We might be enticed to give you a stat update.

Dom has me by +2 hit points and +4 AC.

Cass Mordane:
To the Pain sounds promising. Say 5 remaining hp or less?

We can do that, though not the DM's list :P

Call it concession or Unconsciousness whichever comes first.  Full combat gear or unarmoured?

You are the one who was challenged after all.

Hopefully Marik has been practicing he's next ;)
Unless he would prefer to retract his statement :)

Re: OOC 3

I think unarmored would make it more interesting. I have been thinking of how to make it more than a match of dueling dice rollers, but there is really not a lot of framework to build on in this particular case.

If you have improved disarm or any similar combat maneuvers, you may display your prowess most sagely. Cass has the combat maneuver hit things with sword. ;)

Re: OOC 3

Hit things with sword it is.  Though precision damage seems unsporting and Dom will refrain.

Re: OOC 3

We can incorporate this maneuver, if you like :

Parry - Duelist makes an attack roll with whatever weapon she is currently wielding, using her full base attack bonus but with a –5 penalty. If this attack roll is equal to or greater than the attack roll being made against her, she parries the attack and it is considered a miss.

Would that be instead of your attack that round or in addition too?

Re: OOC 3

In addition.

1. Dom scores a hit.
2. Cass scores a parry.
3. Cass scores a hit.
4. Dom scores a parry.

Round is a draw. No damage. If we want to go by rounds. If so, we could roll for initiative each round. Gamblers could bet per round as well. Or we can do it as one continuous group of actions.

Re: OOC 3

That looks reasonable :)

Though I think waiting for bets will slow it down.  Dom would frown on betting on a duel of honour, it's a bit common....

Definitely not retracting my statement. And definitely not going to be dueling, unless you're okay with me levitating out of your reach and dropping fireballs on your head.

Re: OOC 3

That might be an interesting duel. I can Evade your fireballs and counter with my own magics. Or we could start with "no offensive" magics and see how it goes.

There's a reason I've set up a sword school. As eclectic as my style is, I still want a Sword Lord title.

First rule of Dueling Salon:  You do not talk about Dueling Salon.  Ever.

Second rule of Dueling Salon: You do not burst in and unceremoniously disrupt a match.  Ev-  ah, um, oops.

Re: OOC 3

I'm aware of that ;) was including the opening formalities as part of the match -  tweaked it a little in case it wasn't clear.   That is her reaction toward the idea of a duel, she's hoping to prevent it from occurring.

If I get slung in the local jail for public disruption, I want an orange tunic!

You are aware there are social repercussions for being a coward? Shunned at social occasions, your businesses stop getting customers and that sort of thing.

Dom has a bow and evasion so levitating fireballs inside the salon not so much as a challenge as you think.

I wonder what the social repercussions would be for the sword-master who challenges a mage to a sword duel? The word that comes to mind is laughingstock! ;o)

This bit

Marik:
So that really only leaves two options. As has been stated, Lord Henry's charter comes from the King-Regent and we have all been sworn as Brevic Knights. To side against the King-Regent, then, would be an act of treason for each of us, and perhaps more importantly besmirch our honor."

He turns to Domitius, "If you weren't willing to fight for the crown, you should have never sworn the oath to do so."
