A smaller chamber,  entered from the main room, is entered through a pair of double doors.  Normally serving as a public sitting room, it has been pressed into service to serve the buffet.  There are tables covered in food, mainly cold meats, bread, fruit and small pastries - a server waits to help you select your food.

Making her way to the buffet table, Alex starts loading  a plate with cold meats, bread and a couple of pieces of fruit.  "That's better..." she says looking to see if Kendrick has followed her.

"Better?" Kendrick helped himself to a plate of bread, meats and cheese. He continued, "Last time I spoke with your father... I believe it was at the Courleon stables. I had hoped to purchase some breeding stock to supplement what we have here. My business partner and I were hoping to train horses in the future. Has Ferdinand mentioned his willingness to discuss such an opportunity?"

"Phah.  Better ask him after you have somewhere to raise them.  He won't let anything go without seeing where it will be kept.  And damned right too.  Why do you think I hung around with you and Nugget for so long?  It wasn't just for your pretty face."

She moves across to a couple of comfortable looking chairs and sits down, then slips her shoes off, discreetly, under the table.  "That's better ...."

"I knew it." Kendrick said as he sat across the table from Alex. "You can see Nugget. In fact, after this party... we can go for a ride. And you can ride Nugget if you miss him so much." He tried to relax in his seat, but with so many potential eyes, he stand straight up. "What would you like to do?"

"A night ride?  You are a bit forward, Kendrick."  However, there is a mile and a twinkle in her eye as she says it, "But not tonight.  It has been a long day and I won't be good company.  However, you could show me around the area tomorrow.  I'll leave the picnic down to you."

"As for Nugget, he is your horse now.  He chose to stay with you and I have my own horse, Starlight, with me.  She would be most upset if I didn't ride her.  She's not as heavy set as Nugget, but has the same level of training, of course."

Under the able she wriggles her toes, enjoying the fact that her feetare not confined in the tight court shoes.

Kendrick turned his head when he heard laughter from the wedding party. "Sounds like the ladies are having a good time. You should join them." He took another bite of cheese, "They may have scandalous thoughts if I kept you away from them for too long."

A human woman in a simple, yet elegant long sleeved dark brown dress entered the room. She gave a slight bow to Lord Kendrick and the woman at the table before she made several selections from the buffet. "They have desserts. I love desserts." Mikki placed several on her plate before she left the buffet.

"She seemed somewhat hungry..."  Alex comments as Miki rushes in  and then out again.  "Perhaps she doesn't get fed at home?"

Kendrick caught a backwards glance from Mikki, "Perhaps, but she should have gone for things other than desserts." He turned his attention back to Alex. "Tomorrow, a ride and lunch would be nice. Where shall I pick you up?"

Alex smiles.  "I am staying here tonight.  I'll see you tomorrow morning ..."

Thaddeus entered the buffet in search of food, filling a plate he smiled at the sight of Lord Kendrick and moved over to join him and the stunning red haired woman.  "My Lord, may Iomedae bless you on this glorious day.  I expect none of us expected a duel to end up like this." he gave a slightly awkward boy balancing a plate in one hand.

Kendrick stood when Thaddeus addressed him. "Yes, this was a surprising turn of events. But I do admit that I was looking forward to the duel. I know that Domitius is an accomplished swordsman." He gave Thaddeus a slight bow. "May I introduce Lady Alex Ledkno." Kendrick gestured to Alex as he offered a hand.

Alex slips her shoes on under the table, then stands and offers her hand to Thaddeus, so they can shake hands. "And you are ..." She asks politely.

Thaddeus smiled as he shook hands, "Brother Thaddeus, my lady a humble servant of Iomedae and chaplain to house Solanus here in Midmarch.  A pleasure to meet you, I do of course know of your family and their wonderful horses.  I most noble line of steeds." Thaddeus responded to the lady before him.

The conversations draw to a close, as the wedding celebration ends.
