense.

Re: OOC 3

One of the advantages that multi hex holding shave, is that they only have on Stewardship committee, and they balance over the whole of the holding -  ie all hexes.

This means that the Loy and Stab of Kunlun can be balanced by the economic benefits from other hexes in Midmarch estate -  just the provincial hexes  that belong to Henry as Vicount - not The Gates, or the Noble Houses or the 'governed towns' of Oston, Tatzleford and Wyvern Bridge.

That said, I work quite hard to maintain the balance of the provincial hexes, within the stewardship limits of the province.  Kunlun is not going to cause balance problems across Midmarch, and the (mainly) religious folk of Kunlun aren't liable to start a riot.

There is some scope for Economic developments in Kunlun -  For example there is a Tavern, an eating house and even lodgings (now)  for visiting clerics and employees.

Interestingly, It is only Loy that is significantly out of balance.  (Econ+5, Loy+10, Stab+6, Def+1)  The Def value is one point out of range  for a small town (although it is range, as part of the Province of Midmarch)

Re: OOC 3

That recent rework, especially the redefinition of Defence points, helped me think about the mass combat rules -  something I haven't really been happy with for a while.  So I have rewritten  them a simplified them a bit.

The changes make enhanced troops a bit more palatable.  Basically, you can now get a better Army (and therefore better defence) without adding defence points -  and without increasing the size of your city.

In  the process, I added  specific military duties to the membership classes of the Southern Chapter.  NPC Knights go to war.  NPC Officers defend the home nation.  NPC members defend the home city.

Re: OOC 3

As for the multi-holdings that Kunlun is a part of, where can I invest in Stability and Economy to help bring those values to a par with the Loyalty of +10? What properties/villages contribute to this 'blanket property'?

Re: OOC 3

Kunlun is part of the Midmarch provincial holding, administered by Henry, Borric and Rikka.  The Midmarch details are the first entry in the Places section of this page.

http://rp.baileymail.net/doku....egion:midmarch:start.

The province is 'in balance' at the moment (Econ+20.5, Loy+22, Stab +22) and Henry still has a few BP left to spend.

Please note that the entries on that page have been partially updated for this Campaign Round.

Hope all goes well with the house, Lord Marshal.  Finally landing the right home can be life changing!

So, in the next turn, will concession stands and sports shops, selling jerseys and mugs and so forth, become viable business opportunities?   ;)     (for the scrymball team)

Re: OOC 3

I think I have finally finished with the Campaign Round.  It has been a pain this year :)  However, I have decided to leave the Downtime thread open for a bit longer.

I have updated the Southern Pages - you can find all the settlement and business finances on the appropriate pages.  I have also updated the description pages for settlements.

http://rp.baileymail.net/doku....southernregion:start

Individuals should find up-to-date financial information in the Player Information Thread.

Re: OOC 3

And I am tidying up the Character Information Threads.

New NPC list (as a notice) - let me know if there is a NPC you would like to see there.

Eventually,  The original PC Characters thread will go.  But not before i have transferred any relevant data out of it.

Messing around with images is something I can do in between Olympic Sessions  :)  We now have four scrymball teams.

Right at the moment, I am wondering if I need more than seven people aside in a scrymball team!

See if you can get the Fiji / NZ game in the Olympic  Sevens.

I always enjoy watching sevens much more than I enjoy either 15-a-side Union or 13-a-side League  :)

I decided on some more appropriate kits for the scrymball teams - based on Gambeson (medieval padded armour)

Vova, I am sorry, that sounded quite dismissive.  It wasn't intended to be.

While I never got involved in LARP, these guys have taken up most of my summers for the last few years.

Recently, I have branched out to a bit of 18c re-enactment -  and  a bit of playing at pirates  :)

It has been mainly battle re-enactment, with a bit of living history and a few strange bits (like your football game)  thrown in.  One of my favourite parts was experimenting with a 17th century recipe for a 'Weak Honey Drink'  and developing it into a  recipe for a very pleasant dry mead.
